"Well hello, I don't believe we have ever met before," Eira greeted Tsubame with a small curtsy towards him. She vaguely recognized him from around the area before, but she couldn't remember if she had ever met him before. She noticed that he had a Sneasel beside him and had to smile at the small Ice type. "You have a beautiful Sneasel. I can tell you take excellent care of him."
”His beauty pales in comparison to your own, My Lady.” he leaned over to Kaname, ”Sorry buddy.” Kaname huffed. He chuckled and focused back on Eira.
”I am Tsubame Feng. I tend to keep to myself. But people told me you’d be here and to make a name for myself.” Perhaps his honestly wouldn’t play in his favor, but he gave it a shot. Maybe he could crawl out of the pits of Eirlys society and would be able to show his queen what he could do for her and all of the people stuck where he was.
"Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. Life's a game not meant to be won by people like me." -Tsubame
Eira blushed at the compliment, thankful for the lantern light for potentially hiding it from the man in front of her. "There is no need to be so formal with me, Tsubame. I may be the queen, but, as you can see, it is not of much."
She paused to look out around the festival so she could get a feel of what was going on in that moment before she turned her attention back to Tsubame. "So what do you do? I believe I've seen you around before, but I don't spend too much time in the village outside of meetings anymore."
Tsubame needed not to see her blush. The almost unnoticeable stutter in the beginning of her sentence told him so. She seemed almost as shy as he was.
"There is no need to be so formal with me, Tsubame. I may be the queen, but, as you can see, it is not of much."
”My Lady, you are the queen over me, and I believe I’m worth something even if it’s not much. as you do so claim.” He bowed with no malice behind his words. He had a healthy respect for authority.
”As for my job, Kaname and I just find work around here which, is almost as sparse as food is. Your lovely stage actually, has some of Kaname’s own ice built into it.” Kaname straightened himself up in pride.
”In fact My Lady, I am a, well I used to be back in Sinnoh, a professional coordinator.” He had brought with him his box of ribbons. ”If I had the money I would sign up for one of your contests… but… I am not so lucky.” his tone and his eyes were dim when he looked down in shame.
"Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. Life's a game not meant to be won by people like me." -Tsubame
Eira frowned at Tsubame's words, wondering if he was alright. She gently put a hand on his shoulder with a small smile of sympathy. "Tsubame, you do not have to worry about any form of entry fee for my contests. If you are a coordinator, then I encourage you to enter any contests that we have here."
Eira paused as she went over what he had told her once more in her head. "And if you would like a job. I could always use someone to work with me. There are several odd jobs that I just don't have time for sometimes that must get done. If you are interested, the job could be yours."
”My Lady, that’s just it. The time a contest takes, the training, the preparations, everything. It takes time away from a job that guarantees I get paid.” he sighed.
Eira offered him a job with her. Tsubame’s heart rose to his throat. It was rare for him to break his cool. He looked away from her.
”What kind of jobs, M’Lady? If I remember you saying, there’s not much here.” His heart wedged itself even further into his throat. Kaname gave him a look that said you fool. I know you were hurt by that, but to repeat it will offend her. Tsubame clinched his fist in agreement.
"Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. Life's a game not meant to be won by people like me." -Tsubame
"I know that there isn't and that's why I need someone's help," Eira told him with a small smile, hoping to help him since he was one of her people and clearly needed it. "I have been discussing with a few of my friends from Celosia about expanding the village and maybe even forming a second one to the east, but I cannot coordinate everyone's efforts here by myself. I would need you to pick up some slack for me by going and checking on progress of certain projects as things progress."
Eira paused and looked at him critically for a moment. "Tell me, are you any good with calming wild Pokemon?"
”So I am to be a supervisor?” A good prospect, but he was skeptical. Eira looked upon him like he needed help, like he was a little lost puppy. He had been told to expect that expression, and most of her native Eirlys people probably needed it, but he could get by. He always did. When Eira asked him about his skill with pokemon he was taken aback.
”I suppose I’m as good as any person at calming pokemon, are you asking if I can subdue them?” His eyes flicked to Kaname. I wonder what she’s implying. I will keep my mouth shut until she explains.

Maya was happily sipping on hot chocolate, with marshmallows no less, as she walked about. To her surprise, as she walked she heard music. She followed the sound, surprised to find that people were dancing to a live band. Bo bleated excitedly, swaying along with the ebb and flow of the music and her tail wagging in time like the wand on a metronome.
"You like that?" Maya asked with a laugh, looking down at the excited Flaaffy.
"Flaaaaaafa!" She bleated, nodding and and grinning.
Maya just watched, finding herself swaying slightly as well as she continued sipping her steaming drink.
Zandrophin took an opportunity to take a step back and do one of the things he did best: observe. With Mentus back on his shoulders, Zandrophin slipped away from the crowd and, not without a bit of physical skill, got onto the roof of one of the huts. He sat and just looked out onto the square, musing over everything that had happened.
Look at them all, old friend...many are happy, content, and even ignorant of the rest of the world right now. Then there are the few who don't let the festivities distract them.
He did a mental roll call at this point...Akane and Marcus were going to dance.
This oughta be good...
Maya was drinking hot chocolate, observing the dancing. Nicole was wandering around...trying to avoid people. Z was playing the carnival games.
At last he came to Eira, who was talking with...someone.
Who is that, Mentus?...I have not seen him before.
Sir, I believe he is one of the citizens of this area. He looks too much like the other locals not to be.
We must keep an eye on him...new players to this game are always interesting.
Zandrophin remained on the roof, silently studying.

"In a sense you would be a supervisor," Eira said slowly, wondering what exactly she was wanting for him to do. She wasn't a hundred percent sure herself how things were going to grow in the area, so she couldn't be specific with what she wanted him to do. "I only ask if you were good with Pokemon because there are a lot of wild Pokemon in the area that may pose a problem if you were to be travelling."
”M’Lady, I have no trouble handling pokemon, tame or otherwise. Now beautiful women such as yourself, I have a hard time taming, but with Kaname by my side, pokemon are not an issue.”
He bowed to her. He accepted her offer, and now could maybe start going places and doing what he truly loved; contests.
”Lady Eira, I accept your proposal. I will do almost anything you ask of me, if I can even catch a glimpse of my former glory.” Kaname looked hopeful, because he too greatly enjoyed contests.

"I don't mind what you do while you are away so long as what I ask you gets done before you return," Eira said with a grateful smile, thankful that he ended up accepting the job from her. She was quite happy with Tsubame helping her now and was grateful for his help. She really did need his help with her work, she just didn't know what with just yet. "If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask me. As your new employer, I would like you to be comfortable while you are doing your work for me."
Tsubame’s heart lit up. She-she’s serious? But she didn’t actually tell me to do anything. What am I supposed to do now? Eira’s smile was kind, but Tsubame wasn’t sure what to think. he bowed to her with a simple ”My Lady.” before he wandered away. His expression was akin to confusion and pure befuddlement. How could he be comfortable with not knowing what she wanted? He looked over to Kaname.
”I hope she keeps her word buddy. Otherwise looks like it’s back to stock duty for us…”
Sneasel looked at his claws. Last time he had picked up a crate, he accidentally slit it open, spilling all of the contents of fish guts and blubber nuggets. Kaname shook his head.
”It’s okay buddy. Looks like we need to win her heart’s favor.” He ruffled Kaname’s head’s fur.

"Oh, I almost forgot," Eira murmured, pulling out one of her pokeballs so that she could bring out Shimmer since Sealeo was gone with Sofa at the moment. She stepped back into her home and wrote a quick note before putting it into a bag and hooking it on one of Shimmer's arms. "Take this to Tsubame, he has a Sneasel with him. He works for me now and I'd like him to have this note to let others know that he works for me."
Shimmer bowed slightly to her before it began to spin, travelling quickly out of the house so that it could catch up to the trainer its human wanted it to find.
