“If it is a simple business you want, a business you may have. In Pyron City you say? Done. No matter what you choose, you will turn a large profit there.”
Zandrophin and Mentus bowed to Lady Akane. Zandrophin said,
"We thank you again for your hospitality, Lady Akane. Now...there is one more thing I want...or there's no deal. I want the independence of a freelance agent; I want to be free to choose when I work for you and when I work for myself. I want to be allowed to decide which tasks I complete, and which ones I turn down. I don't do thug jobs...you can find someone else for those. You want a clean and professional job done, I'm your man."
He waited a few moments before concluding:
"Any objections, Highness?"

Sofa quickly shoved the Staryu off of Marcus, getting in the way in case it decided to tackle his friend again. "What was that for?!" As Marcus got up, he glanced over to the other side of the pond and saw z sitting with a Combuskin. "Is that-never mind." Marcus was confused and frustrated at the sudden attack from this new pokemon. What did I ever do to you? You don't even know me. Little jerk. "Sofa, could you...?" Marcus turned around and pointed to his back to have him wipe it off. "Carefully please, this is Grandpa's suit." Gently and with the back of his wrists, Sofa wiped the ground off of Marcus' back. His back cleaned off, Marcus turned around, "Why did Shimmer just do that?"
“I cannot make anyone do anything. But my guards with not shove their weapons into your throat if you refuse me, that I can guarantee.” She smiled. “I do however need an invisible man to do things I, as a well-known public figure, can’t do and land, good land, is a fair enough trade to me. Just remember our deal and we will have no problems. Besides. I wouldn’t need to risk exposing one of my highest assets or allies for simple thug jobs. My guards take care of those.”
The red lady slowly glided to his face and removed her glove to shake hands with the man, to lower herself to him; then returning the favor to bow to him and for him to bow back to reset the balance.
“Now, tell me about that company you seem so interested in. The Silph Co.”
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
Zandrophin was glad that negotiations went well. He always hated when plans went astray. Lady Akane approached Zandrophin, removed her glove, and extended her hand.
If you do nothing else in your life, Sir...you'll shake that hand.
Zandrophin reached out and took his employer's hand.
"Pleasure doing business with you."
"Now, tell me about that company you seem so interested in. The Silph Co."
Zandrophin was silent for a while. He finally spoke,
"It's not a subject I like to discuss, Highness. Let's just say the apple does not often fall far from the tree, and leave it at that. If you will excuse us, we have much to do. Farewell."
Zandrophin stepped back, Mentus took his place on his shoulder, and the pair teleported out of the room...

Eira knelt down beside Shimmer and held onto it so it would not attack again as Marcus got cleaned off from the first attack. "Shimmer used to be the master of the lake near my village and was very territorial over the lake. Until I caught him, no men were able to get near the lake or Shimmer would attack immediately since he perceived them to be a threat to his lake. Shimmer is much calmer now that he's with me, but he still has a tendency to attack men when they get too close to me. I guess he thinks I'm his or something similar to how he thought of the lake."
"That doesn't seem like the best friend to keep, if he attacks anyone trying to friendly." Marcus was offended by the sudden attack, despite the explanation Eira gave him. "It's not like I was asking her out on a date, you know...She's gonna be heading back with a kid, you gonna beat him up too?" At that, Marcus glanced back over to the other side of the pond again to make sure he saw correctly. "Speaking of which- HEY Z!" Marcus cupped his hands around his mouth to call to the young man, waving him over when he saw that z had heard him.
Akane laughed when the man teleported. She was glad she spoke all she needed to say before he did so. Silph Co. Why does that name not bode well? She gritted her teeth and turned to head back to the hall. She glided easily through the men and women, getting and conversing lightly. Zandrophin had confirmed her suspicions. She headed to find the frost woman.
Akane approached the left wing she had suggested that she, Marcus, and Z go. Doom trotted in front of Akane clearing a path; his white bow tie shifting from side to side as his muscles shifted under his glossy, onyx coat. The red woman approached the gardens and noticed Marcus recovering from an attack. Did her pokemon attack him?
“Houndoom prepare yourself for an attack.” She spoke quietly and she saw houndoom’s body sink into a stalking position, prepared and alert for any shot the pokemon would take towards the queen. The duo approached the conversing woman and man.
“Evening, honored guests.” She stopped before she continued speaking again. “How are you all enjoying your party?” She paused yet again to look around. “Obviously not too well, seeing as you’re out here.” A small smile lit up her face.
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
Marcus whipped around after hearing someone's voice. "Oh. Good evening, your Highness. We came out here because Eira really wanted to let her pokemon out and she felt like she couldn't do so inside." Marcus' face felt warm from blood rushing to it because of the surprise Akane gave him.
Sofa stood staring at the Staryu, being as intimidating as he could try to make it stay way from his friend.
Z heard the call and rushed over, "What's going on?" Axew ran up behind Z, panting from running, while sparky walked up casually, "Ax Axew" *where's the fire?* Sparky snapped at him. *not funny, hatchling* Axew growled at her. *I'm not a hatchling!* "Calm down you two," sighed Z, "we're at a fomal party so behave and act respectful or I'll put you back in your balls until we reach the next village." that threat got them to shut up and behave in an instant. "So what's going on?" asked Z, "why did you yell for me?"
"I really am sorry for Shimmer. You won't have to worry about it attacking you once it deems that you aren't a threat to us," Eira told Marcus quickly, jumping in surprise moments later when Akane came up to them. Eira looked up at the beautiful woman worriedly as she continued to cling to her Pokemon so as to keep the hot headed Water type from attack the intimidating queen. "I-I'm sorry to say that events like this are not typically things that I enjoy."
"Oh, I just saw you over there and was gonna ask if you all wanted to hang out with us. You didn't have to rush over..." Marcus felt kind of bad about making z and his pokemon run over to them. I didn't think he'd think it an emergency. But at least all of the competitors are here for the queen to talk to, save one. I imagine she's already done with her business with him. Good riddance. Marcus came to terms with the fact that he wasn't going to get closure about what happened with zandrophin any time soon, if at all. Even still, he felt a twinge of anger at not being able to bring his mother's murderer to justice. Your life is better spent enjoying the good in it, Marcus. Remember that... -sigh-
"I was feeling a bit left out," said Z, "Oh, and I'd like you to meet Sparky, my Combuskin." She's my second pokemon and a loyal friend. "Combuskin!" said Sparky. "So congratulations Marcus, you won the contest and got the badge." Z held out his hand for him to shake. Sparky decided to walk up to Eira and look her over. She glared at Eira, wondering what she was to her master. She tried to give the impression that Z was HERS. Axew decided to have some fun with Sofa, spheal, and Shimmer. "Ax Axew," *want to play?*
"T-thanks. I still think you did an amazing job with Axew in your last performance. It's crazy how you can move like that...I don't think I've ever moved that much in my life." Marcus shook z's hand and smiled, glad the kid had not let his loss lower his spirits.
"Vig vigor...vigoroth vig." Sofa shook his head and straightened out his vest again, *I can't play, I don't want to mess up nice vest. It wass Marcus' father's father's. It's special to him.*
Z chuckled, "I've always been pretty agile and practiced to work on it since I was a child. Those stunts weren't that hard, but they were tiresome." Axew glanced at Sofa, "Ax Axew" *why are you wearing human clothes, Sofa?* "It couldn't beat how sofa evolved and kicked but in the matches," Z added, "that was an amazing act with an added bonus. Also how you totaled the houndoom and the dummies was an awesome and powerful demonstration of Sofa's abilities." Sparky continued to size up Eira and try to see what she is to Z
Eira looked at Sparky worriedly, wondering what exactly the Pokemon was doing to her by glaring at her like that. Whatever it was, she was sure would not go over well with Shimmer if the large star shaped Pokemon caught sight of her glaring like that. Spheal looked between all of the Pokemon around and jumped a little excitedly, wanting to play with all of them but unsure of what they could do with so many humans around. He was so used to just being able to go off into the forest with many of his friends so they didn't have to worry about humans, so seeing so many humans packed together was odd and a little unnerving to him.
