"Zandrophin is coming as well?" Eira asked, her voice growing tight with worry at the news that the strange contestant was also going to be making an appearance in her village. When she had invited her friends to come see her, she hadn't expected him to come along as well and was worried about how he might try to alter her peaceful life away from the rest of the world. It was bad enough when new people came to the village and decided to stay after they rested up, she didn't need someone like Zandrophin to come in and change everything.
Zandrophin wandered into the village...still trying to get the ringing out of his ears from the teleportation.
No matter how many times we travel this way, I'll still never get fully used to that ringing. That girl Maya took off like a shot...didn't even say thank you for the quick jump we did. Rude...
It's alright, Sir. Everybody made it safely. We should try to find out where she went...perhaps this large hut?
Zandrophin figured it was as good a place to try as any. He began to slowly make his way up to the hut, when he saw Maya heading towards the same place...
I must be going in the right direction...

Just as she was approaching the large hut, which looked promising, Bo suddenly began to squirm and bleat in her arms.
"Maaaaaa!" It said, and with one jump it sailed out of her arms and took off into the snow.
"Wait! Urgh... Sh*t. D**n it, Bo get back here!" Maya called, taking off after her. Bo just skipped along, saying hi to people and ice pokemon before bolting off again.
"How are you so fast for a mareep!?" She called after it. "Stop!"
Bo finally skid to a stop, shaking snow off and... Bolted into somebody's hut. Maya groaned in frustration as somebody screamed.
Zandrophin couldn't help but laugh at what he'd just seen. Maya was almost to the hut, when her sheep jumped out of her arms and ran off.
Mareep are quite stupid, Sir...to put it bluntly. She may be gone for a while.
Well, let's go see if Lady Eira will let us into her humble abode. She is, at worse, neutral about us...which may help.
Agreed, Sir. If Marcus ran this place...we'd be stuck right here. He is in the hut, by the way.
Good, the fearless leader made it.
Zandrophin walked up to the door, brushed off what snow still remained on his coat, and knocked somewhat forcefully upon it...hoping someone would answer.

Eira jumped at the knock on her door, not used to someone actually knocking on her door instead of barging right in to talk to her about things she did not care for. She crossed the room to open the door and nearly decided to close the door the second she saw who was on the other side. "H-Hello Zandrophin. What a surprise it is to see you here. Won't you come in and get warm?"
As soon as Eira opened the door, Zandrophin could tell she was not ecstatic to see him. He spoke calmly and evenly, trying to loosen some of the tension,
"Terribly sorry for intruding. I can tell by the look on your face and the quiver in your voice that you were not expecting me to be here. However, I can only assume Marcus is here...and if he is, he no doubt told you I'd be coming. So, perhaps it's not that you weren't expecting me to arrive at all, but rather that you weren't expecting me to arrive so soon."
Before entering the building, he bowed to his host saying,
"Thank you for allowing me in. May I hang my coat somewhere, or should I just hold on to it? I don't mind, either way...you're the host."

"Marcus did mention that you would be coming, though he didn't tell me that you would be arriving so soon," Eira told him, smiling weakly at him as she took his coat. "I have plenty of blankets and food that you may have to help warm you and your Pokemon up. The journey up here is not an easy one and I'm sure you could use the break from what I have heard from Marcus' telling of your journey."
Zandrophin chuckled at her concern for his safety and health. He replied.
"I'm not worried about me, I don't mind the cold...it's much better here than in Celosia for me, weather-wise."
Mentus slid off of Zandrophin's shoulders, and bowed to Eira.
Pleasure to see you again, Lady Eira. Your quaint village is lovely.
Zandrophin pulled out the custom Dive ball, fiddling with it in his hand.
"As for these two...I'm fairly certain they would greatly appreciate any bit of hospitality. We never ask for much from others; anything you can spare, no matter how small, is appreciated."
Looking down at the Dive ball, Zandrophin said,
"Alright, Squirt...come out and meet your host. She's opened up her home to us, be respectful..."
Zandrophin activated the Dive ball. Squirt appeared on the floor, shaking slightly. He bowed to his host.
"Looks like your ball wasn't insulated well enough. I'll fix that when I get the chance."
"Now, then," he said, turning to Eira, "where shall we sleep for the night? A spot on the floor is fine with us...just so long as we're not outside."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, little one," Eira said cheerfully, happier to see the young Water type than to see its trainer. Eira glanced over to the room in which Marcus was sleeping for a moment before she addressed Zandrophin once more. "There is a room that is available that should have plenty of room and keep you warm enough, but you would have to share it with Z and Marcus. I'm not sure if you two are on better terms, but that is what is available to you right now since I don't have many other rooms."
"I'm not entirely sure about how Marcus feels about me. Rather than cause a row inside of your house, I'd rather just stay in here, if that's alright. Mentus and I can keep an eye on things if you'd like to get some rest. Squirt is really the only one who needs to get some sleep, the cold did a number on him. We saw a girl coming here on our way up, but her Pokemon took off and she had to go chase it down. If she comes back, we can let her in. Where should we direct her? No doubt she'll want food and a place to sleep."
Zandrophin paced around the room, unsure of what to do with himself until instructed.

"Oh, well, you don't have to do anything. I'm sure that girl must be the one Marcus told me about," Eira said meekly, unsure of how to address Zandrophin. On one hand, she really wanted to go back out to the forest and try to find a trail she had discovered, but, on the other hand, she didn't want to leave her home alone with him in charge of it. She didn't normally open her home up to people and she was worried that people would come in as they pleased if he was left here to greet people. "You can stay in here if you wish, but it gets much colder in here at night than it does in the other rooms."
"I wouldn't worry about us, lass. Besides...if it gets too uncomfortable...we'll just go into the kitchen and start a fire/turn on a stove or oven...forgive me, I am ignorant as to how your kitchen is furbished. Bottom line is this: don't worry about us. We'll be fine.
Why is she so concerned about us, Sir? She was not terribly happy to see us before...why not just send us away?
She's not like that, old friend...she can't send someone out there to die. Perhaps we can assist her, though.
Zandrophin turned to Eira.
"We have a rough idea as to which direction that girl went. It is obvious to me that you do not trust me enough to go to sleep while I'm here, which is understandable. We volunteer to go and find the girl, and bring her back here."

"I ask that you do not start a fire at any point during the night or even during the day, because it will attract unwanted attention from more aggressive wild Pokemon than the ones that you see around already," Eira warned him sternly, having had the oh so wonderful experience of being attacked by wild Ice types that did not take to fires being set in their territory. "It's not that I don't want to go to sleep while you are around, it's just it's a tad early for me to be sleeping as it is. If you would go get her though, that would be nice. I'm sure Marcus would appreciate knowing that she is safe and sound when he wakes up."
Zandrophin put his coat on, Mentus secured inside the neckline. He looked at Squirt, who looked right back at him, a confident look on his face.
"I suppose you want to come along as well, eh?"
"Squirtle!"
"Alright, come on."
Zandrophin activated the Dive ball and Squirt vanished.
"Right...we'll find her. If, for some reason, we can't get back here...I'll get a message to you. If you receive such a message, don't send a party out to retrieve us...I get the feeling this girl doesn't want you to meet her quite yet. Wait for our message."

"Oh, okay," Eira said softly, unsure of what kind of message he was meaning. She looked around her hut for a moment before her eyes went back to his coat. "If you want, I can let you borrow some of the fur that I have here so you are a bit warmer than just in that coat. It's been a bit windy today, so it's better to bundle up and try to block the wind out."
