"So this is Silvertree village," said Z, "It's a nice place, once you get past the cold." Sparky decided to have some food as well and Z handed her a jar of homemade food for her and Axew to eat. The two pokemon happily dug into Z's home cooking and ate heartily. "Thank you for the soup," said Z, "it was just what I needed." Z stood and walked over to the fire where his pokemon were lounging after having eated their food. He took off his cloak and hung it to dry by the fire while he sat in the warmth. "It's a nice hut though."
"It's the best in the village," Eira told him with a small smile, just happy to have her friends around her again. It was a strange feeling for her, the feeling of actually enjoying people's company, but it was a good feeling she decided. "For now, this is our acting palace so it has to be nicer than everyone else's home. At least, that's what everyone kept telling me when they built it for me when all I wanted was a fireplace added in so I could cook indoors when I wanted."
Spheal rolled around the hut excitedly, wanting to play with all of his friends and also wanting to distract Sofa from the feeling he had gotten earlier.
"That's nice, that's nice; but I still need a place to sleep. Even an empty room in the competition hall will do now, as long as I have enough material to keep me from freezing to death. Just a soft place I know I will wake up from will do. I don't do well with not having slept for days." Marcus could feel the sleep deprivation and fatigue finally start to seep in, his body feeling like it was going limp and useless. "You two can stay here if you want, as long as you don't cause trouble for miss Eira. Listen to her, okay? While I'm asleep, she's in charge." Marcus turned to Lex smiling, "I'm talking specifically to you, Alexander." Lex bounced up and down in agreement, grinning as always. Pointing towards Sofa, Marcus talked without looking at his target, "I don't have to tell you that, do I?" Sofa saluted half-heartedly and gave his "Vig" of approval. "Good."
sparky glanced at Z, "Buskin." "Alright, you can stay with me," said Z, "and before you ask, you can too, Axew," said Z. Axew jumped up and hugged Z with sparky doing the same. "I love you guys too," said Z and Sparky cuddled up to Z more with a smitten look on her face. Z chuckled as He held Sparky. Axew ran up to the other pokemon to try and make friends. "Axew ax ax Axew." *I'm Axew, want to be friends? * He asked happily as he bounced, filled with energy. Z glanced at his starter and smiled as he tried to make more friends.
"I have an extra room that you two can sleep in while you are here if you want to," Eira suggested to the two boys as she took in the fact that no one else would probably have the room and that the contest hall was not equipped to have people sleep in it. "There should be plenty of room for the two of you and your Pokemon to sleep comfortably in and I even have some spare blankets and pillows you can use from my room."
"Thank you for your hospitality," said Z as Axew ran to introduce Spheal to Sparky. "Ax Ax ax Axew." said Axew, *this is sparky. the one I was talking about.* Z shrugged, "I travel light so all I own is in my pack. Once my cloak dries, it makes a pretty good blanket." He watched as Axew introduced spheal to Sparky, "how has little spheal been doing? He seems quite well." Z looked around the hut, trying to take in every detail and commit it to memory so he would be able to recall the fun he would have in the village. he even saw a sign mentioning a contest.
"Okay, bed time now sleep happen do..." Marcus babbled as he went to Eira's guest room to sleep. "No waking me up except for life or death emergency. Trust me, you will not like the reaction you get if you do." And with a thud letting the others know he had fallen on the bed, Marcus was out and asleep.
Sofa turned to the others and nodded quickly, confirming Marcus' statement about not wanting to wake him up as not being an empty threat.
"Will you take him some extra blankets, Sofa? It gets extremely cold in that room since it is on the thinner wall," Eira asked, holding out some fur pelts that acted as blankets in the village. Many of them were extremely soft and it always made Eira wonder what Pokemon the pelts came from, though she was glad she never knew. "Spheal has been incredibly happy to be back here in the ice and out of the heat from the south. He missed everyone, but he had a lot of Pokemon up here to keep him preoccupied."
*You're odd looking,* Spheal said to Sparky, not understanding how her feathers could be such a bright orange.
Signa hugged herself tighter as she walked into the village the pinkette mumbling about the coldness. Glancing at her bag she smiled slightly"Not to mention that someone isn't much help here but thanks to whatever divine being made me bring my winter coat" she said to herself the image of her Dratini poking around her head, walking along she wondered how in the world anyone would be able to survive the Tundra she stumbled upon without a fire type.
Sofa took the blankets from Eira and took them to the guest room obediently. Sure enough, Marcus was out cold. Sofa covered Marcus with the blankets as he was told and returned to the rest of the group. Lex was perfectly content to sit by the fire, rocking his feet back and forth as he sang a little nonsense tune to himself.
Shaking his head at the little baby Pokemon, Sofa went to Eira again to offer his assistance with anything else she might need him to do, pulling gently on her coat like a child to get her attention.
Eira looked at Sofa curiously only to find him eagerly awaiting for something else to do for her, making her smile slightly at him. "I may need your help in a bit, Sofa. We should be receiving the hunting teams back soon from their trips, so there will plenty to do that you can help with if you want."
Spheal looked up at Sofa with a frown, not liking that the large Pokemon could help his Eira while he couldn't just yet.
"WAITWAITWAITWAITWAITWAITWAIT....wait." Marcus was up again, one of the pelts still clinging to his shoulder, eyes still half-closed. "Wait...you." Marcus said as he pointed to Eira, "Do you know anyone who goes by the last name Reed? Maybe says she's some kid's aunt? I came here with a girl, they went ahead of me; I was...She saw the huge tree and went ahead. I was too tired to run. Also, zandrophin's here. He had Mentus teleport them once they saw the tree. So....yeah, woman, Reed, aunt, know?"
"I haven't seen anyone like that. Honestly, you were the first person I saw today," Eira told him after she got over the shock of seeing him awake so suddenly. He seemed very concerned for this girl, so maybe they were close to each other, she couldn't be too sure. "I could have a search and rescue party go out and try to find her in case she is lost, but there really isn't much else we can do here if someone is trying to travel and gets lost."
Maya so happy she was almost giddy as she looked at the petrified tree. Almost.
"It's cold, Bo!" She said excitedly to the mareep at her side. "It's actually cold! And there is a lake like Lake Acuity!"
"Maaa!" Bo said, shaking snow of her wool, happy as well. Dororo was safely tucked into his pokeball. He couldn't handle the cold very well even at home.
"It's just like home except not, you know not destroyed!" She said that almost bitterly. Bo agreed sadly.
"Well that's enough of that. Let's get somewhere warm Bo," Maya said, heaving Bo out of the snow as she was quickly vanishing under it. "You think they have a poke center here or something?" She said, trudging off to look for a hut that could be a Poke Center. She briefly wondered if the others made it. She got the feeling they did.
"No, she's fine; I'm looking for the aunt. Older than us, but not that old. Probably dark skin. Last name Reed. Ask around for me. Back to bed." Marcus turned around and returned to his sleep, "Don't freak out when zandrophin comes by trying to intimidate you." A familiar 'flop' sound was heard as Marcus was out cold again. Sofa got up and grabbed the pelts that had fallen off his friend and returned them to their original place.
