Z winced from the attack that the little pokemon just used, "sorry, what was that? I think that attack deafened me temporarily."
Z's other pokemon were also patting their ears to make sure that they were working ok after the loud shriek that had hit them.
Tsurara sighed, the normal type move having no effect on her, and used another ice beam to recreate the ice doll for toddle, *try to use an inside voice this time,* she childed.
Eira rubbed her ears and she looked around, her eyes landing on her little Teddiursa who was clearly upset. Her other Pokemon were looking towards Toddle as well to see if he was going to throw another fit, all of them weary of the loud voice that could come from the little Pokemon when he was upset. Toddle sniffled slightly before he gently hugged the ice sculpture that Tsurara had made for him.
*Thank you Auntie,* he mumbled into the sculpture, sniffling slightly as he got rid of his tears and the others relaxed.
"I apologize for Toddle, he still doesn't know how to control his voice sometimes," Eira told Z with a small sigh. "He's still a baby after all."
"He reminds me of grace when she was that age," chuckled Z, "except he's more timid than little grace was. Just make sure that you keep that ice doll i good condition. I think he really likes it, and Tsurara doesn't just give her sculptures away to just anyone. She is usually quite protective and prideful about them. In fact, I caught her when I was heading home from visiting this region and found her freezing icicles on the trees. That's why I named her Tsurara."
"Toddle and Grace used to despise each other, which I guess would be my own fault since I would try to baby both of them at the same time," Eira shook her head in amusement at the antics the two used to get into in order to gain her attention. "The gift will remain perfectly safe in this area, don't you worry. Tsurara is a wonderful name for a lady born of this region, especially one who takes enjoyment from creating ice sculptures like she does. And it looks like she has a bit of a motherly side to her as well with how she interacts with my Toddle."
Z chuckled, "she has a strong maternal instinct and likes to behave with an air of elegance about her. she is usually indoors back home due to he heat of the region, but she does enjoy the occasional snowfall during winter and makes stunning ice sculptures for the townsfolk to enjoy. How do you think she learned to make a sculpture of an articuno? Lots and lots of practice."
"I'm sure Ele would have enjoyed seeing her species caught in such a wonderful form, but, then again, she is also a tad vain so she may not have thought Tsurara's job was good enough," Eira sighed, rolling her eyes as she imagine the Articuno's reaction to seeing the ice sculpture that she personally thought was beautiful. "She probably would have destroyed it and then made her own to 'show' Tsurara how it was done properly."
Z sighed, "I hope not. She was quite proud of it and when we were practicing, she turned me into a popsicle when I told her she hadn't got the color of the feathers quite right on one of her more recent efforts. Sparky had to thaw me out and help me warm up after that. The two of them don't really get along that well. Probably because of the type matchups that they have."
"If she is a proud Pokemon, then she probably would not get along well with Ele. Ele is very much a proud Pokemon, so proud that everyone else's work looks like garbage in her eyes," Eira sighed tiredly, shaking her head at the memories of Ele trashing the hard work of many of the other Ice types who were training to be ice carvers in the village, having deemed them not worthy to sit alongside her own magnificent works. "Ele is proud of her work and will very much tell you if she believes that your work is not good enough for her eye."
"They probably would end up getting in a fight then," sighed Z, "heck, sparky's attitude would probably instigate a fight between them as well." Sparky frowned and whacked Z's head, "What?" protested Z, "You know its true!"
*You don't have to spread it around,* grumbled Sparky.
"Do I have to bring up the time with the Sableye?" asked Z
*We agreed to never speak of that again,* grumbled Sparky.
"A time with a Sableye?" Eira asked in confusion, unsure of what was going on between the two as they good naturedly bickered with each other. While she often understood the tones of her own Pokemon, she had a hard time understanding what many other Pokemon meant when they spoke with her or around her, so she didn't really know what Sparky was saying. "Did something happen to her with a Sableye?"
*Don't tell me you fell for a Sableye's trick?* Meta laughed, transforming into a Spheal so he could roll over to them easier than in his malleable form.
"Some sableye got into the mines," said Z, "they naturally eat ore and gemstones, so the mines were an all you can eat buffet for them. We ended up having to fight them off, but a fighting type isn't much good against a Dark/Ghost that had superior speed and a few psychic attacks. It was a very crushing defeat, no pun intended as we had to evacuate when the attacks started to cave in the mine shaft. I think those pokemon are still hiding there eating."
"I hate to say that I am not too surprised that you were defeated. Sableye are terrible Pokemon to have to face, especially with such speed and power at their beck and call," Eira gave a shiver at the very idea of having to face a Sableye with any of her Pokemon. She would definitely be given a run for her money if she ever came across one to have to battle against. It was then that she remembered hearing something a while back that might have interested Z. "Have you heard the rumors about Sableye?"
"what rumors?" asked Z, "has there been some important development involving them that I haven't heard about yet."
Meanwhile, Sparky was sulking in corner due to the memory of being swarm attacked by the hoard of little ghost types that phased through all of her punches and kicks while laughing at her and slamming her with their psychic attacks. She was humiliated that day and developed a strong dislike of those pokemon ever since that incident.
"Travelers have been coming around with rumors that there had been sightings somewhere to the south of a large Sableye that carries around a giant ruby, though no one knows if it might be a sudden evolution of Sableye or just a simple mutation," Eira informed him, doing her best to remember all of the rumors that had come to her through the grape vine. "I'm not too sure what it all means, but it sounds a bit like a possible mega evolution since Sableye have not been known to evolve under any circumstances."
"That sounds kind of spooky," said Z, "sableye are already among the more dangerous of pokemon due to them having no type disadvantages, but having one that is even stronger than the average sableye is definitely unnerving to say the least. I hope none of the sableye in the abandoned mine find a way to become like the one you just described. We already had some trouble containing them."
