"Well then lets begin." Prasha pulled the lever and the Airhorn began a countdown. "Good Luck after she finishes, I will be waiting in the dining room. You will challenge me in the morning." Prasha waved and headed to the far end of the stands.
Sparky nodded and grabbed the rope. She began to use her strength to pull herself up, but she wasn't as fast as she normally would be due to the other challenges taking their toll on her. She was relying on her adrenaline to keep her going as she powered her way through and looked forward to getting a good sleep after all these challenges were over. She quickly scaled the rope and reached the top, just as the buzzer sounded for the five second mark.
Prasha clapped from the doorway. "We will see you in the morning go to the Inn and I will show you to your room." Prasha left and headed across the field to the Carvahanna Spring Inn. Pom on his shoulder and Rocky following next to him. Rocky needed to be prepared against a Blaziken.
Z nodded and sparky jumped down. Volt helped the fire pokemon to walk as they headed to the inn to rest up for the gym battle that would take place the next day. They were all pumped up for the battle, even though sparky would be doing all the fighting. Z gave sparky some berry juice that would help her regain some strength so she would be ready to fight the next day, but she would need a long nap before she would be ready to fight. All the challenges took their toll on her after all.
Eira had been unsure about travelling to this remote gym so far away from the places she had grown used to, but she had heard that Z had competed here not too long ago and was wanting a chance to test out her newest Pokemon's strength somewhere. As she approached what could only be the entrance to the gym since it appeared to be the only place around that could host a Pokemon battle, she fidgeted with the pokeballs that she was carrying. In her nervousness, Eira ended up releasing the Pokemon from its ball, revealing Bullet. The Breloom jumped from one clawed foot to another in anticipation as to why they were there, ready and waiting for the battle that was to come.
"Ah! You made it. Safe travels I hope?" Prasha came into the stadium and headed toward his challenger. "I see you have selected Breloom. In your letter you said you wanted a double battle, am I correct?" Prasha approached Eira and bowed. "Welcome to my home, my masterpiece, and my little slice of heaven. A trainer's paradise."
Prasha sat down on the bench and but his leg up. Sophia popped out of the side an waltzed over. She curtsied and telepathically linked to Eira *Hello mistress Eira. Welcome to the Carvahana Springs Dojo. During the course of the first stage and throughout the battles, we have given trainers the opportunity for refreshments. Please hail me or I may simply read your thoughts about your desires.*
Eira jumped at the telepathic connection. Even though she had been training with Shimmer and its Psychic abilities, she was still not used to the connection and it made her nervous to have a Pokemon she didn't know connected to her thoughts.
"I'll, um, I'll be using Shimmer as well," she said hesitantly, trying to ignore the fact that Prasha could potentially know her thoughts with the use of his Pokemon. She released the Water type from its ball and saw that it was also raring to go after so long without a battle. "And, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I would like it if your Gothorita did not access my mind. I, uh, do not like Psychic types in my thoughts."
Sophia curtsied again and went to check on the preparations for water Pokemon. "I understand your concern, however Sophia is not allowed to access your thoughts during battle. She is very sweet and will understand if you do not desire such contact." Prasha assured.
"Now because we must flood the course for Shimmer, he will go first in the stage. If you would be so kind as to step up into my viewing box and we can get underway." Prasha turned away and headed for his booth. "These Pokemon are good choices for battle. Let us see if they have the agility to complete this course."
"It is not much of a concern for battles, but a policy that I have in my daily life," Eira explained as she followed Prasha with Bullet following behind her, his eyes on the course curiously. Eira was unsure of what kind of course with was going to be, but she had no doubt in her mind that Shimmer was going to do just find in handling whatever was thrown its way, it did take on Akane's Pokemon head on twice now after all. "Is it really necessary to flood the course just for Shimmer? It feels comfortable travelling on land just as much as in the water if that makes things easier on you."
"Madam I own this water. It is of no concern. I have pumps that pump in water then pump it back out into the lake. The only waste that comes from these are the small puddles that soak into the ground and make way for the pool." Prasha smiled and pulled the lever. Water rushed into the stadium and began flooding it. Prasha flipped a few switches and the viewing station closed and oxygen began pumping through the room. "The whole complex is run off of this. Its a new thing called hydroelectricity. The pumping of the water through the course allows every thing in the Inn, Dojo, and Pokecenter here to run without waste."
The whole Stadium was filled to the brim. Prasha flipped another switch and the roof closed making it pitch black. Prasha then flipped another 5 switches and all of the stadium was light up making the water completely see through. "There now release Shimmer through the airlock here and we will get started."
Eira couldn't help but to be quite impressed by the advanced technology that Prasha seemed to have, having never seen such fluid transitions from mechanism to mechanism with just a flip of the switch before. She guessed that money really could make the best of everything, but she was unsure of where this kind of technology was gotten so there was no way she could have implemented it in her own hall. She noticed that Shimmer, who had waited around in the course for it to fill up, was itching to go and was already pacing itself in a small circle in the water. Eira pointed towards where Shimmer was waiting to draw Prasha's attention towards it. "I believe Shimmer is read whenever you are."
"Yes The first Test. Shimmer you must fight against the current in a 200 yard swim. Ready in 3....2....1......" A horn sounded which could be heard under water marking the start. Shimmer had exactly 1 minute to do this course in then it would receive a 2 minute rest to regain its strength before heading onto the next stage. "Good Luck!!!" Prasha sat back and watched the Starmie attacking the course. Prasha was ready to defend his badge yet again. He had the perfect team ready to push both Bullet and Shimmer to the best of their abilities. It all came down to exact will power.

Shimmer took off down the lane the moment the horn sounded, its back half spinning rapidly to give it the speed boost that it needed when going through water. Eira breath caught as she watched Shimmer slice through the water like the distance was nothing for it, the only indication of where it was in the water being the brilliant red ring around its gem. She had nearly forgotten that Shimmer used to command the entire lake near their home before it joined her team, so clearly it would have no problem flying through the water like this. Shimmer spun as it landed at the end of the course, clearly proud of itself for clearing the course. Eira glanced around for some kind of a timer to let her know how long it had taken Shimmer to complete the course, feeling that it couldn't have been too long since it had started.
"It wont be that easy." Prasha thought he pulled a lever and more water and current pushed against Shimmer slowing the Starmie down. Prasha wanted to see if Shimmer could punch through this and come out the other side of the stage as a victor. The water roared and swept Shimmer a bit off course. The Horn sounded marking 45 seconds left of the course. Prasha let go of the lever and put his hand on the second lever that would be activated at 30 seconds left.
Eira jumped at the sudden rush of water, having thought that Shimmer had finished already, but she guessed that Prasha was not going to be the type that had simple tests for his badge. Why have these tests, Eira wasn't sure. She could only think that he must not be confident in his Pokemon if he had to make his opponent's Pokemon tired before the battle even started.
Shimmer was flung back a bit at the sudden rush of water, but managed to catch itself easily enough before flinging itself back against the current. Shimmer couldn't help but to feel that this little test was nothing compared to the ice that it used to have to swim against and often continued to train with when it had the time. If anything, this test was insulting and a waste of time before the real battle started.
