Nicole nodded at Eira's advice about the fire. Maybe she should stand near it for a while. It would make Nero happy and he would be warm too. "It was nice talking to you." She said to Eira before turning and pulling the Pokeball from her bag and crooking one of her arms in front of her chest.
"Okay Nero, you can come back out now." She said opening the Pokeball and releasing the Vulpix into the hold of her arm. Nero huffed once he was out and gave her a small glare/pout. Nicole laughed at that and put the Pokeball back on her backpack strap, then moved that arm to hold Nero as well with practiced ease. "You were the one who didn't listen to me. Don't give me that look. I can rethink going over to warm up by the fire." She said playfully. Nero's eyes widened and he reached up in her hold to give her a small lick on her cheek. Nicole laughed again. "Okay, okay. I'm going." She said moving away from Eira, but not without a small nod towards the woman first, towards the fire.
Eira nodded back at Nicole as she left, hoping that the new visitor would stay safe while she was near the village. Eira knew well from her experiences the last few years that the wild Pokemon around here did not take kindly to fires or Fire types, so people had to be careful when handling fire if they did not want to attract unwanted attention. With only a little Vulpix as her companion, Eira worried what would happen if Nicole ran into wild Pokemon in the surrounding forest. Making a note to herself to make sure that all of her friends were safe after the festival was over, where ever they each decided to stay, she looked out to the festival in hopes of someone coming to see her.
”Snowpoint City? Well that’s where I found my little Kaname here.” His smile while beaming, one could see how white his teeth were, even in comparison to his pale skin and eyes. He chuckled. ”I spent a lot of time up there, so I know it fairly well. Unless it’s changed since I’ve been there.” another small laugh like a heh.
"My name is Maya Reed."
”Beautiful name. Sounds familiar, almost like a famous poet I once or twice heard.” He scratched the back of his head with a small smirk. ”Why did you leave? You look like one of those temple girls with your hair braided like that. I’ve heard they have a pretty decent life. I know I visited that temple a few times.” A sensation of being watched crept up his spine. Pretending to flip his hair to sneak a peek, he noticed a tall man with an abra, before his attention focused back on the woman. Is he good or bad Kaname? His thoughts vocalized themselves into an almost inaudible decibel.
"Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. Life's a game not meant to be won by people like me." -Tsubame
”I spent a lot of time up there, so I know it fairly well. Unless it’s changed since I’ve been there.” ”Why did you leave?"
Maya froze and blanched at Tsubame's comment.
"Th-thank you. I-is that so?" She finally managed, voice higher pitched and slightly strained. She continued to fiddle with said braid. "W-well it's changed q-quite a bit up there..." She could still hear the thundering footsteps of a colossal Pokemon rampaging and the crunching and snapping of wooden houses and strange garbled howls. "You wouldn't even recognize it anymore..."
This was a conversation she didn't want to tread on right now. She rubbed at her arms self-consciously when she caught a glimpse of Zandrophin and Mentus.
"O-oh you know he won the contest," Maya said hastily to Tsubame as she gestured at Zandrophin. It was a hasty attempt to change the subject
”Hmm… really? Yikes. Things really do develop fast I guess.” He shook his head. He noticed her awkwardness shifted into an even deeper comfortableness. He figured he’d go with her conversational tangent. She pointed out the man with an abra.
”Really? He won? Interesting. He must be powerful. You know him personally?” Tsubame wasn’t sure about him. He looked like the business type; the type that employed people like him; the type that always mistreated their workers while they raked in all the money. Tsubame clenched his jaw to keep his cool.

Maya looked a little more relieved at the shift in conversation.
"Er kinda... we traveled up to Silvertree along with another person..." She looked down at Bo who had begun making snow angels, flailing around on her back in the snow. What a comedian. Maya smiled a little more.
"But otherwise I don't really know him... personally He is a business man I believe. And a very adept Psychic trainer. He had an excellent performance today. Beating out the rest of us anyway... But I'm not much of a coordinator."
”What a beautiful smile you have. You should wear it more often.” he chuckled after she smiled at flaaffy and let her continue.
Business man… called it. He wrinkled his brow. And he uses sketchy pokemon. He clenched his fist, but Kaname gently placed his claws next to his fist, forcing him to relax. Tsubame ruffled his head feather, and a gentle expression bubbled to the surface.

Chazz wasn't a fan of social gatherings. He is much better suited to being in a war room where people only spoke, when spoken to. He had to embrace it. Akane always pestered him to lighten up and mingle with the populous more.
For the first time in what seemed like years he was not wearing armor. Instead he wore a red and black suite. His cufflinks bore the queen's banner and his tie pin shimmered a ruby red. He had used the mane and tail, his long black hair shined like orion's belt.
He was taller than everyone attending, but he tried to remain unnoticed. Tailing behind Chazz was his Pawniard, Breakthrough. He would do the best he could to be some what sociable. He walked over and picked up a drink. He surveyed the room making mental notes of everyone there. It was habit.
Eira sighed from her perch on the steps to her home, deciding that she had waited around long enough for now and that she should go enjoy some of the festivities herself before it grew too late to do so. As she passed by stalls and throngs of people, she greeted those she knew with a simple smile and nod as she tried to find someone she was closer to and could enjoy being at the festival with.
”What a beautiful smile you have. You should wear it more often.”
"O-oh," Maya said, startled again by his words. "Th-thanks. That is v-very nice to say."
Bo had stood, proud of her misshapen snow angel on the ground and began gathering snow in her stubby pink hands.
"Good evening again, Miss Maya. I hope you are enjoying the evening."
Maya jumped, surprised to see Zandrophin and Mentus approach them. Not that it was unwelcome but it was still surprising. The first inkling of words in her head made her panic briefly before she realized it was nothing to worry about.
"Hello Zandrophin... and Mentus. I-its been interesting." She glanced down to watch Bo roll around a snow ball.

Chazz realized he had to socialize before he became "that guy" at the party. He looked at his Pawniard who chuckled at him. "Oh, be quiet you." He couldn't help to laugh as well.
He got up surveyed the room again. Across the room he spotted the Queen of Eirlys, he immediately noticed her from her clothes and Akane's description of her. He was reluctant to walk over, he didn't want to say something that started an international incident. Akane would be furious if he did. To the other edge of the room he saw another group of people talking. He weighed his options and looked upon the crowd.
”Good evening again, Miss Maya. I hope you are enjoying the evening.”
His tone was neutral, but pleasant. He seemed to be sizing Tsubame up almost as much as Tsubame was sizing him up. He flinched when the man held his arm out and the abra slid down his arm, like the floating snake it is, to present itself.
Yes...good evening Miss Maya. A good evening to you as well, Sir. Lovely weather tonight, isn't it?
Tsubame was flabbergasted, but clenched his jaw not to show it. The pokemon was just as polite and formal as its owner. Still… there’s something about them… Tsubame gave him a hard stare; almost to the point of being rude.
"I do not believe we've met, Sir…My name is Zandrophin. I hail from Saffron City in Kanto...at your service." Tsubame almost gave a snort of derision, but decided against it. Oh how he remembered all the stories about people from Saffron City. New about their shady characters and psychic type pokemon breached news headlines in every region it seemed; not to mention, the business type he loathed as much as one could loathe.
"Hello Zandrophin... and Mentus. I-it’s been interesting." The brunette was shy but revealed the pokemon’s nickname. The sole fact he had one almost instantaneously made Tsubame relax a little. Most trainers never seemed to bother giving their pokemon a term of endearment, and he looked down upon those that didn’t.
Tsubame straightened himself and made all attempts he could to push back his suspicions for the moment, only keeping his guard up for now. He stuck out his large, gnarled and severely calloused hand. He expected a very soft, scarless hand in return for his. It was amazing how much you could tell by a person’s hands.
”Evening Zandrophin. I am Tsubame Feng, and my Sneasel here, is Kaname. I am from the Sinnoh region, same as the lovely Maya over here.” He flashed a toothy grin at her, with a smug undertone to slide the conversation in a tangent about her. Although, his interest in Zandrophin grew tenfold when he realized, though not disfigured like his own hands, his hands were not as impeccable as he would have imagined; with very specific callouses.

Zandrophin took the hand that was offered. He noted the surface of the skin. A true working man. Zandrophin respected workers...the good ones knew how to do good work and thrive. This man was definitely one who could thrive, in the right line of work.
"Pleased to meet you, Mr. Feng and Kaname."
Mentus floated there for a bit....just looking at Kaname...
I'm wary to trust this species, Sir...especially one who assists a man who doubts our integrity...
Don't worry about that...we're not here to make enemies. If it makes you feel better...keep an eye on them. For now...just make nice, please.
"Where exactly in Sinnoh do you come from, Mr. Feng? Everyone here's got stories...and judging by what I've observed already...you must have quite a few interesting yarns to spin."
Zandrophin couldn't believe what he was saying...he figured his words of flattery were wasted on this man...but once his silver tongue got going...it was very hard to stop.
Do not fight for a cause or for what you believe in: Fight for yourself, because who you are rarely changes. Zandrophin
Maya resisted gaping at this scene. She could see the invisible crackles of lightning between the two, as if they were trying to size each other up. Briefly, she started at Tsubame's comment and smile and looked down at her feet ankle deep in the snow in embarrassment. This was the most flattery she had ever been exposed to and she had no idea how to react to it except look away. She at least tried to offer a sheepish smile in return before looking back down. It might have come out as a wince.
Bo was still rolling around her snowball which was now gathering and becoming bigger as she pushed it around. It was now only a little smaller than she was. She bleated happily and kept it going.
