"Axew, Ax Axew!" said Axew, *why did you shove me away?* "Why do you always feel tired?" asked Z. Z was getting impatient and shifted his weight again from foot to foot. "where is the fourth?"
Does no one understand the concept of 'leave me alone, i'm sleeping'? -sigh- This kid has way too much energy.
"Probably because I'm around this guy all the time. You know that concept of yawning when you see someone else yawning?" On cue, Marcus yawned long and silent. "It's like that, but worse." Sofa shifted and grunted disapprovingly. "I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I'm just explaining it. And now that I know you're awake, don't ignore your new friend."
Sofa opened one eye and looked at Axew. "Slakoth. Sla." *Because you're annoying. I'm trying to sleep.*
Z and axew shrugged and went back to practicing dragon claw's control. They were trying on pieces of tissue to try and reduce expensive damages to objects. "AXEW!" "No dice," said Z as a tissue was shredded, "let's try again. Axew and Z continued to work with the control of dragon claw. They would need all the control they could get to pull off the routines Z had planned for the contest. "Let's try it again," said Z "Axew!"

Zandrophin approached the staging area, Mentus resting in his pack, and looked around cautiously...unsure if anything was waiting for him. He'd already been searched by a guard outside, who found nothing, and broke an orderly's nose because he took him for a commoner; something told him he might not be welcome. However, he'd never been one to let that stop him. He glanced back at Mentus.
Mentus, do you sense anything?
Nothing, Sir. You didn't have to hit that lad, you know...he just made a mistake.
Few people have the right to push me around; he was not one of them.
Very well, Sir. Steel yourself, for SHE ought to be on that list.
Zandrophin nodded. He knew to be careful of the sovereign of Celosia. She held great power and was not to be taken lightly. He reached the doors of the staging area. Zandrophin cleared his throat, straightened his tie, brushed the bit of hair from his face, put his left hand in his pocket, took a deep breath, and entered through the doors.

Axew used dragon claw one last time and the tissue was split cleanly in half. as they were celebrating, a breeze caught the tissue and carried them to the entrance hall where they hit Zandrophin in the face. Z ran up with Axew. "We're really sorry about that," said Z, "the tissue got away from us when we were training."
Sofa's nose twitched, and he opened his eyes to look for where that...odd smell came from. All the commotion caused by the fourth contestant's entrance shook Marcus from his thoughts of the past.
"What now? I was..." Marcus looked around and noticed the intensity in the air. And then his eyes rested on the young man entering the hall.
I don't like the look on his face.
Suddenly a tissue flew and covered it up.
That's better. Marcus smiled at his joke to himself. He doesn't look very trustworthy.
"We'll have to watch him." Sofa grunted in agreement. "Now we just wait for her Royal Highness to start this thing."
Akane's mood brightened. Finally the last member has come. Akane gestured with a simple hand-motion to her guards, signifying she would begin the competition soon. At least this one's got a respectable air about him. A small smile played up the corners of her lips. She wondered what pokemon he was going to use, for he seemed confident enough. Or maybe she was reading him wrong. He was very hard for the red woman to read. She heard rustling behind the curtained stage as her guards set up for this two part single round contest. The shimmering badge to her right was almost calling out to her, begging to be awarded already.

Z ran back to the others, pleased that the contest was about to begin. He placed Axew on his head so the little pokemon would get a better view and went over their routine in his head one last time to make sure there were no flaws. "Ready partner?" "Axew!" "good."

As soon as he walked in...Zandrophin regretted entering. He walked through the door, and his vision was obscured by a piece of tissue paper. Very slowly, he removed the object from his face. Off to a great start already, Sir. So it would seem. He looked at where the object had come from: a trainer and his greenish Pokemon. An Axew, Sir. Low threat, unless you count the audio as dangerous; very irritating voice. The trainer began to apologize. Zandrophin stopped him, saying, "It's quite alright...just pay more attention." They both moved back to the rest of the group.

Eira looked over as the newcomer came in only to see a confident looking trainer walk in. She took a deep breath and squeezed a little tighter on Spheal, knowing the competition was to begin soon. It unnerved her that she had to go first, but it was only fair since she was the first to register for the event. Eira glanced towards Akane, waiting for a sign to start.
"so what's your name, sir?" asked Z as Zandrophin walked up, "you can call me Z and this is Axew." "Axew." said Axew with a salute. Z was eager to start the contest and shifted his weight again. Axew looked over at the Abra, "Ax, Axew." *great, another sleeping pokemon.*
"Welp, guess it's time to get up and look at least a little bit respectable." Marcus stood up one last time from his spot and straightened his hair as best he could. "Come on, man. At least for a little bit, stand up and show your respect." Sofa sighed and followed suit, standing up and facing the queen, brushing down his hair in the same fashion.
Marcus locked eyes with zandrophin for two seconds and then looked away. I really don't like that guy, and I don't even know why...There's just something about that look on his face...I shouldn't just judge so fast. But I just can't shake this feeling that he's going to hurt someone.

The trainer named "Z" asked for his name. Zandrophin did not respond...his conversation was elsewhere. How are you doing, Mentus? The trainer thinks I'm sleeping, Sir...and his Axew is trying to talk to me.. Steady, Mentus...just ignore it. The competition begins soon...let's get ready. Abruptly, Zandrophin left the group and moved to a different area of the room.

Z frowned at being brushed off and made sure his hair was well groomed. he figured his cloak would make him look ragged, but he planned on using that to hide his outfit and to make it stand out more. Axew huffed and sat itself down on Z's shoulder and Z gave him a pokemon treat. Z smiled as his partner ate. 'this is it.'
The red lady flashed her cruel smile revealing all her teeth to her sharp canines. She stood up from her throne and her guards stayed put when she strutted forward, her dress trailing behind her.
“Welcome, welcome, to the royal kingdom of Ignacia. I, as queen of all of Celosia, am honored to receive you all today in these great halls.” She gave a slight bow towards her contestants. “I hope you all feel equally honored to be here, in the debut contest of Houndoom Hall.”
She waited patiently for all of the spectators and visitors to quiet down. She watched as the contestant’s nerves and squirminess trickled out of their systems.
“For the first of this two part, single round competition,” the guards on the roof of the Hall pushed back large roofs that dimmed the stage. When the roof plates were pushed back, the new light revealed the front half of the stage and on that stage, four dummies. “I want you to use two moves and two moves only to create either the most beautiful combination attacks,” Akane gestured to with her arms indicating she wanted even the audience to be dazzled. “or simply blow us away with the most powerful.” She outstretched her hand towards the dummies. They were an optional prop.
Akane formally bowed to everyone in the room and her spectating civilians bowed even lower.
“The order will go as registered.” She read the paper her guard slipped into her hands. “Lady Eira from Silvertree Village, will go first. Sir Marcus from Ignacia shall go next. Sir Kazi “Z” Carter after, and Sir Zandrophin shall go last.”
The audience applauded their contestants.
“May the competition, part one begin.”
I can't wait until I reveal what's behind those curtains for part two. She waved and signaled her guards to direct the contestants to their posts.
