That’s it? The red lady was somewhat disappointed that she didn’t get to use her final move, and disappointed in Maya’s pokemon. Perhaps she could help Maya, but she figured the young woman would be too angry to forgive her for her ruthlessness. Akane never left the battle. But she couldn’t let her disappointment dampen her manners. The red woman and her pokemon sauntered to Maya.
”You did well. So sorry you had to go against me.” Akane gave Maya a slight but respectful bow, and Silas kneeled. The red woman flipped her hair and rejoined her prideful houndoom. Doom bombarded her and Silas with licks and headbutts.

Z straightened his cloak and walked onstage. He pulled a pokeball off of his necklace and enlarged it with the push of the central button. He then stood in his place waiting for Zandrophin so they could begin their match and so he could see what kind of countermeasures he would need depending on the pokemon that Zandrophin would choose to fight him with. 'if he uses his abra, then I should go fore attacks that hit a wide area to counter his teleport,' mused Z, 'if he uses that squirtle, then I should be able to counter whatever he decides to throw at me.'
Eira sat back down as she waited for everything to be prepared for the next battle, wishing she had someone there with her to discuss the events of the battle that had just taken place. She trusted her own judgement when it came to things of beauty, but it never hurt to have another pair of eyes to analyze things. Sealeo came over to her and bumped her leg with his body, drawing her attention away from her thoughts so she could pet him. Eira looked at her partner with a small smile and a sigh as she began to pet him. "What do you think of Marcus, buddy?"
Sealeo looked at her for a moment before he bumped her hand with his nose and barked happily, trying to show her that he enjoyed the other human's presence since that meant he could be with his friends.
The small bow was appreciated and at least she apologized but Maya wondered if this woman had a humble function. Maya at first thought her comment was offensive but reconsidered and realized that she just got plain unlucky.
She returned to the stands, Bo walking along beside her happily, much perkier now that she was treated. Maya made a note to sit a little bit further away from Akane, Bo sitting happily on her lap, clearly already forgotten the battle and happy to watch. She absently stroked the wool at Bo's neck, as she waited for the next battle to start. As she did so she realized there was something in her sleeve. As she shook it, a worn and almost blank cleanse tag fell out of her sleeve. She snatched the paper off the ground and shoved it in the bag.
"Ah..." She said, looking around and fishing for another cleanse tag. She was running low...

Zandrophin slowly applauded for the two combatants as he made his way to the stage. He saw that Z was already onstage, waiting for him. Zandrophin stepped onto his side of the stage, both Mentus and Squirt standing by him.
"Squirt," he said, "sit this one out. Mentus, you're with me."
Squirt moved back to the edge of the stage. Zandrophin and Mentus stepped forward. They bowed to Eira and the audience...and finally to Z.
Ready for this, old friend?
It's been a long time, Sir...and I'm still having trouble maintaining focus...a lot of residual charge in the air.
Try to sort through it...hopefully it won't affect us too much.
The pair squared off, ready to give the battle their best shot.

"Let's go, Pokeball!" said Z as he tossed his ball, releasing Axew onto the field, "You ready for this partner?" asked Z. "Axew." said Axew *of course.* The two of them waited for the match to begin. The residual charge wasn't doing much to Axew due to dragon types being resistant to the electric type. 'He's using the Abra,' mused Z, 'I hope this doesn't complicate things, but I'm glad I switched out otherwise I'd get pounded into the dirt.' Z took a knee and patted Axew on his head, "let's give them a good show, and maybe we can even win this battle."
Eira nearly cringed when she saw that Zandrophin was going to be using his Abra in the battle, having been hoping that the Psychic type would not be making an appearance on her stage. She held in the cringe with a small sigh as she stood to address the two ready trainers. "Remember that this is the time to be making up for any lost points from the first round. Keep your performance beautiful and take advantage of each other's moves to enhance your own. Winning isn't everything here."
"Let's start this show off," said Z, "Axew, use Dragon claw on Mentus!" Axew charged forward, gathering energy in it's claw. the glowing claw reflected off the surface of the ice, giving Axew a slight aura of light as the little pokemon ran. "Use the ice," said Z, "Don't fight it." Axew nodded and switched from running across the ice to gliding across it as if it were wearing ice skates on its feet. The small pokemon glided around the arena, afoiding damaged parts of the stage as it closed in on mentus. 'Alright,' thought Z, 'let's see how you dodge.'

Our judge is upset that you chose me, Sir.
I knew she would be. I'll wager we've already lost points...and the show hasn't even started. Ah, well...the show must go on.
Go on, it did. Z started off strong by having his Axew use Dragon Claw. The little creature ran across the ice, at first, and then Z found that sliding was more efficient. Zandrophin had to comment,
"Nice use of your terrain, lad. You'll get some points for that, for sure. Now...let me show you how we use the terrain. Mentus, do it!"
A bright light suddenly entered the room. Using the ice like a prism, the light was bent throughout the hall, creating a wide variety of dazzling colors. Mentus teleported out of the way of Axew just before the attack landed.
Axew was close to you when that flash went off, old friend...hopefully he's a bit disoriented...or perhaps even temporarily incapacitated.
Mentus appeared again, hovering on the other side of the stage...awaiting his opponent's next move.

Z had to shield his eyes from the rainbow light effect as so not to be blinded by the display. 'good move,' thought Z, 'use teleport to dodge and refract the light from flash. but can you dodge this?' "Axew!" yelled Z, "Use Draco meteor! Don't worry about aim, blanket the arena!" Axew charged up energy in it's mouth and fired it into the sky. the energy ball began to rain meteor like blasts of energy on the arena, leaving little room to dodge, even with teleport and pretty much trashing the ice arena with the force of the blasts. 'you're move good sir.'
The red woman watched with a stone face that broke when Zandrophin brought Mentus instead of his adorable squirtle. Z was tough, Akane had battled him once before. He would not bend to Mentus easily. Her stone face broke when Zandrophin first ordered Mentus to attack. She shielded hers and Doom’s eyes just in time, but her amused smile stretched her grin from ear to ear. Doom licked her hands and broke their eye-coverage just in time to see the remaining, beautiful colors. The red lady patted his head and returned to all eyes on the show. But she noticed Maya taking a spot on the other end of the bleachers. heh.

Zandrophin saw all of the balls of energy come raining down towards the stage. He was worried...he knew Mentus wouldn't be able to dodge all of them. So, he tried a different tactic.
"Mentus," he said "let's make some fireworks."
As he dodged, Mentus managed to redirect some of the energy blasts into each other, creating many decent-sized explosions of light, color, and sound. When he got the chance, Mentus also took many of the smaller orbs and sent them towards the little dragon that created them.
Let's see how he likes his own attack, Sir.
The attack kept coming...and what Zandrophin had predicted came into being. While he dodged many of the falling orbs, Mentus was struck, full front, by one of them. The ball of energy exploded on contact. Mentus began to spiral down towards the stage, recovering just in time. He landed perched atop one of the shards of ice on the stage.
Sir, I can't keep this up for too much longer...the electricity is still affecting me.
Just hold on for a bit longer, old friend...let's see what he does next.

Maya was too busy trying to paste a new cleanse tag to her arm to noticed the flash until it was too late. Thankfully her hood almost completely covered her eyes. It startled her and was disorienting but she could see give or take a bunch of spots in her vision. Bo on the other hand got a full flash of it and toppled off her lap in a bleat of surprised.
"Flaaaaaaafaaaa!" Bo complained.
She hurriedly stuck the tag on her arm to pick up Bo who was just flailing about.
"Don't be such a baby your vision will come back soon," she said, sitting the blind flaaffy on her lap with a huff. Maya tried blinking the rainbow of dots out of her vision so she could focus on the match.
Axew was struck by the blast that Mentus had sent back at him and was sent flying across the ice, only stopping when he hit one of the broken pieces of the stage. "Axew," yelled Z, "are you ok?" "Xew," said Axew weakly. "Can you fight?" asked Z. "Axew," nodded the small dragon pokemon as he pulled himself to his feet. "Alright then," said Z, "let's hit him with another wide attack. Use rock slide!" Axew jumped into the air and raised it's hands. Rings of energy appeared around him and rocks emerged from the rings, raining down onto the arena.
Marcus walked back into the Lapras Lounge more calm and level-headed than before, the walk having cleared his mind. Now do I go back to the booth or just to the stands? If she's still mad at me, it wouldn't be nice if I just showed up like nothing happened...
Sofa had found his trainer and joined him on his walk, both returning to the contest hall. He had a small layer of snow on his shoulders from the amount falling from the sky, but you could only tell from the red tuft on his forehead. Sofa shook off the frozen water from his body right as the hall started shaking and loud sounds of ice cracking could be heard from in the performance hall.
"Booth it is." Marcus said as he followed Sofa, whom went walking off to find where that sound came from.
