"We'll be fine. We've always enjoyed the cold. Besides...we don't plan on being out there too long...and even if something happens, we're resourceful enough to make it through the night. I believe that girl came here to compete in a contest of some sort. We saw the contest hall on our way in; we'll make sure she gets there. Until we meet again."
Zandrophin was out the door before anyone could say anything else. A man on a mission has little time to waste talking.

Maya ran inside and frantically apologized to the people she startled as she pulled Bo away from their dinner.
"Bo no!" She shouted as she tugged away the bleated mareep. Bo was probably hungry but this wasn't helping matters... She quickly unearthed her pokeball and Bo vanished inside in a flash of light. The people in the hut stared at her in a mixture of anger, confusion, and shock.
"So sorry," she said, fleeing the hut. Once outside she took a deep breath and sighed. "Wonderful introduction to these people, really... Scaring them with a hungry fluff ball.... Who gets scared of a mareep?" She looked around not entirely sure where she was in relation with the rest of the village but tightened up her fuzzy hoodie and gloves and tried to follow her footsteps in the snow back.
Zandrophin went outside the hut, and the wind Eira mentioned struck him in the face like a rock.
This storm is getting worse, Sir.
I noticed. Look...Maya's footprints, I think.
Whosever they are, Sir, they're beginning to vanish. We must follow them quickly if we are to have any hope of finding her.
If she tries to retrace her steps, she's bound to get lost...if they're being covered up here, they're definitely going to be getting covered wherever she wound up. Mentus, try to find her.
Zandrophin began to run, following the tracks while he still could.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish I had that walking carpet's nose right about now...

Maya stopped as a fierce wind almost blew her hoodie off. "Well sh*t," she said, looking around. The storm had picked up, snow blowing into her face and stinging her skin and her footprints had vanished. In fact everything around her was turning pure white even the air.
She had been stuck in a storm back home before like this. She had a couple options here but...
"I swear to Arceus, Bo if you run off again I will shave you," she said to the pokeball she unearthed. Out came Bo again, a little stunned at the sudden change in weather. "I have no idea where we are right now but if your would give me a hand here?"
"Maaaa!" Bo bleated in confirmation.
"Signal Beam!"
A bright rainbow stream shot out from the gem on her tail, straight into the sky, slicing through the whiteness like a beacon in fog.
Damn this ice and snow...can't see a thing. Mentus? Anything you picking up anything.
Yes, Sir...an energy release! There! Up there, Sir...that light in the sky. Maya's Mareep must be using signal beam...I've never seen it used in such a way. She must be really lost, Sir. We need to hurry.
No arguments there. Come on!
Zandrophin took off in the direction of the beam of light. He tore through a few trees, some underbrush, and a ton of snow. He had to find this girl. He wasn't sure why, he just knew he had to.
Then, he saw her, holding her Mareep tightly. He called out through the wind,
"MAYA!"

Maya heard the voice and almost immediately recognized it.
"ZAN?!" She called out into the whiteness, turning towards the sound and squinting. Oops. She hadn't meant to shorten his name like that but that was the first thing that came to mind. She could see him approaching, his abra with him. She held onto Bo tightly who was still giving it her best with the signal beam.
"Turn down the signal beam for now," Maya coughed inhaling snow as she trudged toward Zandrophin and the beam tapered off.
"Good thing your Mareep knows Signal Beam...that helped a lot. Are you alright? We need to get out of this storm...it's only going to get worse. There were some trees back there, we can take down some of the branches and create a windbreak. Mentus should be able to get them down."
Then, Zandrophin had another idea. He had to risk it. He activated the Dive ball. Squirt was not happy about being in the snow, but Zandrophin didn't have time for that.
"Squirt, see those four big trees over there? Can you create an ice wall between each with Ice Beam? It doesn't have to be anything too large, we just need to be able to hide behind it."
"Squirtle! Squirt, squirtle!"
"Good man...get to it."
Squirt did as he was asked and managed to create a wall 2 feet high in a rough box formation. Zandrophin and Mentus proceeded to tear down some branches and form a kind of roof. He called to Maya,
"Get in here...we'll be safer here than out there!"
He relayed a message to Eira,
I've found her. She's safe. We can't get back at this time. We'll see you at the contest hall.
Eventually, Zandrophin fell asleep, the strain of the day finally coming to bear on him

Eira jumped in surprise at the message that Zandrophin relayed to her out of the blue. She had to admit that she had been a bit worried for him and the girl he had gone to find since the blizzard had rolled in and there tended to be very little protection from storms once you left the village. She glanced towards her door and actually contemplated going out with Spheal to find them, but decided against it when she realized that Zandrophin was probably making sure that they were fine enough wherever they were. It would be stupid of her to try to leave now when she had two guests to care for and a contest to plan for the next day.
"Trust me she is a god send," she said following him to the make shift shelter. "And I'm fine I think." Maya huddled behind the ice wall, holding onto Bo and her warm wool. Her teeth chatted and her fingers hurt but she could feel everything and that was important. The wind howled but they were otherwise secure.
"Hey I think..." She paused as she realized that Zandrophin actually fell asleep. "Hey wait you shouldn't..." She sighed. She moved a little closer to him and placed Bo between them, hoping her wool would provide more insulation. Maya rubbed her gloved hands through her wool until it proofed out a little more and crackled faintly with static. She secured her hood and gloves again.
"Our hair will be crazy in the morning but this is for the best," she said to no one in particular as she cuddled Bo and also fell asleep.
Zandrophin woke with a start and saw that Maya was nowhere to be found.
Mentus...she slipped away from us...damn it.
It's alright, Sir...she's at what appears to be the contest hall for this village.
Good...that's where we wanted her....we need to report back.
Yes, Sir.
"Lady Akane...I've found the village. In fact, I'm planning on competing in the contest that's to occur in a few days. I'm asking Mentus to send you a mental picture of a map with the village's location on it...just look for a large, lone tree. That's the marker."
His message relayed, Zandrophin stood and made his way to the village.

Akane hated this place. The wind was freezing, and it didn’t help she was flying very fast on her charizard’s back through a blizzard it seemed. At least her charizard was warm. The queen was sent a telepathic message from Mentus, Zandrophin’s abra.
Lady Akane...I've found the village. In fact, I'm planning on competing in the contest that's to occur in a few days. I'm asking Mentus to send you a mental picture of a map with the village's location on it...just look for a large, lone tree. That's the marker.
Akane laughed. Little did Zandrophin know, Akane was going to compete as well. She had made a bargain with the royal of Eirlys. She laughed heartily again, which alarmed her guards flying and riding in her vicinity. She figured she was too far away to tell him that, so she waited for his surprise at her physical appearance in the last place he’d suspect her to be.
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
Maya stood, looking up at the contest hall. "Whoa," she murmured.
"Maaaaa..." Bo bleated in agreement, before running circles in the snow in excitement.
Maya was happy to wake up early and find that her limbs had not fallen off and Zandrophin was still asleep. She was grateful to him, she really was but she didn't want to wake him and frankly it was somewhat... Awkward. He was a very unusual person and Maya didn't even know how to go about thanking him. She made a mental note to thank him someday, considering she owed him two thanks. So she got up and left, ending up here.
Eira woke before the sun even rose on the snow covered village, waking her sleeping partner once she found him underneath all of the fur blankets on her bedding. Deciding that she had to dress nicely for the contest, she dressed in one of the gowns that she had actually asked to be made for her for special occasions. Once dressed, she headed for the outskirts of the village so she could walk around the village and avoid everyone waking up as she headed for the contest hall.
Z woke up in the room Eira had provided to find that his two pokemon had cuddled up to him while he had been sleeping. Sparky was hugging his arm and cuddling into it like a pillow and Axew was curled up on his chest. With a chuckle, Z freed his arm from Sparky's grip and lifted Axew of his chest. he then got up and stretched before waking his two partners up from their slumber and putting on his cloak. They then decided to head out and get ready for the contest that was coming up by practicing their contest moves outside so that no building s would be damaged.
Marcus lay under all his blankets undisturbed the entire night, Z having been quiet in his entry and exit of the room. Sofa had sat out in the main living area because Lex had decided to sit by the fire until he fell asleep. Having decided against moving him, Sofa just got close to share his body heat with the little baby pokemon while they slept on the floor. He woke up when Eira left, but went right back to sleep; he got up when Z left, feeling it was time to start the day. Accidentally stirring Lex, they both got up for some breakfast. As Lex ate, Sofa went to check on his trainer's condition.
From the door, Sofa could see a huge clump of pelts in the middle of the bed, and a foot sticking out of the side of it. A light rise and fall was emanating from the clump showing Marcus was still breathing. Sofa wanted to wake up Marcus so they wouldn't miss the contest, but it wasn't really a life or death situation; which is exactly what Marcus said had to be the only reason to stir him. Twisting his face in frustration like Marcus always does, Sofa let his trainer sleep a bit longer; hoping he would wake up before it was too late to enter...
