"I'm sure they wouldn't mind," said Z, "they both like to show off their stuff, be it on a battlefield or on a contest stage. Axew wants to show that he's a tough fighter and Sparky wants to show me that she's a tough fighter." Z's pokemon nodded in confirmation of what Z had said about them. They really were looking forward to the contest. if it was a doubles contest, then they would be even more thrilled, because they both would be able to show off their skills on a grand stage. Z had to make a few changes to his ideas due to the stage being an Ice stage, but he had practiced with Axew and Sparky's power control and had a few ideas.
Eira nodded as she listened to Z talk before she glanced over at the door when a girl walked in with a hood on. Eira frowned as the girl began to talk, clearly being someone who was very shy around people. "I can register you if you are wanting to enter the contest. I am the judge for Lapras Lounge, so I'd be the person you'd want to talk to about entering and rules and such. I'm Eira, what's your name?"
"Uh nice to meet you, your uh Majesty?" She said warily, not sure if that was the right word. "My name is Maya. I've never really been in a contest but if you would let me register and tell me the rules I'll be out of your hair." She fiddled with her long braid, looking around. This was border line surreal. Snow Point City never had anything like this. Bo bleated happily, prancing about.
"I can enter right? Or is this um... Royals only or something?" Maya questioned worriedly. She was getting worked up again. Was she allowed to swear in front of royalty? Did I f**k up? She thought.
"Anyone may enter, so don't worry," Eira told Maya calmly, smiling at her as she fidgeted under her long sleeves. She was grateful that Z was there so she had a point of reference if she needed help with socializing, since she was still not used to being around people all that much. "This contest is very simple. The first round will be judged on your performance with your Pokemon and your ability to make your Pokemon stand out in the best. The second round will be a battle between contestants in which you'll be earning points by how well your attacks look. Really, just make your Pokemon look beautiful and you'll score a lot of points here."
After she explained the rules, Eira paused, thinking back over what Maya had said to make sure she hadn't missed anything. "Oh, and you don't have to call me by any titles or anything. I may be the queen of this land, but I would prefer it if you just called me Eira."
She frowned. "Ok so just Eira." She stood a little awkwardly, looking everywhere except the two other people in the room. "Well thanks sounds... Doable. So am I registered? Is that it?"
"Maaaaa!" Bo bleated happily, little crackling sparks going through her wool in her happiness. She butted her head against Maya's leg and jumped up and down.
"... And when does it start?" Maya questioned. She needed some time to plan, figure out what the hell to do, what kind of performance, where Bo should stand... She froze... Was this going to be in front of a bunch of people?
"You are," Eira informed her, smiling happily at the excited little Mareep. She was glad that someone was so excited for the contest to begin like she was. "We are only waiting on two other competitors to come and register. We will get started once we have enough people for everything to begin. Please relax in here until we begin or you may go practice in the room adjacent to this one. If you need anything, just ask and I'll do my best to get it for you."
"Oh... Well all right," Maya said, looking up. "Thanks!" She hurried off happy to go off and practice.
She sat in the other room, face to face with Bo. "Ok so this isn't in the plans... But we're going to give this a shot anyway."
"Maaa!" Bo said happily.
She began running through Bo's move set and Dororo's though she find it unlikely he would participate... Bo had a modest move set for competitions... She thought so anyway but there was a good chance they would go well put together... That got more points right? She counted off everything on her fingers and pulled out a sheet of paper and pen, to start sketching out a plan.
Eira sighed as she pet Spheal softly, not wanting to wake the small Pokemon before they gave their opening speech. "I hope the other contestants get here soon so we can start. I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone can do."
She looked down at Spheal and wondered if she could get away with them performing just a bit before the contest began. Or she could use Shimmer since the star shaped Pokemon was certainly a sight to see and would be a great way to open the contest. If she did give her own performance, that would give the contestants an idea of what she was looking for. Eira smiled as she began to think of how she could open the contest with the help of her partners.
This is getting rediculous...there's no signage of any kind anywhere in this place...we're going to miss the contest solely becuase we couldn't find the damn room.
Patience, Sir...we will find it.
At long last...just before Zandrophin was about to shake the contest hall to the ground...they found the door to the hall.
Finally...
The pair entered and saw Eira talking to Maya.
"Well," he said to Maya, "I can see you made it here safely...especially after you just kinda left me out there."
He turned to Eira,
"Hello, again. I'd like to register for your contest."

"I hope you give a good performance then. Your new Squirtle would fit quite nicely on my stage if I may say so," Eira said with a weak smile, remembering quite clearly the eerie performance Zandrophin and Mentus had done in Celosia. She hoped that they wouldn't be doing something similar to it since she did not take too kindly to Psychic abilities. If he used his Squirtle though, that would make for a cute performance for sure. "If you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to ask me at any time."
Zandrophin activated the Dive ball and Squirt joined the group. He stood at Zandrophin's feet...waiting eagerly.
"If you would please excuse us, we have much to prepare for. I assume this is the room where the contest will occur? If it isn't, could you send for someone to find me? It took me forever to find this place, by the way...you may want to invest in a map of some sort. Come on, Squirt...we've got work to do..and we don't want to spoil any part of our act."
The now-trio bowed to Eira and left the room.
Much to do...much to do.
Don't fret, old friend...you've seen what we've come up with...and he's just about ready...just a bit more fine-tuning.

"Wait! Zandrophin!" Eira called out to him as he was leaving, startling Spheal awake as she tried to stand and forgot that he had been in her lap. Spheal huffed at his partner before rolling away from her to fall asleep elsewhere in the room. "You need to either stay in here or the room adjacent to it so we know when everyone is ready to go. If you leave, there is no way we can be certain that everyone will be ready when we decide to begin."
This snag in the plans irritated Zandrophin. He had hoped to be able to get away from everyone else...a showman is nothing without a good show, after all. However, with his usual amount of tact and composure, he turned and replied,
"I was hoping to not have to remain in this room, but you say there is an adjacent room. I will take that...but I must be the only one there. My act is to remain secret until I unveil it...not before; none must see it. Surely, as a coordinator, you must understand the value of surprising your audience. Is this request possible?"

"Maya already went in there right before you arrived, but she seems reasonable enough for you to talk it out about sharing the room," Eira told him with a strained smile. While she did understand the wish for a performance to remain secret, she couldn't quite understand why it had to be secret from his competitors when they were supposed to perform for her and her audience and not each other. "These two rooms are the only ones with a direct link to the stage that contestants are allowed to enter, so I'm sorry to say that you have to remain here."
