Eira watched from her seat as the stage was polished and cleaned up by Ice types and their trainers, her excitement clear as she waited for the doors to open and her newest contest to begin. She hoped that she could see some of her friends once again since the winter months had made travel to Eirlys nearly impossible for a typical traveler. Yet the coming of Spring had made things much easier for the residents and Eira wished to make a new announcement at the close of this festival, so she had once again invited the people of Celosia to their little kingdom. She couldn't stand the wait though, even with Grace playing in her lap.
Z walked into the familiar halls of Lapras Lounge, wrapping his cloak around himself as he did. he wore a winter coat he had bought using earnings from his gym and wore his old cloak over it. he looked forward to testing himself here once again and hoped Eira had made the stage out of something more sturdy than ice this time around. he knew scorpio was looking forward to seeing grace again, though sparky was still a bit sore about her loss at their gym.
A soft smiled played up the corners of the red lady’s lips. Last time she had graced the weakly built hall with her presence, she had been very flamboyant. Not this time though, no. this time she intended to strike awe into her ally’s people. Not the bloodthirsty nature she had revealed while ruthlessly destroying any chance Maya had at winning. Her gait was elegant, her face was stone, and as if she were doing it intentionally, her intimidating aura was at its maximum. All of which was according to plan, but it seemed to melt as anticipated upon seeing her ally’s face.
”Evening Lady Eira,” a courteous royal bow, as customary to the queen, ”I hope you are well after the incident at Houndoom Hall?” The red queen flicked her eyes to scan Eira’s ankles. Next to her, Silas was as serious as ever. His serious nature too, added to Akane’s pressure she placed upon each passing person’s shoulders; strutting proudly like a lion as he so often did.
Z walked toward the desk where he would register for the upcoming contest and put down his current team and his trainer information. once that was done he let Sparky and Haxorus out of their balls so they could look around. Sparky now wore a wristband with a stone set into it and Z wore a similar one on his wrist as well. he was eager to test out his new pokemon in a contest setting so he could see how they would match up in a contest battle as opposed to a gym battle.
"Oh, good evening Akane," Eira replied with a large smile as she noticed her friend and fellow queen. Seeing Akane's eyes move towards her ankles, Eira shifted the hem of her gown to show that she was once again in heels with no sign of the injury that had occurred the last time the two of them were together. "As you can see, I am fully healed now and am ready to see what tonight will hold. Are you participating this evening?"
”Glad to see those heels. Royalty really does look better in only the highest fashion.” She smiled and laughed politely. ”Yes, I do believe I’m participating this time. Any excuse for a break away from work is a good enough excuse for me. Plus, I also get to visit with my ally and friend, which is for the most part, pleasant. You remember dear Silas?” The lion pokemon proudly straightened his posture and looked Eira directly in her eyes.
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
"Yes I do and he is looking wonderful today. Quite the extra bit of spark in his coat and everything," Eira complemented, smiling warmly at her friend's partner. Eira then motioned to a cushioned chair beside her as way of offering it to Akane. "The contest won't be starting for a while, so why don't the two of you relax a bit here so we can chat and catch up? It has been a while since we last saw each other after all."
Z headed to the waiting area, looking to see if he could spot anyone that he recognized in the crowd. He saw Eira and Akane talking and walked over to greet them. "Good day, miladies." he said with a formal bow to both of them, "It has been a while since we were in halls like this together. I hope I can put on a good show this time around." Z then let scorpio out of his ball and the scorpion pokemon walked over to grace upon seeing the little pokemon.
Mariko looked around the ice hall that was part of the contest hall she had traveled to get to. This was her first time out of Pyron, and to be honest she already missed the warmth. Above her, cowering from the cold were Celeste and Luka, while in her arms was Snowdrop who seemed content to sleep in her Kimono sleeve covered arms. She had pulled out her old Theater Kimono to wear today since it was the only really formal thing she owned. She only wished she had remembered to bring something warm to wear over it. Seriously... It never got this cold where she was from, so the cold was eating her from the inside out.
"Good evening Z," Eira greeted with a smile at the younger trainer that she hadn't seen in quite some time. She wouldn't admit this in front of Akane, but she had taken a liking to Z, almost like he was her little brother in some ways, though she would never claim to know how that truly felt being an only child. "I'm glad you could also make it here tonight. Are you performing for us?"
Grace squealed happily when she was picked up, very happy to see her big brother figure again.
"I shall," said Z, "I have some new friends that would put on quite the show here in these halls. It wasn't that hard to make the trip this time. I was able to hitch a ride with some people that were headed this way to trade some stones. How have you been? I see you fixed the stage up from the last contest I attended here."
Scorpio happily picked up Grace and tossed her up and down, taking care not to lose or damage her stone.
"I'm glad that things were easier this time around. We have been trying hard to make things easier for those who want to travel here, especially for those who are wanting to trade for what we do have to offer," Eira said with a bright smile, happy to see that her plans were coming together for her kingdom. This was the first time their attempt for roads were to be tested, so it was good to see that they were enough to bring people safely. "I have been well, though a tad busy with preparations for settling more of the forest."
Grace giggled as Scorpio threw her before she began to glow brightly with her evolution.
Z noticed the glow and turned, "I think your little one is evolving." Scorpio also noticed the glow and made sure to place Grace securely on the ground before she could get too big for him to catch safely. *congratulations little one* Z smiled, "I'm glad that your little one has finally grown up enough to evolve to her next level. I wonder if she will be strong enough to face down opponents that come your way in the future?" Z watched as little grace began to grow and change shape as she evolved.
Eira felt a sharp pain in her chest as she watched Grace start to evolve right before her eyes. She couldn't figure out if it was pride or fear that created that pain in her chest at the sight that most trainers rejoiced over. Her baby was no longer her baby and was now a full fledged tank as most people called Chansey. A tear came to her eye as Grace finished evolving and gave her a strange look like she had no idea what had just happened.
*Big brother, Mama is crying,* Grace said, looking to Scorpio when Eira turned to look away from her. *Is Mama mad?*
*She's just realizing that her little hatchling isn't so little anymore,* said Scorpio. "Eira," said Z, "your pokemon hasn't changed personality wise. In fact, from what I can translate from scorpio, she really needs to know her mother is alright right now. She's still your little happiny and she wants to make sure her mother is alright." Scorpio tried to console the newly evolved pokemon as she was distressed over her mothers tears.
