Eira sighed contently now that it was opening day of the brand new Lapras Lounge. She still marveled at the beautiful ice halls and fur covered seats and, for once, could not wait for the halls to be filled with people and their Pokemon. The village had offered to help many travelers safely make it to their destination just for this opening ceremony. As queen, Eira was supposed to go greet her guests and open the ceremonies, but she was really just wishing to spend the morning wandering the halls. Finally, she decided to go greet her guests and had the gates open so those waiting could enter Lapras Lounge for the first time.
"Welcome everyone to the first contest to be held in these halls!" Eira called out to them from her royal balcony, though her voice was only loud due to the echoing from the ice in the ceiling. "I hope that you can show me beauty and elegance to match the ice that you are surrounded by."

This is a contest with a performance round and a battle round, like in the show. Unlike in the show, you'll be earning points as you battle to add to your total score, though you will be battling each other. For the other surprises I have in store, you'll just have to wait and see.
Z walked into the contest hall and looked for the registration center. "Um, hello?" asked Z, "I want to enter the contest here. Where can I register my pokemon?" Z had cleaned his cloak...somewhat, and had groomed both Axew and Sparky and prepared them for another contest like the one Akane had thrown. he had even given them a special pokeblock blend that made them practically glow. Z had heard that there was a contest and wondered how Eira would judge the contest as it was her hall. Z looked around for someone who could help him, "hello?"
"Z!" Eira called cheerfully as she weaved through the crowds of people in halls so she could reach her young friend. Her Spheal was held securely in her arms as her white gown billowed behind her and her fur coat wrapped securely around her and trailed down at her sides. In that moment she really did look like the queen she was and even had a small silver crown that sparkled with ice like gems. "Will you be participating in this contest as well?"
"Hi Eira," said Z, "I was hoping I could register for this contest after the fun I had at the one Akane held and even had a battle with her afterwards. I lost, but it was exhilarating." Z was planning on competing here in the contest before heading south to meet his relatives and head to Starfort town on their Flygon to visit their gym. He had begun his journey, intending to visit his Relatives' Gym in Starfort town at their request. They had sent him a letter asking him to come and visit, so he set out on his journey with axew. After the contest he sent a letter saying he'd visit some friends in the north and he'd message them when they could meet.
"I'm glad you decided to enter. I'll show you where you can wait for the other participants," Eira told him with a bright smile, turning to guide him down one of the many hallways in the vast ice hall. People tried to greet her as they went, but Eira did her best to try and ignore them as she escorted her friend to the waiting room near the stage. "I hope you and your Pokemon give me a beautiful show Z. It's not often the people around here get to see Dragon types or even versatile Fire types like Sparky."
"How many pokemon are allowed in the contest?" asked Z, "I only have two right now, but I'm sure they will do their very best in the contest and put on quite a show." Sparky and Axew pumped their arms confidently. After hearing how Axew's performance went during his contest, Sparky was eager to have her turn at showing what she could do with her skills. Z had some ideas for their performance planned and hoped he could use them to their fullest. Z even had a little outfit for both of them to wear for the contest.
Maya paced awkwardly around the entrance of the hall, hoodie pulled up almost completely over her eyes.
"Competing in contests is not part of my plans..." She murmured, pacing about. "I've never even been in one before... Or seen one..." Bo followed her around as she went back and forth and bleated pleadingly. Maya sighed and looked at the eager mareep.
"I know I know! But it would take a lot of planning and thought and really I have no business entering a contest. It's silly for me to even consider!" She huffed in frustration and paced about some more. The hall was beautiful glittering and dazzling like frozen starlight in the very walls and floors... So very captivating... She finally stopped.
"These contests are all about beauty right? Or something?" She looked down at Bo. "All right... Fine. We can try." She nervously walked ahead, not sure if she was supposed to look for someone or tap an ice pokemon on the shoulder...
"There are two rounds in this contest and you are allowed to switch Pokemon between rounds if you wish," Eira explained as she sat on one of the fur topped benches in the waiting room. She smiled at him cheerfully. "If I don't give you a good score for your performance, which I doubt will happen, you are free to switch to your other Pokemon for the battle round in hopes of getting more points."
"Sounds like a lot of fun," said Z, "I just need to figure what to do for our act. I promised sparky that she could start things off. I hope I rank better in this contest than I did in my last one. Also, after I'm done here I need to head south to meet my relatives and travel to Starfort town. they have a gym there and sent me a letter asking me to stop by on my journey. If you want, I could meet you there after all the contest stuff is over and you find time to get away from the town for a bit. It's a nice town built into the impact crater of a meteorite hit."
"It's not easy to get away from here, but I can try to go south for a bit once more once the contest is over with," Eira said, looking down at her now sleeping partner before she looked up at Z with a slight frown. "I can't promise whether or not you'll rank well in this contest, especially since I don't know who else will enter or with what kind of Pokemon. I can only promise that I will do my best to keep judging fair and pick the most beautiful performance for the winner."
"If you promised that I would rank well, I'd think you were biased and quit," said Z, "I want the contest to be judged impartially and fairly so everyone has an equal chance at the badge. I'll do my best and I'll hope to see you at Starfort after all this is over." Sparky and Axew chimed in eagerly, jumping up and down with excitement. they were ready for this and would do the best they could to win the contest and the badge for their trainer/crush. Sparky also wanted to show off her moves in this contest like axew had in his previous contest.
"I look forward to a fantastic show from you then," Eira laughed happily, glad to have a friend in the contest so she could feel comfortable with the contestants. She looked around the empty room with a small sigh, having wished more people would have shown up to actually compete instead of just spectate. "Let's hope more people come here soon or I might have to just give the badge to you without getting to see a good show."
"Sparky wouldn't like that," said Z, "she wanted to show off what she could do now that Axew's had his chance." Sparky glared at Axew, who was giving her a smug look. "Combuskin." *Don't push me pipsqueak* Axew glared back, "Axew!" *don't call me pipsqueak, turkey.* the two pokemon were about to come to blows when a glare from Z stopped them, "Don't make me put you in your balls and leave you there till the contest begins. that shut them up real quick and axew climbed onto Z's shoulder with Combuskin cuddling into his side.
"I should have made this a doubles contest with how the two of you are acting," Eira laughed heartily at the two Pokemon's actions towards each other. It was good that the two were rivals in this, it would give them more motivation to do their best during their performances. "Just please don't melt my stage if you go ahead and use Sparky. It is brand new and quite difficult to rebuild even with all of the Ice types around."
After admiring the ice and wandering around she finally waltzed into a room with few chairs and two people. A boy and a girl that looked she popped out of the princess book she had when she was 8, chatted happily with each other. She debated turning around and forgetting about it but Bo edged her along, bumping her legs forward.
"Ok ok!" She hissed at the excited mareep. "Hold your ponytas!" She adjusted her hood, still keeping it up as she walked forward.
Maya coughed loudly. "Uhhh do I sign up here orrrrrr do I have to go somewhere else? Or have I missed the contest already? Or ummmmm...." Her voice got quieter and quieter as she talked.
