Maya sat at the table, legs folded neatly under her and hoodie pulled down to reveal thick dark hair. She had never sat on floors quite like this or at a table this low to the floor. Dororo seemed to enjoy it, sitting with her and looking up over the table with his froggy eyes.
"Pretty cool huh?" She whispered to him. He croaked a happy reply back, and sniffed the fragrant air in the tea house. Maya had just arrived to the town, and was excited to find a tea house of all things. And it smelled wonderful. Better yet the place wasn't very crowded, two or three fisherman sitting around enjoying tea and pastries.
She had already quickly ordered a cup of jasmine green tea and a cake pastry she had never tried before. Now she sat waiting patiently and looking over the map on the table with Dororo peeking over at it.
"Well it looks like we're on track," she mumbled. "We haven't looked around here for mystery aunt yet..." She sighed heavily, head hitting the table.
"Froak?" Dororo questioned, cocking his head to the side.
Walking under the cloth sign for the door, Marcus and Sofa entered the 'inn' they walked towards. "I guess this isn't an inn, buddy, but it seems they still serve food here, so we might still be in luck for breakfast." Marcus walked up to the nearest person that seemed to work there, but before he could ask her what they served, she turned to him and looked at Sofa, reeling back, "He can't be out here. He'll wreck up the tea house. Take him out."
Marcus turned to Sofa, confused, "He's perfectly calm now, ma'am, and I assure you he will continue to stay that way. As long as we're allowed to pay for some food to eat and he isn't treated like a wild maniac. May we please have a seat and some tea to drink, we've come a long way and have just been insulted, we would like something to calm us down."
Flustered, the lady bowed and pointed them to a table opposite of a girl in a hoodie, Sofa facing the little Froakie peeking over the tiny table.
Maya looked up just in time from the table to see another person with a Vigoroth heading towards where her table was. She quickly pulled the map to hide her face, suddenly becoming nervous. She was happily well secluded from the rest of the customers.
Dororo just shook his head at her antics and rolled his round protruding eyes.
"Don't give me that, Oro!" She whispered down at him from behind the map. "I just... Don't feel like socializing right now."
Marcus sat with his back to the two travelers as they waited for their tea, taking off his backpack and placing it next to him. Cat stretching, he let out a restrained stretching noise, "Eeeaaahhh...so, now that we're here, what next? We haven't really made any plans for what happens when we get here."
Sofa pointed out the window to the north, "Vigo?" "North? There's nothing up there but snow and...and that Silvertree village! You getting the urge to compete in another contest? Or do you just miss Eira?" Marcus smiled, joking with his friend. "But there's no way we could make it through the blizzards without help, or at least another Pokemon that could help us, and besides, that egg couldn't survive in that kind of cold, you know that."
Sofa shrugged as if to say, "Alright, I was just suggesting...", but as they were talking, their backpack began glowing; dimly at first, but was shining brighter by the second.
Maya frowned, listening to the boy behind her and glanced at her map. Eavesdropping was in poor taste but... Silvertree Village huh? Where was that on the map? If it was like Snow Point City then maybe her mysterious and evasive aunt could be there... As she was musing these thoughts to herself, Dororo made a high pitched noise in surprise and tugged frantically at her sleeve.
"Froak-ka-ka!"
"What is it Oro?" She asked. He frantically pointed behind her. She turned around and almost fell backward in shock. His backpack was glowing! "Uh S-sir uh hello?" She panicked, frantically tapping his shoulder. "Your backpack is...!"
"Hm...? Oh, OH!" Marcus reached for his backpack as fast as possible, pulling out the container, and then the egg from the container. By now, the egg was beaming, forcing Marcus to shield his eyes as he pulled it out of its shelter. Placing it on the table, he was then left unsure what to do next, "I don't - what do we - do we just wait?" Sofa shrugged as the now white egg suddenly warped and bended, turning into the shape of a wynaut, before finally the light dimmed and faded.
"WY!" Cried the little baby Pokemon, new to the world. "Hey...hey little guy. My name is Marcus. It's nice to finally meet you." Marcus held out his hand for a shake. The small Pokemon cocked its head confused, but put its ear-like hand forward as well, and Marcus shook it, grinning. "Your name is Alexander. You are Alexander." Marcus instructed while pointing at Alexander. "Hmmm...it's a bit long though, how about Lex for short?" At this, Lex bounced up and down happily.
Turning to the hooded stranger, Marcus smiled, "Thank you for letting me know. I don't know what would have happened if he would have still been in that container when he hatched. I'm Marcus." He extended his hand forward for a handshake.
"N-no problem," she said nervously, eyeing his hand like it was a magnemite. Dororo elbowed her. "Maya," she introduced herself, finally reaching forward and shaking his hand carefully. "My name is Maya." She looked down at her Froakie. "And this is my Pokemon Dororo."
"Froaka!" Dororo croaked in greeting.
She looked at the baby Pokemon with a small smile. "Uh... Congratulations."
"Oh. Are you a Pokemon trainer too? Would you like to battle? I've been avoiding fighting the whole way here with the huge hordes traveling the old road; I'd really enjoy a good battle." Right then, the tea lady came back with their tea, sighing when she saw the Wynaut on the table. "No feet on the table." Lex got off and looked at the steaming liquid inquisitively. "Wy?"
"No thank you," she replied as polite as possible turning back to her table as a lady came with her steaming tea and a square slice of cake. "I may be a trainer but I'm not much of a battler you see... Any battle I would give you would... Not be a good battle sadly... I'm sorry..."
"Froak! Froak!" Dororo chirped, as if upset and desperately wanting a battle.
"... Maybe later though. I'm rather new to battling and..." She looked down at her food. "...This cake looks really good."
"...Cake. Okay, your choice. You know, you remind me of someone that I know. A part of her personality anyway." "Vigoroth! Vig vig..." Sofa was waving his hands and pointing at the little Alex.
"Hmm? Oh, it's tea. You wanna try some?" Lex grabbed the cup tasted the tea and spit it out, putting it back on the table. "WY! Naut!"
"Don't like bitter things, huh? Yeah, I prefer sweet myself, but I don't really mind tea. It's better for you than water, so I drink it." And with that he took a sip, when he put his cup down he noticed Sofa still pointing at Lex fervently.
"Oh...Well I guess now that he's here and hatched, we don't have to worry about his health; we can put him in his Pokeball. Alright, Silvertree village it is. Haven't seen snow for over a year now. It'd be nice to play in it for once like when I was little." Turning back to Maya, "Oh, are you a coordinator by any chance? A friend of mine is starting a contest up in Eirlys in a town not a lot know about. If you could have the means to get through the blizzards to get there, it'd be worth it to compete."
Turning back to Lex, "Now that I think about it, I could enter you. If I could win with Sofa, no offense buddy, but I could do miracles with you." Smiling, Lex rubbed his body up against Marcus.
Maya smiled as the, boy, Marcus played with his newly hatched Pokemon. "I'm not a coordinator either..." She looked over her shoulder at him as she sipped at her fragrant tea. "But I would like to head up that way and if there is a contest..." She frowned a bit as she thought about it. A traveling companion, well a human one, was not in the plans...
"I can handle blizzards just fine. I lived in a place called Snow Point City after all." She blinked and thought for a moment. "Oh I almost forgot. Come on out Bo." Maya unearthed a pokeball from her bag and out popped a fluffy mareep. It startled one of the waiters.
"Maaa!" She bleated happily, shaking her head as if just woken. Maya pulled a piece from the cake and fed it to Bo.
Zandrophin finally arrived at the tea house he'd heard about from one of the fisherman in the marketplace. It didn't take him long to get to Enya...but the buildings could definitely be labeled better. He'd made a comment earlier about how the fishing village could greatly benefit from his rising trading company; he must have a word with the town leadership, at some point.
He entered the tea house and quickly took stock of his surroundings. It appeared to be just another tea house...Zandrophin had seen many of them in his lifetime, so there was nothing new. A few fisherman were scattered around, but there were many empty tables. It seemed like a good place to relax before heading off into Eirlys.
...Then he looked over at the table near the back corner....
Damn....Mentus...look who it is.
Marcus was seated at the table with a girl neither Zandrophin nor Mentus recognized. Zandrophin's hand drifted to the custom Dive ball under his coat. Mentus stopped him.
Sir, he's not strong enough to fight yet. Besides, we don't want to wreck this place. Let's just play nice...travelling in a group would be safer.
The waitress came up to Zandrophin and attempted to guide him to a table. Zandrophin pushed past her and moved towards Marcus' table.
Zandrophin knew Marcus would be looking at him. Zandrophin paid him no mind and spoke directly to the girl at the table,
"Excuse me, Miss, but may I join you at this table?"

Maya almost startled again, so many people in this tiny village coming here, but merely adjusted the pair of glasses on her nose as she turned to look at the man who had arrived.
"Is there something special about this part of the tea house that everyone wants to sit here?" She asked, though it was more of a thought spoken out loud. She looked back down at her tea and sipped carefully. Bo was currently trying to steal what was left of her cake right off the table and Dororo was scrutinizing the new comer.
"B-but you may sit anywhere you like," she said, still looking away.
"Do forgive me, Miss. I did not mean to startle you. You'll forgive me, but I saw that you and your friend here-" Zandrophin gestured towards Marcus, still not looking at him, "had Pokemon. As you can see, I am a trainer, as well. This is Mentus."
As Zandrophin gestured to Mentus, the Abra slid from his place on his trainer's shoulders and bowed to the girl.
"Oh, how unthoughtful of me; I haven't introduced myself. I am Zandrophin. I'm from Saffron City in Kanto."
He extended his hand and asked,
"And you are?"

Maya was momentarily stunned at the forwardness of the people, and the bowing abra, and once again hesitated at the offered hand. Don't be rude, she mentally reminded herself. Finally she reached out and shook his hand.
"Maya," she said. "From Snow Point City, Sinnoh..."
