"You'll never know if I will unless you come along. Besides, you and I both know that you can't make it by yourself. If we run into trouble, I'll need you and your ability to battle to assist me if Mentus and I cannot convince our assailant to stop. Besides, if you want another chance to try and talk to Eira, you'll need to make it there. I've seen how she's looked at you since we all came together back in Akane's palace...she'll be very happy to see you; I can almost guarantee it."
He extended a hand.
"So..what do you say...truce until we get to where we're going?"

She followed him out for a moment and immediately headed away. This was their issue to deal with. Maya walked away from the two, Sofa in tow and Dororo on her shoulder.
The town was small and fishy as she walked around. She walked by four people before she finally spoke up.
"Excuse me I'm looking for a woman with last name Reed... Uh possibly looks like me. Is a fortune teller or something mystical... Or..." This was quickly going nowhere. The man was polite but quickly informed her he had seen not seen such a woman. She asked a woman this time and she thought for a moment.
"Ya know a woman like that did come through here..." The woman said.
"You're kidding. Where is she?" She asked, containing her excitement and scarcely hoping.
"I said she came through. She was here and came through like the wind. I don't know, darlin."
Walking slowly over to zandrophin, never taking his eyes off him until he reached within arm's distance, then he looked down at his hand. He slapped his hand away as he looked him in the eyes.
"I don't need your help to get there; I never needed help to get there and I don't really care if she looked at me or not or whatever other reason you're trying to convince me to let you come along." Sticking his finger in zandrophin face, "I don't like your eyes, I don't like your personality and I don't like your family. The ONLY reason I'm letting you coming along is because I don't want to have to severely injure you and your Pokemon and there'd be no other way to keep you from tagging along." Turning around, Marcus walked to the fountain in the middle of the town.
Zandrophin was not surprised at getting his hand slapped away; Marcus never liked to shake his hand, anyway. What did surprise him was his greviances against Zandrophin. He couldn't quite understand where that came from.
Sir, He knows having you come along would make the trip easier...but I think his pride is preventing him from seeing your logic.
His pride may yet be his downfall, old friend.
Zandrophin readjusted his coat, and headed towards the fountain to wait on Maya.

Maya sat on the fountain, re-braiding her thick hair and swearing. "God d**n it..." She said, pulling off her glasses and rubbing her eyes. Dororo sat on her lap nuzzling her hand in concern. Sofa sat on the fountain as well.
"You know what? I'm sick of this. I give up. I feel like I'm chasing a f**kin ghost pokemon!" She sighed and groaned.
"Froak..." Dororo said sadly.
"I know I need to find her but it's just..." She finished her braid and pulled up her sleeves to examine the cleanse tags on her arms. One was starting to peel off. She would have to put a new on soon... "There is no guarantee we'll find her. I could end up chasing her around the continent. What if she has like an abra and is just teleporting all over the place?"
"Froaaak..."
"Don't remind me.... Oh I think they're finished..." She said looking up.
Marcus walked up the Maya to see her in a less than stellar mood. "So I'm guessing you didn't find anything." Sofa walked over to Marcus and put his claw on his shoulder, shaking his head. "What? Did you find something out? What's wrong?" Sofa looked over Marcus' shoulder to see zandrophin walking slowly behind them,
*I don't like how you make Marcus feel. Stop making him feel bad.* Sofa didn't like conflict where there didn't need to be and he wanted his friend to be happy like how he was before this man and his Abra showed up.
Zandrophin casually walked up to the fountain, his left hand in his pocket. He walked up behind Marcus and asked,
"Alright, Chief...so what's the plan? You going to lead us forth by this map and our wits alone...or are we going to hire a guide? On the one hand, just us traveling would mean more time to bond and become closer friends..and we might not make it out alive. On the other hand, we could hire some stranger to take us somewhere were we've never been..and we might not make it out alive. It's your choice."
He waited a few seconds before continuing,
"However...there is a third option..."

She put her glasses on. "It's... It looks like she was here... Maybe... And then left pretty quick... Figures." She tugged at her sleeves a bit. "It's possible she isn't even staying in one place and it's just..."
"Froaaaak." Dororo commented.
"Yeah, annoying," Maya agreed. She was so sick of chasing down an illusion. "Some people said she went North and others said she went West. So I have no idea which way to go chase her down... Except stick with the plan. By the way... Sofa was a perfect gentleman."
She looked at Zandrophin and listened to his suggestions with a sour face. "Are you always so cheerful?... But what's your third option?"
At this point she was ready for any suggestion so long as she didn't have to come up with the ideas anymore.
"He was being sarcastic the entire time. Cheerful has less...insult in the tone. But hey, have you ever found any information about her before? This is good, that means you're following her and not just wandering around aimlessly. If they said North and West, we don't know of any town west of here, but we do know one north." Turning to zandrophin, Marcus rolled his eyes, "So what's your brilliant third plan? I'm guessing it involves you leading us through the tundra with your marvelous leadership skills..."
"Sadly, no...that was my fourth plan...in which you broke down due to the pressure and fear of failure...and I gallantly stepped in to take over for you."
"My third plan," Zandrophin continued, "was taking a shortcut. Mentus can teleport all of us to the lake...we'll still have to walk a bit, but at least it will be quite a bit less than before. It's not the most comfortable way to travel, but it's quick, and anything is better than freezing out there for longer than we have to. It's still your call, O currently-fearless leader."

-sigh- This is going to be a long trip. Marcus brought up his fingers for each point he made,
"One: We don't know if that lake on the map is the lake we're going to, maybe they have a smaller lake that isn't on this map. If you bring us somewhere miles and miles off of where we're going, maybe north of where we're going, how are we supposed to find our bearings? Two: If you teleport us there and we don't end up where we're supposed to go, apparently you don't have a very strong confidence in teleporting places you haven't been, how are we supposed to find our way back? We're going to wander around in the snow until we all starve to death Three: Let's say you do manage to teleport us to the lake. What if we get there and land on top of the lake, and all of our weight combined drop us through the ice? If the lake is as large as it says on the map, we'd have a difficult time making it to the village before one of our toes broke off."
Turning around and facing the north, "No, we ask around for advice on where to start, we find the trails the villagers took and we go the old-fashioned way."
"Alright, Chief...you're the boss. Lead us forward to glory and victory."
Sir, if worse comes to worse, we can just teleport a bit further north...I remember roughly where the villiage is, I can get us closer than I can this entire group.
Agreed, Mentus, but let's avoid that, if at all possible. Let's just play it his way...he is in charge.
Very well, Sir.
"So, Chief...where do we start? There's only a handful of people here...most haven't even been outside this town. Not exactly an information hub."
Do not fight for a cause or for what you believe in: Fight for yourself, because who you are rarely changes. Zandrophin
"True," Maya nodded at Marcus'' in agreement. It was true this was the most information she had gotten in along time...
She almost smiled at Zandrophin's sarcasm. She remained silent for a moment looking between the two. These two would be near impossible to get to compromise it seemed...
"While I'm not sure where all this hostility comes from..." Maya spoke. "Perhaps both would be wise? We try your way Marcus... And if we' get stuck... We fall back on Zandrophin's plan of teleporting? ... It is just a thought. I will go with whatever you decide on considering I have no choice anyway...
"They may not have left this town, but they know people who do." Marcus looked at Maya, "This is a small town, they'll know people coming and going, especially if they're often the same people. Maybe someone who trades with them or delivers their mail..." Marcus turned to the mail office, it really is more modern than the rest of town... "You all...get to know each other better. I'm gonna ask the mail office if they know anything. Sofa, come with me..." Slowly, Marcus walked with his friend to the building down the street to learn where to start their journey.
"Aye-aye, Sir...I'll get to work on getting to know her, Sir."
As soon as Marcus was out of earshot, Zandrophin turned to Maya, saying,
"Alright, Miss Maya...let's just skip the small talk; it's not the best thing right now, especially not for you. You are not in the best of positions, not finding the person you're looking for and everything. I would recommend some meditation while we wait for our fearless leader to return from the post office. Mentus and I can show you how, if you'd like."
