Scorpio, who hadn't been put into a ball, picked grace up and placed her on the counter so she could see nurse joy."Oh," said Nurse Joy to Eira, "are you here to have me check on you Hapiny? She looks quite healthy and happy at the moment and her stone is well polished. She seems very content."

A chansey walked up and took Fraxure to the treatment room so they could begin healing him. Another chansey walked up and played peekaboo with the baby pokemon. Considering that she evolved from a hapiny, she felt a kinship with the little pokemon

Grace blew a raspberry when the Chansey started to play with her, turning to look around for something that interested her. Seeing Scorpio, she cheered happily and waved at him. Eira stepped forward and brought out Shimmer's ball with a slight blush. "Ah, no, I just bring her with me since she's just a baby. I-I actually need you to take a look at my Staryu since I just finished battling with Z."

The chansey pouted as Grace went to play with Scorpio. Scorpio picked up the little pokemon with his claws and gently tossed her up and down.

"Ah, so you're the challenger," said Nurse Joy, "did you beat him? Oh and please show me your staryu so I can see how severe the damage to it is. Audino."

An audino walked up with a tray with some things like a stethoscope and such for pokemon and handed them to Nurse Joy

Grace giggled at being lifted into the air by the large Drapion, liking him a lot more than the Chansey that had tried to play with her. Eira was hesitant to bring out Shimmer, but released it onto the counter so that the nurse could examine it properly. It wasn't just the fact that she had let Shimmer push itself past exhaustion, but the fact that Shimmer didn't like to be touched by anyone but her and could cause a scene if Joy wasn't careful.

Nurse Joy looked over at the staryu, "looks like it took quite a beating." she said, "though I'd still like to know who won." Joy examined Staryu's wounds and tried to use the stethoscope on its gem.

Scorpio continued to play with grace while the Chansey walked away depressed about the little pokemon liking the big scorpion more than her. Z walked over to a chair and sat down with his pokemon. A chansey brought him a plate of curry and rice.

"It was more of a tie than a clear victory for either of us," Eira admitted a bit worriedly. If Shimmer, her most experienced battler, couldn't win against Z, then how will any of her other Pokemon match up in comparison when they don't really have any experience battling? Maybe she wouldn't be getting a badge like she had thought originally when she decided to challenge Z.

Grace noticed the food and began to wail as she realized that she was hungry.

"That's too bad," said Nurse Joy, "It would have been quite a battle."
She continued to examine shimmer, making sure the pokemon wasn't too badly injured, "I think i'll be able to operate on shimmer," said Nurse joy, "it's going to make a complete recovery."
An audino brought a bottle of pokemon baby food and gave it to Scorpio. Scorpio began to feed grace from the bottle so the little pokemon would be happy and not hungry anymore.

"It really was a great battle," Eira said with a small smile, really happy that her first battle had gone pretty well. Eira was startled when Joy said that she would operate on Shimmer. "Shimmer was only electrocuted, it shouldn't have too much damage done on it."

Grace happily drank down the baby food, cooing around the food at Scorpio in thanks. She really liked this big brother Pokemon and wanted to play with him more.

"Your staryu isn't hurt to badly, just some electrical burns and energy that needs to be siphoned out," said Nurse Joy, "it'll be ready to challenge the gym again by tomorrow." Scorpio liked this little pokemon, he felt bad that she'd have to leave when her trainer headed home. He enjoyed taking care of her and playing games. she was one of the first pokemon that wasn't initially scared of his giant scorpion appearance. He sighed and continued to feed her.

"Oh, thank you very much, Nurse Joy," Eira said, smiling at the nurse before she frowned. "Please be careful when Shimmer wakes up. It doesn't like to be touched by anyone but me and might try to act up."

Grace cooed at Scorpio, wondering if her mama would be taking her away from her new big brother soon or if she could play with him some more. She really liked him and thought he looked interesting.

Scorpio held Grace up with his tail and used his claw to burp her now that she had finished her food. He hoped Eira would stick around so he could stay with his new friend here. He knew that he wouldn't be able to leave the gym due to Z's duties so if they left they would be gone.

"I'll keep that in mind," said Nurse Joy, "now, why don't you get something to eat. I'll call you when your pokemon is done. I'll have audino bring some food to you."

*Bwotha, pway,* Grace cheered, clapping towards Scorpio. Walrein looked at the scene between Grace and Scorpio in confusion. Grace called him Papa and his Eira Mama, but he hadn't heard anyone else get familial titles from the baby Pokemon. He wondered how she would feel when they had to travel back to Silvertree and she wouldn't be able to see the Poison type for a long time.

"Thank you," Eira murmured, unsure if she could eat when her Pokemon was being treated.

Z put down his empty plate and sighed as Alloy and sparky played a game of cards while they waited, with Alloy using his psychic abilities to hold the cards. "Blaziken," said Sparky, as she put down a full house, causing Alloy grunted in irritation and pushed the stack of treats they were betting with towards her.

Scorpio began to rock Grace soothingly so she would fall asleep and get a short nap after her meal. He didn't know how to react at being called Papa by this little pokemon. He knew it would be hard to say goodbye.

Eira slowly sat down with Z and their Pokemon, though she refused to touch the food that had been served to them. She was worried about Shimmer and absently toyed with Walrein's fur to help soothe her nerves about what was going on. Meta moved into her lap and tried to cheer her up by turning into various cute Pokemon, but she wasn't paying attention to it.

Grace shook her head and cried out at Scorpio, not wanting to take a nap even though she had just ate. *Pway! Pway! Bwotha, pway!*

Z chuckled as his pokemon's antics while Alloy and Sparky continued to play cards. It seemed that Sparky was quite the gambler and was able to easily beat Alloy and win everything from the pokemon. "Mind if I join in?" asked Z. Sparky nodded and dealt him some cards. Sparky placed two cards down, while Z kept all of his. Sparky put down a straight, but Z put down a royal flush, making Sparky gape. "I win," said Z
