The Air horn blasted signalling that Sparky had used 25% of the time given to complete the course. Prasha was impressed by the agility of Sparky. How well she would do in the coming challenges would all be up to her bond with her trainer. Prasha looked at the clock 45 seconds left on the clock. I bet she can do it but at the 25 second mark the drop will decide if she can move onto the Second Stage. Prasha reached for his lever switch and cradled it in his hands watching the Pokemon.
Sparky continued to climb until she was out of the trench and then kept running toward the end. Z watched her eagerly, hoping that they would be able to move on to the next challenge. Z's team continued to cheer for her, hoping that she would win. Scorpio, Haxorus and Volt were even doing the wave, getting odd stares from Tsurara, as she was the most dignified out of the bunch of them, simply watching and waiting with her regal stance. She really liked acting like a dignified noblewoman and took cues from akane whenever she and Z crossed paths in her companion's travels across the land. Z smiled, knowing that Sparky was doing fine. He knew she was the most driven member of his team. Little Kenichi stood next to him, watching his mother figure perform physical feats that the young fighting type hoped to copy one day. He waved his own flag, that, due to his small stature, was almost as big as him, as he cheered for her.
The Air Horn sounded again marking 30 seconds left. Sparky got closer and closer to the Drop. Prasha got ready and hoped that Sparky could complete the challenge. She would be a very good match for Rocky. Both were fast and could make for a close, fun, and exhilarating battle. Prasha Popped a cigarette into his mouth and lit it. His chair was all to comfortable. He relaxed at the thought of someone actually capable of challenging him.
Z smiled as Sparky neared the finish line of the obstacle course. He knew this kind of workout would be nothing compared to the hard labor she put into helping the miners dig the new mine shafts that brought the income to their town. Z smiled, maybe he could propose a trade agreement with prasha once this is all over. win or lose, a trade agreement could bring profit to both their gyms. Z smiled and continued to watch while his team cheered for Sparky's success in their own ways. Kenichi had even gone and tied a banner between Scorpio's claws and a flag to his tail that said Success, and Win, respectively. Sparky smirked as she neared the finish line, but she was still wary. She remembered the sudden appearance of the trench and was now expecting something else along those lines. She focused more on the task at hand, than on the time remaining, in order to keep her senses aware and to stave off any panic.
The last lever was pulled as Sparky neared the finish line. The drop pulled back and a gap deeper then the one before showed from the artificial earth. Prasha was very interested to see if Sparky could make it. Prasha took the final drag from his cigarette and put it out on the ash tray in his viewing Box. The Air horn sounded as the 15 second warning gave off. The finish line was right at the opposite end of the gap.
(Sorry I literately just got notified about your post)
Sparky gained a look of concentration and increased her speed. She shot toward the edge of the gap with a plan in mind. when she reached the edge, she jumped off, but before she could fly too far from the wall, she slammed her legs into it with all her strength, effectively kicking off the wall and sending her flying across the gap at high speed. After that, she simply walked across the finish line with a smirk. Z smiled at her solution to the problem. He knew she was one of his strongest Pokemon physically and should have known that she would use that to get across the trench. She used that technique when helping dig in the mine shafts, by kicking off of the ground with all her strength in order to shoot herself into the air so she could jump out of the shaft. Z's team cheered as Sparky crossed the finish line, waving the pennants that they were holding. Z got off of Alloy and walked forward to check on sparky and to hear what the next challenge would be.
Prasha came down from the box and clapped. "Very good show. You deserve a few minutes rest before heading to the next Stage. When you are ready arrive at the Stage two start and we will get underway." Prasha congratulated the two and proceeded back to his box. Pom attached to his shoulder he sat in his chair and twirled his kukuri. Things were about to be very interesting.
Prasha voiced over the P.A. "Stage two is ready when you are. I hope Sparky is claustrophobic, the tunnel is small."
"Thank you," said Z, "We'll take some time to rest." Z helped Sparky to the side so she could take a small rest before the next trial. She was only a tiny bit tired due to her physical training so she just needed to have a drink and rest her muscles. Z gave her a pokemon sport drink while Kenichi gave her a cool towel to dry off some of her sweat. Sparky was proud that she had been able to do so well in the first challenge and was looking forward to the next one. She was confident that she would be able to win the challenges so her trainer and partner could challenge the gym for the badge.
Prasha sounded over the P.A "Time to get ready there, Sparky. Stage Two will begin shortly." Pom jumped up on the P.A dashboard to get a better view of the tunnel. "Pom!!" He exclaimed sticking a leaf in his mouth. Yes buddy it will be hard for him."
Prasha pulled the air horn lever to signify 1 minute until the start of the second stage. Prasha settled in and voiced "Ready when you are."
"Are you not even going to tell us what the second stage is?" asked Z as sparky got into position, "it would be good to know what our goal is this time so we aren't just running in blindly." Sparky had rested up and some berry juice had brought her energy back, but she too wanted to know just what she had to expect in the next challenge she would have to face. It wasn't fun going into a competition not even knowing what is expected of you. that usually leads to people losing.
Prasha said into the P.A system. "I told you, hope Sparky doesn't like small spaces. The Tunnel is next." Prasha smiled. "See you on the other side." The Air Horn sounded marking thirty seconds until Stage two began. Prasha pulled the second lever and the tunnel opened. Only a few feet across and a few feet tall it was a test of will power. Most pokemon froze when they came to this point.
Sparky smirked. She was used to helping out in the mine shafts, so a long dark tunnel was nothing new to her. she ignited the flames that were on her wrists and used them to provide some light in the dark. she got into a ready stance to launch herself into the tunnel. she may be a bird, but being underground and in the dark was no big deal to her, or to any of Z's pokemon, as they all have helped out in the mines...except rodan. she was too big to fit in the tunnels.
The Air Horn sounded to began the second stage. Prasha leaned back in his chair to watch if this pokemon had the strength to make it through. The tunnel would get tighter and tighter toward the end as well as very tight pillars blocking the way of the pokemon. It would be an interesting second stage.
Sparky shot forward, using her flames to light the way so she wouldn't hit a wall or an obstacle. She ran as fast as she could, thankful that she trained hard to be in the best physical condition that she could be in. She remembered that this was a fighting type gym and because of this, she looked forward to proving her strength against another fighting type. She wanted to win Z a badge to be displayed on the plaque in his gym where all the special badges he won are.
Prasha's hand was on the lever and he pulled it sending a pillar smashing in the way of Sparky. There would be 8 more pillars like this and if she could get around all oif them she would be able to advance to the third stage. Prasha kept a keen eye on Sparky and knew that she would be a great match for Rocky.
