Shimmer tried to dodge as many rocks as it could, but was struck several times by the falling attacks. Shimmer landed away from the attacks and tried to shake off the damage that had been done, but couldn't as it slumped slightly from the amount of physical damage it had taken. It straightened after a moment, deciding that it was ending things now so this battle didn't last too long. Charging up the electricity around its body and hoping that Fraxure was still wet from the Bubblebeam, Shimmer filled the field with as much electricity as it could in one massive Thunderbolt.
Z saw the attack coming and decided to go for broke. "Fraxure, jump on one of the rocks and get off the ground!" The dragon pokemon used one of the rocks to springboard off the ground, so the electricity would pass by him due to him not being grounded, "Now use Dragon Claw!" Fraxure curled up and shot itself at Shimmer, twisting in the air so the energy from his dragon claw made a spiral drill pattern around him. "FRAX FRAXURE!" *Giga Drill BREAK!* "I have an otaku starter," sighed Z
Shimmer lifted several of the rocks in front of it as a shield with Psychic, shifting backwards just in case the little dragon managed to break through the rocks with his attack. In that moment, Shimmer wished that its human would snap out of it and help it think of something to do in this battle or they just might lose to that annoying little dragon. Eira, though, did not appear to be in any condition to be of any help.
Fraxure hit the rocks, and because of how he was spinning, tore through them like a drill and kept flying toward Shimmer. "I have to admit," said Z, "it may be a rip off of an anime, but the move does work." Fraxure slammed into Shimmer the spin from his body adding extra damage to the dragon claw attack. Z watched as the two pokemon clashed, wondering who would emerge victorious. Z offhandedly wondered what it would take to clear all the stones away.
Shimmer hardly felt the impact since Fraxure managed to hit it head on in its gem, a surface that was vary much like armor for the star shaped Pokemon. Shimmer released a Thunderbolt once it had recovered from the impact of Fraxure's attack, taking advantage of the small dragon being at close range so it could hopefully hit him. Shimmer was a strong Pokemon after years of commanding its lake, but even it would grow tired if this battle lasted too much longer.
Fraxure grabbed onto Shimmer's leg as the electricity hit him and went from shimmer into his body, and into shimmer again. Fraxure hoped that he could endure this with his natural resistance, long enough for shimmer's own attack to do some damage to the stubborn water type. Fraxure wasn't sure if he could hold out long enough, but he was determined to not be beaten by this starfish pokemon. He would go down fighting.
"Shimmer, stop!" Eira called, seeing the electricity passing over to her Pokemon. Psychic abilities or not, Shimmer was still her Pokemon and she didn't want it to be hurt, especially by an electrical attack with the power of Thunderbolt Shimmer didn't listen to her though since it was planning on finishing the battle then and there. It slowly increased the power of its attack in attempt to knock out Fraxure before too much electricity passed back to it.
Fraxure hung on tight, "FRAXURE!" he roared *J-JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?"* Fraxure gripped the starfish pokemon even tighter as he started to black out from the amout of electricity being forced through his body. He ignored the pain though and kept holding on. He would win this for his trainer if it was the last thing he... Fraxure wasn't able to finish that thought as he blacked out and fell to the ground from the amount of damage he suffered.
Shimmer followed suite shortly after, falling backwards to the ground as its normally bright blue gem faded slightly to show that it was knocked out. Eira hurried onto the field when it was obvious that the battle was not continuing, wanting to help heal her Pokemon as quickly as possible. "Shimmer, I'm sorry for spacing out like that. I should have helped you battle. Maybe we would have won if I had."
"That was an amazing fight," said Z, "Fraxure hasn't had a fight that close since his battle with Zandrophin's abra back at your contest hall. Oh and sorry about trashing the place during the contest. Z walked onto the arena and picked up his starter, "the pokemon center is nearby for convenience, I can walk you there and we can get some food while we are there. They make a mean curry."
Sparky pulled Z's sleeve to point to Alloy, who was glowing and changing shape, "looks like he's finally evolved. They did say he was about due." Z walked over to his new Metagross and placed fraxure on his head so Alloy could carry him.
"I've never battled with another trainer before, so this was an amazing experience. Thank you," Eira said as she stood, recalling Shimmer into its ball since it was far too big for her to carry to the Pokemon Center. "I think it would be great to get some food and maybe have our Pokemon get to know each other a bit since we both have new Pokemon. Besides, lunch seems like a good break before we have our official match."
"That sounds like a great idea," said Z as he headed for the door, "I'm sure they'd like to get to know each other and it seems Wailrin and Fraxure are still good friends from when they first met back in Houndoom Hall." They walked back into the summer heat, Z handing a parasol to Eira to provide some shade for her while they walked to the pokemon center. "just a warning, Nurse Joy doesn't like when pokemon are pushed too far in battle so expect a short lecture."
"And it seems your Drapion and Grace are getting along quite well too," Eira said, gratefully taking the parasol from him. Even the little bit of shade that it provided did a lot to help her with the heat, though she was still quite a lot warmer in the shade here than when she was in direct sunlight back home. "It has been quite a while since I have met a Nurse Joy. None have come to Silvertree, so we haven't had the chance to set up a Pokemon Center yet."
Z led her inside the air conditioned building that had Audino, Chansy and Bliisy walking around helping people. At the desk was a nurse joy with slightly tanned skin and a tired expression as she read a book at her desk. She looked up as they walked up. "Another battle?" she sighed, "I assume your pokemon overdid it again?" At Z's nod she gave him a stern look, "You can't keep forcing your pokemon past their limits, they're only hurting themselves if they keep fighting without care for their own safety and it's the trainer's fault for not stopping them fro going to far and as a gym leader you should know all of this so why do you keep bringing me pokemon every time you fight that have been pushed so far that they need treatment to bring them back to full health?"
Eira was nervous to approach the nurse once she started to reprimand Z for letting his Fraxure overdo things. If she was this hostile with him and they were familiar with each other, what would she think of Eira for bringing in Shimmer? Eira wasn't able to think too much on this since Grace decided to happily run forward and try to jump up on the counter so she could meet the new person that her mama was going to talk to.
*Up!* Grace cried, jumping up and hoping that someone would help her get to where she wanted.
