Marcus kept glancing over at Akane, feeling awkward as she just stood there staring at them all. She's got this creepy smile on her face, like she's looking at lab rattata in a cage. "Well...well yeah, it's kind of the deal with Sofa's evolutionary line. They're awesome Pokemon with a lot of power, but once he evolves again, I'm not going to be able to get anything out of him. He's just going to want to lay around all the time and not do anything. I'll like the naps, but I'm not going to like it in Pokemon battles."
"Vig vigo vigoroth vigor. Vigoro vig vigoroth. Vig Vigoroth Vigo..." *Because it's a nice party. And I look nice. You're wearing a tie...*
"Eira," asked Z, "is something wrong? you look worried." Sparky continued to glare and size up Eira while her trainer talked to her. Axew shrugged, "Ax Ax Axew Ax Xew." *My trainer insisted that I dress nicely for the party.* Z glanced at axew, happy that he was getting along with the other pokemon so well. Axew usually had a bit of an attitude and occasionally ticked off other pokemon with his childishness and got into fights that Z had to rescue him from. One of those fights gave him his scar and a fear of bee-pokemon as well so he was glad that his little Axew was getting along with others.
"I-I think your Combuskin doesn't like me all that much," Eira stammered, unsure if she was comfortable with looking away from the Fire type even with her protective Staryu right beside her. "I don't even know what I might have done to offend it since we just met."
Spheal looked between Axew and Sofa before it rolled around in a huff. *My Eira didn't dress me up at all for this.*
Z glanced at Sparky and begun to chuckle. soon he was cracking up. "ha ha ha ha, sorry, Sparky has a bit of a crush on me and is kind of overprotective and gets jealous when I am friendly with other females. You should have seen when I was talking to a cousin that I hadn't seen for a while. The fight they had gave me good reason to call her Sparky. Boy was cousin Graci mad when she shot a flamethrower at her. Sparky, you don't have to worry. Eira is just a friend from the contest. You don't have to get jealous."
"I think she might be trying to intimidate you. It's almost cute, really." Marcus wanted to laugh at this funny situation, but he could still feel the eyes of the red queen on them, and they killed his mood. I just know she's got a plan for us. But what is it? She's thrown this ball for us, given us lifelong citizenship and even offered her royal-bred Poytas and Rapidashes to be at our disposal whenever we want. She's buttering us up for something...
Sofa rubbed his vest gently as he smiled at Spheal. *Well, you are round. What would you wear that not fall off? Also, you are round. You would dirty nice clothes with rolling.*
"I can understand having a protective Pokemon," Eira said, looking down at Shimmer with a slightly worried expression though she was glad that it had deemed that Z was not a threat and hadn't tried to attack him like it did Marcus. "It can create quite a few interesting situations, can't it?"
*My Eira would have figured something out.* Spheal said proudly, puffing up almost like a Jigglypuff as he tried to show his pride in his partner.
Z chuckled, "Protective is one thing, but Sparky is downright smitten. Any attention I give her deepens the infatuation and if I ignore her it will break her heart." Z petted Sparky's head and the bird pokemon's eyes became hearts, "I just have to make sure that she never uses attract on me. that would be quite awkward."
Axew poked spheal, causing the puffed up little seal pokemon to roll over backwards. "Axew Ax Ax Axew." *You are like a blue ball when you puff up like that.*
*Didn't your trainer tell you not do that? That make him mad.* Sofa stood in between the two Pokemon, putting his foot on Spheal to stop his rolling. *Do you want him to hit you with ice?* Sofa took his foot off of Spheal and stepped back. *Don't do things to people that make them mad. Do you want someone to do thing to you that make you mad? Then don't do it to others.* Sofa tried his best to be the moderator. It looked so much easier watching Marcus' dad do it...
"I can't imagine what it must be like to have a Pokemon like that," Eira laughed nervously, feeling just how awkward the situation was as Sparky looked at her trainer with nothing but love in her eyes.
*I wasn't going to do anything to him,* Spheal promised grumpily, deflating slightly as Sofa's foot rested on top of him. *My Eira would be upset if I got into a fight again.*
Axew pouted, "Ax Axew, Axew." *You're no fun, Sofa.* Axew turned to Sofa, "Ax Ax Ax, Axew Xew Axew Ax Xew." *there as to be some kind of fun thing we can do here that won't mess up our outfits.* Z chuckled at his starter's childish personality. He got bored quite easily and got into trouble on occasion because of it. His other pokemon also got into a bit of trouble on occasion, but only because she'd pick fights with other females that she saw as potential threats or rivals for Z's affections. It was all because he fund her as a torchic and nursed her back to health. ever since then, she was almost always at his side.
Akane glanced over to Eira, she approached only the woman from the north. The red woman ignored the others present.
”I have summoned all of you here for a reason. Now I am taking Lady Eira aside. Excuse us.” Akane motioned for Eira to follow. She glanced at her guards, indicating for them to use force if she dared not follow.
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
So it begins. I just wonder what she could have to talk to me about...I'm pretty uninteresting, all things considered. We won the contest, but just what could a queen want with some random Pokemon trainer? She must see dozens every day...Well...not much we can do until she gets to us...so there's not much point in letting it bother us...
Marcus turned to Z and tried to keep the conversation going and ignore what just happened. "So why do you lead her on like that? Have you ever sat Sparky down and told her what's wrong with this infatuation she has with you? It might be better for her in the long run..."
Eira was hesitant to follow Akane anywhere since she was sure that the red queen could easily do whatever she wished with her without fear of any consequences. After a moment's pause, Eira returned her Pokemon to their balls before setting off after Akane with one last worried look towards Marcus. After a few steps, Eira decided to be straight forward and ask why she was called away. "L-Lady Akane, what is it that you wish to speak to me about?"
The red woman paused and turned only her eyes over her shoulder. ”Do not ask questions. Just follow.” Akane resumed walking. Where’s your manners? I was told you were royalty. The duo walked in silence for the rest of the long walk to through the castle tower. She finally stopped to speak to Eira.
”If you are indeed who I think you are,” Akane turned to walk out onto the royal balcony that overlooked all of the kingdom and even the ocean. From here, she could look out and over her people that often times would gather under this balcony. Most importantly, this was one of the few times Akane would distance herself so much from her people. Here she looked down on them; here only royalty could touch the floor. “If you are in fact royalty, you will no longer slouch in fear. You will follow me unto this symbolic place.”
Akane turned to run her fingers along the beautifully sculpted golden balcony fence that prevented falling down the tall two story drop. Nobody was really gathered in the common courtyard below, for they were all mostly inside. Two guards awaited Eira’s response to Akane’s test. They stood stoic on either side of her at the edge of the balcony line; they knew they would never cross it. Akane’s harsh tone resurfaced.
”If you are not royalty, then just return from whence you came and leave my kingdom forever.” She gritted her teeth and looked with what seemed raw hatred. ”And do not lie to me. I have no tolerance for liars and lying to the queen results in death.” She paused yet again. ”And I will know if you are lying.”
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
"I-I don't consider myself royalty," Eira murmured timidly before she paused. She looked at Akane and knew she was trying to intimidate her, for whatever reason she did not know, but she was sure that it was not going to be good for Silvertree if she backed down and succumbed to the pressure Akane was putting on her. Squaring her shoulders and stepping out onto the balcony with more confidence than she felt, Eira looked Akane square in the eyes with a determined look. "But my village consider me their queen, so that must be what I am."
