"It'll be good practice for both of us," Eira agreed with a smile to her young friend. "Have things been going well here?"
*Meta tends to transform into males,* Walrein explained as Meta slipped from his back and transformed into a Fraxure. It paused to look at itself for a moment before it transformed again, only into a Bagon this time.
Grace looked up at Scorpio with side eyes for a moment before she ran toward him to give him a hug, tripping along the way so she started rolling towards him instead.
Z nodded, "I've been doing well here at my little gym. The summers are hot though. How are things with you?". Scorpio caught her with a claw and put her on his back to ride. "drapion." *careful little one.*. "fraxure," said fraxure. *i still think it's kind of weird.* sparky hugged Z's arm.
"Things have been fine back home. I was grateful they let me leave so I could come see you though," Eira said, smiling at her young friend even though she was a bit uncomfortable with the way Sparky was hanging onto Z.
*Thanks yew!* Grace cheered at Scorpio, giggling cheerfully as she cooed at the much larger Pokemon.
*Of course it is. I must protect my Eira all of the time from Meta's tricks,* Walrein said, shooting a glare towards the rapidly transforming Pokemon as it chuckled.
"Fraxure" said Fraxure. *Of course, though Sparky would kick my but if I tried to do the same.* "It's good to see you either way," said Z, "It's been a bit different now that I'm a gym leader. I even had to take a special test from the Pokemon League to ensure that I was the right material to be a Gym Leader." Scorpio continued to play with Grace, lifting the little pokemon up and down with his tail. He was a softie on the inside despite his scary appearecne.
*She does seem a bit temperamental like that,* Walrein commented, glancing over at the tall Fire type. *How Pokemon and humans could have feelings like that towards each other it beyond me.*
"I had no idea that Celosia had its own Pokemon League," Eira said in slight awe at the idea of being an official Pokemon League representative. "I remember watching the Pokemon League tournament in Hoenn when I was younger."
Grace giggled as she was lifted up and down by the much larger Pokemon, glad to have made a new friend in this strange place.
"Where there's gyms, there has to be a league," said Z, "they keep the gym leaders following the rules. Isn't there something similar for the contest halls?"
"Frax Frax Fraxure," said Fraxure, *I'm as confused as you are. It's really weird.*
Scorpio continued to play with grace, having fun with the baby pokemon and trying to make her laugh. Scorpio tossed Grace up and down, making sure not to hurt her and not to drop her white stone.
"Not that I'm aware of. At least, not in this region," Eira answered, thinking about her contest hall in particular. "So far there are only two contest halls and they are both run by queens, so who is there to tell us rules?"
*Have you taken a fancy to anyone?* Walrein asked, eyeing the young Dragon type curiously.
Shimmer hopped over to Scorpio and Grace, watching the two play for a little bit. Grace's giggles were strangely loud for such a small creature and it couldn't understand how being tossed into the air could cause such a response.
"That's kind of weird," said Z, "I would have thought there would be one in this region."
Fraxure shook his head, "Frax Frax Frax, Fraxure." *Nah, I haven't seen a lot of female dragon types yet so I never got a chance yet.*
Scorpio turned to shimmed and offered a claw to the star pokemon while he continued to use his tail to entertain Grace. "Drapion." *hello, how are you doing? My name is Scorpio.* Scorpio rocked Grace with his tail.
"Not with so few contest halls in existence. Maybe when there are more halls in the region there will be a league or something," Eira shrugged, not at all concerned with something like an organization for the contest halls. She glanced towards her Pokemon to see how they were getting along and couldn't help but to smile at her baby Pokemon. "It looks like your Drapion has taken a liking to my little Grace."
*Dragons don't seem to be liked very much in this land,* Walrein commented with a shake of his mane. *At least, they are disliked by many of the humans here.*
Shimmer just continued to stare at Scorpio as Grace yawned and began to fall asleep from being rocked.
Z glanced at Scorpio, "Scorpio is a bit of a softie. He looks big and scary, but he's really a nice person and likes to befriend other pokemon. especially cute baby pokemon like your Happiny." Scorpio rocked Grace till she fell asleep then laid her down to the side. Z chuckled, "he really seems to like her."
Fraxure looked at him, "Frax Fraxure? Fraxure. Fra Fraxure." *is that so? I wonder why. Dragons are really awesome.*
"Grace likes befriending other Pokemon as well," Eira chuckled, watching as Scorpio gently put her baby Pokemon down so she could sleep. "She doesn't shy away from anything. I think she would try to befriend even the scariest of Pokemon if given the chance."
*I remember something about a war with Dragons where my Eira and I come from,* Walrein told him, feeling his age now that he thought back to when he and Eira had been young. *That might be why the humans don't like Dragon types so much anymore.*
Fraxure looked at Walren curiously, "Fraxure Frax Fraxure Xure." *I've never heard of any war with dragons and humans. that sounds curious and brutal at the same time.*
Z chuckled, "Usually the pokemon Scorpio tries to befriend are scared of his giant monster scorpion look and run away. I'm glad he could befriend your little Hapiny. They seem quite happy, though your staryu seems a bit confused at their interactions." Z glanced a shimmer, "where did you find a staryu with such odd coloring?"
*My Eira and I left for this land before in reached our home, but I heard that it was a horrible fight,* Walrein growled, shaking his mane out once more before eyeing Fraxure. *You are probably too young to remember it, if you had been born at all.*
"Shimmer was the master of the lake near Silvertree and wouldn't let anyone get close to the lake that would potentially take his position," Eira explained, looking over at her particularly peculiar Pokemon as it continued to watch Scorpio. "I had to catch it before it caused too much of an issue for everyone in the village."
"Frax, Fraxure. Frax Frax Fraxure." said Fraxure as he shook his head, *I don't think I was born yet. in human years I'm only a few months younger than Z. I probably wasn't even an egg yet.*
"That sounds like an interesting story," said Z, "just how powerful is shimmer? I know that he a very rare pokemon and I wonder if he's more powerful than the average Staryu is. I'd bet some of my pokemon would like to battle him to find out how strong he is."
*We came here just over ten years ago, so the fighting started sometime before that,* Walrein told the much younger Pokemon sadly. *It was just reaching our home when we began our journey to this land.*
"I'm not too sure how powerful Shimmer is, though it did give us a hard time when we tried to approach it," Eira replied with a small sigh as she watched the Staryu observe the other Pokemon. "Staryu are incredibly common in the lake near Silvertree, but Shimmer's particular coloring is unique to only it. I'm sure Shimmer would love a battle since it has been a while."
