Akane didn’t care much for the judge’s decision this round. It was the battle portion she was interested in. The red woman felt sorry for the one who had to go against her. Her fire burned even hotter in this frozen wasteland, and their pokemon would be feeling the burn for a while after this; no matter what type they were.
Akane watched, equally impressed with Zandrophin as she was when he was at her contest. What a beautiful ice sculpture. I wanna melt it. But the red woman already had strikes against her, more would result in too much fun for the red woman, and quite possibly war; which Akane wouldn’t mind. After having looked around the wastes, she realized just how easy it would be for her to destroy Eira’s setup.
Akane congratulated Zandrophin. She had expected already to lose to him anyway. Not that it mattered to her.

Eira couldn't help but to smile at the performance Zandrophin had done with his adorable Squirtle. It had been much better for her to see such a sweet little Water type put on a show on stage than to see Zandrophin perform once more with Mentus. Something about Psychic types had always bothered her and she was grateful that Zandrophin had decided to go ahead and use his Squirtle instead. She cleared her throat as she stood to address Zandrophin and Squirt once their performance was complete. "I was not expecting to get so many wonderful gifts today. First the beautiful chandelier and now a Lapras sculpture that fits right in with these halls. I believe I speak for all of Silvertree when I say that we have been honored greatly by the performances we have seen today. Zandrophin, the way you showed off the beauty and skill of your Squirtle was magnificent and was just was I was looking for. I would have never thought to use Iron Tail to carve a statue out of a frozen Surf attack, so I must admit that your performance was quite unique. A very high score indeed in my book."
Eira then turned towards the entrance of the stage so she could address all of the contestants. "I will now give out your individual scores for the first round if you will all join Zandrophin on stage."
Z was a bit disappointed at how his performance had gone, but he headed onstage with sparky at his side to hear what his results would be. He was sure that he'd get the lowest score due to his less than stellar performance but he promised himself that he would do better in the battle round. Z knew that if there was one thing his pokemon were good at, it was kicking serious butt in a battle. He hoped he could raise his score in the battle round enough that he would at least not place dead last in this contest. That would be embarrassing.
Eira waited patiently for the contestants to begin coming onto the stage before she announce the scores one by one of each of them. "Zandrophin, your use of water and ice type moves to give additions to my contest hall simply amazed me. I could not help but to appreciate you little Squirtle's skills throughout your entire performance. For your beautiful performance, your current standing is second place with 17 points."
Eira paused before she turned to address Z with a small frown. "While Sparky's performance was not bad, it wasn't spectacular either. I had wished for a bit more that just two moves in this first round since I gave you free reign to use moves. I am sorry to say that your current standing for you short, but promising performance is last place with only 4 points."Zandrophin's score broken down
Zan=17 +1 for nice introduction -2 for inaccuracy with the Dive ball +1 for Squirtle’s entrance +4 for surf +4 for ice beam +2 for combination move +3 for overall description +2 for water and ice type attacks +2 cause made a freaking lapras statue
Maya stood on stage, unable to stand still, and bouncing on her feet as she awaited the scores. She was rather shocked, as she expected Zandrophin to get 1st. An ice sculpture in the shape of a Lapras? Genius. Still she stood on stage patiently, standing next to her newly evolved flaaffy. Bo stood confident and happy, standing on two legs rather than four. It would take Maya some time to get used to that and the pinkness but she cute and seemed to be enjoying her new bipedal life. She only hoped that this change didn't change how the next round went. She quickly adjusted her glasses and tried to stand straight.
Z frowned at his score, but he had expected that it would be like that after the poor act that he had made. He wished he didn't have had to worry about damaging the arena, but he didn't want to lose points over that and cause Eira to have more work to do, but that backfired on him in the end and he ended up with the lowest score. He promised himself that he would do better in the battle round, and show off the true power of his teammates in the arena. That was what he set out on his journey for anyway. He wanted to battle.
Eira turned to Maya then to announce her scores, smiling brightly at the girl she had found to have done a tremendous job at performing. "Maya, I was quite pleased with your performance and must admit that I was quite surprised when your Mareep, who I see is now a Flaafy, used an Ice type attack. It is not every day that you get to see a Pokemon use a move so unlike its typing like you showed today. I must also thank you for fixing my roof for me and giving me an addition to the stage that could only be rivaled by the Lapras statue behind you. For you beautiful performance, I give you 19 points and the current first place position."Maya's score broken down:
Maya blinked at the words and the score. It took a moment for her brain to catch up and reboot until Bo, bumped her head against her leg with a bleat.
"W-wait, me?" She asked, pointing at herself, wondering if there was another Maya that won behind her. "I got first place?" She looked at the other contestants, looked down at Bo, looked back at Eira and gaped. "T-thank you!" She said, not knowing what else to say, and bowing. Her legs shook as she stood on the stage but she tried to brace herself. She wanted to hurry off the stage as quickly as possible. "Thank you very much!"
Lex was bouncing back and forth at watching all of the performances, his feet glowing from using splash without thinking about it. All of the pretty colors and awesome moves made him want to join in. "Hey, calm down. Eira's not done." Marcus grabbed Lex and sat him in his lap, whispered, "You can do stuff like that too. I'm sorry I couldn't get you into this one in time to compete, but I think it's better this way. Now you can see how contests go and know what performances look like. And if you sit still, you're going to get to see what battles look like, but you have to sit still, okay?" To this, Lex stopped fidgeting and rocked back and forth in Marcus' lap, his perpetual smile wide and beaming, "Wy."
Eira smiled and actually laughed at Maya's reaction to her score. "No, thank you for that amazing performance. I look forward to seeing what you do in the battle round, to what all of you will do in the battle round so that you can get first place. Before that, Lady Akane, you still need your score. While I am not a large fan of Fire types, you managed to show off the power and beauty of your Houndoom quite well. I was impressed, even when you melted my stage, and truly believed that you would have the highest score for this round. Sadly, you are currently in third place with a score of 13."Akane's score broken down:
Upon hearing the final score, Mentus eventually rejoined Zandrophin, who was currently spinning the Dive ball in his hand.
An excellent performance, Sir. You also received a good score for your efforts. You might win this one.
Winning this contest is not my objective, Mentus...you know this; in fact, I could've left and returned to Pyron City well before this point. I only stay as I am unsure as to if my services are still required here...and to have a bit of fun.
However, knowing what was coming up next, Zandrophin could see the fun was just about over. A battle came next...and he was unsure if he was ready.
He hated battles...his father always made him battle........
Do not fight for a cause or for what you believe in: Fight for yourself, because who you are rarely changes. Zandrophin
Akane had been waiting for this. She was ready to strike fear into the hearts of Eira’s people, to make them fully respect Celosia’s power. Her true purpose would be served with that and learning all she can about Silvertree and any other northern settlements. However, she was disappointed with her score. The judge only spoke of Akane combining one move when she combined three, and made no comment on her fellow competitor’s Z’s sparkling performance like she raved over Maya’s. She too, was highly disappointed in his act. Akane made brief eye-contact with Maya and glared towards her for a moment.
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
Z began to think. Which of his two partners would be best for the battle round. They both had some decent moves, but Axew had more of his type weaknesses covered than Sparky did. Sparky had some mean techniques though and could kick serious butt, literally. Z thought about the pokemon he saw the other contestants using and thought about what they could do in the battle round. Thinking about it, Z decided to switch to Axew if he could, knowing he could get more done in a battle where the enemy is unknown and that more of his bases were covered so he could fight harder without worrying.
"Now that everyone has their preliminary scores, let's move along to the battle round. For this round, you may switch to another Pokemon if you wish, though you still must show off the beauty of your Pokemon. In this battle, it is not so important to knock out your opponent, so much as it is important to show off the moves and abilities your Pokemon has," Eira explained as she pulled out on of her Dive balls and threw it towards the stage. Spheal popped out, still snoozing from his nap earlier which worried Eira a bit since he did not normally sleep this much in a day. "S-Spheal, wake up so you can help me determine who will be battling each other."
Spheal slowly began to wake up before his eyes shot open wide and he began to glow brightly. Eira was shocked as her little partner began to gradually grow in size and change shape until the glow dissipated and showed that he had turned into a Sealeo. Sealeo looked down at himself for a moment before he cheered and clapped his chest in happiness, showing that he was still the same as he always had been.
"Sph-, no, Sealeo," Eira murmured, grinning wildly at her newly evolved partner before she turned to continue on to pick who would be battling who. "Since I can't do my original idea of how to determine battle slots, I will just pick who will battle who. I believe it would be interesting to see a battle between Lady Akane and Maya, so let us go with ladies first once more."
Maya had the misfortune of catching that withering glare from the woman, named Akane who was indeed royalty of Celosia no less, and gulped. She pulled her hoodie up further and wondered if she would be getting a fireball in the face anytime soon... she certainly hoped not.
As it was the battle was making her nervous. She only had Dororo and Bo to work with for the battle... and we would really rather not put Dororo out on the ice and cold... She considered stealing a pelt of something she saw on the chairs to put on him but knew it wouldn't banish to cold from him...
Even worse was that Maya had to battle against one of these three. Heaven forbid she battle against Akane queen of power or whatever. She would have to carefully plan for all three contestants here if she didn't want to faint in front of everyone on stage.
Which is why she almost did, when she realized Eira announced she would be battling against Akane.
