Tsubame wandered aimlessly. He saw many people he did not recognize or that would fit in. Like that red haired woman in the tiara. She definitely doesn’t belong here. He shuddered. He continued looking around for people working the festival he might know. His eye landed upon a couple of cute women. He began to saunter towards them but suddenly a rush of wind blew his hair into his eyes and his hoodie he wore over his suit flopped up on his head. He turned around to see a shimmering, iridescent staryu. Kaname jumped in between Tsubame and the staryu. Using psychic, the staryu sent the note to his hands and then used rapid spin and was gone before he blinked; sending more hair into his eyes and flopping his hood back down.
He looked down the letter, it was written in beautiful but rushed calligraphy. His eyes quickly scanned their way to the signature. Eira, what a beautiful name to write in calligraphy. He tucked the letter securely in a pocket of his hoodie and went to find where some of those cute girls ran off to. He found one, with a dark braid sipping a hot beverage and he figured he’d say hello.
”Hi.” His voice was a little gruffer than he had wanted it to sound, but it was in no way offensive. He was startled for a moment, when a flaaffy stumbled by his feet. He had hoped he didn’t step on it as it bumbled to what he assumed was its trainer. ”What a sweet little flaaffy you’ve got there.” His smile was genuine.
"Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. Life's a game not meant to be won by people like me." -Tsubame
Nicole soon felt herself wandering back towards the center of the festival with a small sigh. "Well... I think we lost her... Even though she wasn't chasing us... That would have been comical, huh Nero?" She asked getting a small nod, and a small pout.
"Oh... alright. I guess we can go find Maya again if you are so keen on seeing your friend again." Nicole relented. However the sound of music cut off what she was about to say next and she decided to move towards it with Nero perking up at the sound too. "First, let's go check out where that music is coming from though."
As she walked closer she was met with the sight of a group of people dancing and looked down at Nero with a smile. "Guess this is another part of the festival huh, Nero?" She got a small nod at that and a bewildered "Vulpix" in return.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
Maya jumped in surprise, almost choking on her hot chocolate, as Bo gave an indignant bleat as someone bumped into them. She coughed a bit before turning to see a tall, dark haired man.
"Th-thanks," Maya said, raising a brow at the man. Bo meanwhile flailed her arms excitedly at the man bleating excitedly. It was her way of saying hi. She hesitated for a moment before going back to her drink. She was starting to get to the dregs of chocolate at the bottom at this point. "I'm sure she is flattered."
Eira waited patiently on her steps for Shimmer to return, knowing that her fastest Pokemon would find Tsubame in a short time frame before reporting back to her. She let her thoughts wander while she waited, thinking of just what she wanted to do soon in the village to expand on what they had going. She knew she wanted to talk to Zandrophin in hopes of opening up a trade area with Celosia so that they could get some more supplies up here that was rare to them, maybe she could get Shimmer or Sealeo to distract Mentus while they talked. She also wondered if Akane would be open to their countries trading since they were allies, or would Akane think Eirlys too small for something like that now that she had seen in?
Eira sighed, looking out across the festival in hopes of someone coming to talk to her.
As Nicole walked along the area where people were dancing she noticed she was heading over towards a hut that seemed to be the center of everything. "Did I hit the residential area?" Nicole questioned. She then shook her head, answering her own question. "Probably not since the festival seems to be going on around that hut." She muttered looking down at Nero who was staring at the hut. "What is it?"
"Vulpix! Vul, Vulpix." Nero answered motioning towards the hut. "Yes, I see there is a person there." Nicole wondered why Nero was mentioning that. Nero huffed. "Vulpix!" "Oh she has Pokemon. Let me guess, you're still pouting because I took you away from your new friend." Nicole got a look for that. "So I'm right. Fine... Why don't you understand being antisocial?" She relented moving forward. Nero cheered slightly at winning the battle of wills.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
Eira noticed a girl coming towards her with a Vulpix, a strange Pokemon to see in these parts. Eira rested her hand on Shimmer to keep it calm as the girl approached, letting it know that these people were guests and not a threat to her. She wondered who the girl was and where she came across such a cute Pokemon as her little Vulpix. "Hello Miss. Are you enjoying the festival?"
Nicole didn't answer at first, instead she eyed the Staryu wearily. After she was sure it wasn't going to attack, she nodded. "Yeah I am. It's the first one I've been to in awhile. It's this little guys first one." She answered, looking down briefly at Nero to show who she was talking about. Said Vulpix snuggled closer to her as the temperature seemed to cool down a little more.
"You okay Nero?" She asked getting a look that reflected back her question. It defiantly was getting colder out. Shaking her head, Nicole rolled her eyes, and returned her gaze back to the woman she had been talking to. "I guess I should introduce myself.... My uh... My name is Nicole." She said, pulling her manners out of their dusty corner once more. "I'm from Mauville City in Hoenn." She then looked back down at Nero. "And his name is Nero."
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
"It is a pleasure to meet you Nicole. I am Eira and this is one of my Pokemon, Shimmer," Eira introduced herself with a small curtsy to the other trainer and a kind smile. Her hand remained on Shimmer to keep the Staryu by her side as Nicole grew closer to her. "I was originally from Hoenn as well, but have called this village my home for nearly a decade now."
Nicole stopped once she was close enough to have a conversation, but far enough for personal space. "That's part of the reason I came over here. Nero wanted to see the other Pokemon." She said looking down at the Vulpix who was staring curiously at the Staryu. "He doesn't get to play with other Pokemon as often and so he is really happy whenever he can meet new ones." She commented giving a small smile at the Vulpix who was now tilting his head.
"So you were from Hoenn? There seems to be a lot of people I'm meeting from there." Nicole decided to say to change the subject. She wasn't kidding though, there were a lot of people from Hoenn on this continent.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
"Shimmer doesn't really like other Pokemon, especially ones that it is unfamiliar with," Eira told Nicole, her grip tightening slightly on Shimmer when she felt it try to move away from her side. She didn't want it to cause any trouble right now, she was actually lucky that it hadn't attacked Tsubame's Sneasel earlier when she had it go deliver her letter. "Yes, I was from Mossdeep. I haven't really met many people from the Hoenn region since coming here, but you probably have seen much more of this region than I have."
Nero was not discouraged by what Eira had said. He calmly began talking to Shimmer, introducing himself and talking about how pretty the village was. He wasn't one to give up on making a new friend until it was apparent it wouldn't work. Nicole on the other hand merely shrugged slightly.
"I actually met all of them here. I usually don't come into areas with so many people." She said looking over at the area where the people were dancing. "I prefer places I can explore. I guess that's why I keep going back to the Desert Wastes no matter where I went before."
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
Shimmer stared at Nero at he talked, but did not try to communicate back with the little Fire type. Shimmer did not like speaking, even to Pokemon that it did like, so Nero would be hard pressed to get Shimmer to respond since it did not like him or any other Fire type. Eira frowned at Nicole, wondering just how much she had traveled in the area. "Do be careful if you are going to explore Eirlys. It's a much different environment than what you may be used to. The Pokemon here can be friendly, but odds are they won't be."
Zandrophin continued to observe, still perched on his rooftop. The new kid was trying to drum up a conversation with Maya. Zandrophin could tell the man's greeting startled her.
Not a good start to a pleasant conversation.
You would know that from experience, Sir.
Funny. I want to know who he is....but I must speak with him alone...so I can really find out about him.
Zandrophin's eyes passed over the square, and landed back on Nicole. She was talking to Eira...and their Pokemon were at an impasse.
Heh...that Staryu is not happy about that Vulpix...it ought to be interesting...if things were to go south.
Zandrophin looked up at the moon and smiled. He always enjoyed the night; made disappearing even easier.
Do not fight for a cause or for what you believe in: Fight for yourself, because who you are rarely changes. Zandrophin
Nero continued with his one-sided conversation. When what he had talked about before didn't work, he started talking about how he found water fun and he liked splashing around. Then a thought hit him and he looked closer at the Staryu. "Vulpix Vul Vulpix... Vulpix?" *I have never seen a White Staryu before... Are you a Snowflake?* He began. "Vulpix Vul Vuuuuuuuulpix!" *Because if you are your reeeeeeeeally pretty!*
Nicole looked down at Nero when he made his loudest comment yet with a raised eyebrow. "What on earth has gotten into you?" She asked him getting a curious glance from the Vulpix. Nicole shook her head and looked back up at Eira. "I usually don't have to worry about that. This little guy makes friends easy. I've only had to run once or twice." She replied to Eira's concern.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
A vein seemed to pop in Shimmer as its temper went off. *I am not a snowflake, you spark of a Fire type! I am a master of an entire kingdom and you have no right to talk to me.*
Eira jumped at the angered sounds coming from Shimmer, unsure of what was going on since it never really spoke to other Pokemon. She wasn't sure what to think or do about the angered Pokemon, but she was thankful that it hadn't attacked yet. "S-Shimmer, stop it or I will put you back in your ball."
