Nicole was not surprised by the fact that she had been ignored by the Pokemon she had spoken to when the new Pokemon approached. Sighing she turned her attention to their trainer. "We were actually heading for the ring toss ourselves." Nicole answered the man's (Z was it?) question.
"Vul, Vulplix. Vuullllllpix!" *I'm Nero, Nice to meet you. It's cool that you're fully evolved!* Nero chimed into the conversation Bo had started while snuggling closer to Bo for warmth. "Vulpix, Vul? Vuuuuuulpix!" *How are you not cold? You're fire-type too but you're not shivering!*
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
"The ring toss was hard," said Z, "I never hit a single target, though Fraxure here was able to nail one on his first try. Maybe you'll do better?" Sparky looked at nero, "Blaziken Blaziken. blaze Blaze Blaziken." *I use my flames on my wrists and ankles to keep me warm. I also have my trainer for warmth.* Sparky snuggled into Z's arm with a smile on her beaked face causing Z to chuckle at the attention and affection his pokemon had for him.

"Not at all, not at all. Lady Akane was just asking me about the egg that I have here,"
"Ah, well...that's a relief. I don't care much for politics...too much discussion, but not enough results. Lovely festival, by the way, Lady Eira...plenty to do...if you're interested in the fairground sideshow sort of thing."
Zandrophin couldn't hep but express his disappointment as he continued,
"This is a party. Where's the music? Where's the dancing? It's a lovely night...why waste its beauty? I missed my chance to dance at the ball in Ignacia...something came up. I was hoping to get a second chance here...or was a dance not in the itinerary?"

"The band should strike up any moment now. The night has just begun afterall and I was hoping to see everyone before getting things started officially," Eira told him, glancing towards where the band was supposed to be. She had been promised music by some of the villagers, so why wasn't there a band set up near her home like was discussed. His comment about fairground sideshows processed itself then and she nearly frowned at him, believing that he was trying to insult her small home. Instead she plastered on her best smile and motioned towards everything set up. "I'm sure things will pick up soon."
"I've never played a ring toss game before. So I don't know..." Maya fidgeted, scrapping a hole in the snow with the toe of her shoe and looking down. "S-so lets go try it Nicole?" She moved towards the stand.
"Flaaaaafa. Flaaaaaffy. Flafaaaaaaf..." Bo bleated, in dim confusion. *Your trainer doesn't look very warm. He does't have any flames...* Bo seemed pretty happy that Nero enjoyed the wool on her head. If it could keep her trainer warm it could keep him warm. Her head felt very warm though.
"Yeah, let's do that." Nicole agreed moving to follow after Maya. She stopped however to look back at Bo and Nero. "When you two finish talking to your new friends, you come find us okay? We're going to be just over there." With that said she moved to once again head to the stand.
Nero nodded at what Nicole said, though she didn't see it, before turning his attention back to the conversation. "Vulpix Vul Vul Vulpix. Vulpix Vul Vuuuuuulpix. Vulpix Vul Vuuuulpix." *My trainer usually holds me when we're in the cold. She doesn't feel it but I do. I have never really liked the cold.*
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
Bo waved as Maya left. "Flaaaaaffa! Flaaaaaffyyy!" She bleated. *My trainer always clings to me for warmth instead...*
"Ah... er okay," Maya said looking back at the two Pokemon. "Sure." She walked towards the stand.
It was fairly simple, with multicolored rings and what appeared to be soda bottles completely iced over. Maya had never played a game like this before. Snowpoint City didn't have festivals like this. But... it looked fun. Plus there were some cool prizes up on the walls...
"So we just... throw the rings?" She questioned, holding up a ring.

"I'm sure things will pick up soon."
Zandrophin nodded acceptingly...there was little he could do, after all. Still...he wanted a chance to burn his host. He glanced sideways at Akane:
'It looks like the little snowflake Princesshas a few logistical errors in her party planning process. Promising music and dancing, but the band won't show up until later? Small village or no, if she handles affairs like this with this level of clumsiness....I'm worried about how she'll handle foreign affairs. I had considered setting up a small fur trade operation here...that may not be wise. After seeing how she fails to coordinate a bunch of yokels, sending some of my people up here would not end well.'

Akane laughed, ”I’m going to guess happiny or miltank. Thoughts Doom?” He sniffed Eira and agreed. ”Perhaps we can share breeding secrets.” Royal bonding? Maybe.
Eira seemed unsure about the people running her party; even the band wasn’t present.
"I'm sure things will pick up soon."
Akane tried her best to slap on a smile but her brow furrowed. If anyone dared lie to me it would be their last. Her expression looked more as if she had wet herself rather than being pleasantly happy. Zandrophin even made a political jab at her that made her almost break into laughter; not even the countless years she had of experience could fully cover her true emotions here.
”Uhh excuse me… pffft Lady Eira. I uhh.. heh umm… need some punch.” She collected herself at the end of her sentence, but had to leave for fear of laughing in Eira’s face and showing disrespect.
There was an unfamiliar face talking to Maya. Who is… that? I sense a powerful aura. Doom left her side to growl and bark at the woman’s vulpix. Akane’s face was flabbergasted as she stood stunned before walking after him.
”DOOM! How dare you defy me? What do you think you are doing sir?!” Her voice thundered through the crowds. She was sure it was dead silent while she scolded Mr. Doom. Her intimidating aura coupled with her huge presence and royal voice could stop a riot. She looked up and locked eyes with the new person when Doom had quieted down. It would not be anytime soon after his punishment would he disobey her again.
”I am sorry. I hope your lovely vulpix is fine. Evening Maya.” Akane straightened and bowed to them. She shot Doom a vicious look, and he bowed low enough his nose could touch the dirt.
”I am Lady Akane of Celosia. And this troublemaker is Doom. Pleased to make your aquaintence.”
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
"Ah, there they are and only a few minutes late," Eira sighed in relief when she noticed the band quickly approaching from across the square. She smiled slightly at Zandrophin, holding her egg closer to her in protection since she still felt uneasy around Mentus especially without Sealeo at her side. "The music should start soon if you'd like to dance, though I don't see too many people eager to dance right now."
Oh great...he's decided to show up. Joy. Welp...awkward talk it is. Marcus walked over to the group right as Akane left. Marcus followed her with his eyes; and then Doom barked and Akane shortly after him in scolding. Would not wanna be him right now.
"Evening, Eira. You look very nice. And this is a nice festival you've got going. People look pretty happy. Sofa! Don't just run into people's conversations like that. It's rude." Marcus pulled Sofa close to him with a scolding face. Sofa looked at Sealeo with a pout, wanting to talk to his friend.
"Oh, it's alright. I'm glad Sealeo could see some of his friends tonight since this party isn't just about us humans, but our Pokemon as well," Eira said with a small bow to Marcus and a genuine smile at his complement. She was happy to see that everyone's hard work had paid off tonight and that the guests to the village were having fun. The music began to play then, filling the air with a beautiful melody that only added to the festive atmosphere. "To tell you the truth, I believe several of the vendors are even giving out free treats to any of the Pokemon that are here."

Zandrophin listened as the music began to swell. He sighed contentedly as the music flowed through his body. Whenever he wasn't meditating...music always brought him to a calm state of mind.
Music calms the savage beast, as they say, Sir.
I am far from savage...but it does bring me peace.
The song that began first was a rather slow waltz. Zandrophin loved waltzes...the dancers would flow like water as they spun across the floor. He regretted not having anyone to dance with, so he decided to turn it into a joke.
"Hey, Marcus...wanna dance?"

Nicole nodded and Maya's question. "Yeah. Your goal is to try and get these rings around the bottles there. Here let me show you." She said picking up one her rings. She carefully aimed and threw the ring missing the bottle she was aiming for by a moderate margin. "And hopefully, you will do a much better job than me." She said with a small laugh. However the laugh was cut off by the sound of barking. Trying to locate where the sound was coming from, her eyes were met with the sight of a Houndoom racing over to where Nero and Bo were. "What the heck?!" She shouted.
”DOOM! How dare you defy me? What do you think you are doing sir?!”
She heard faintly, not truly paying attention as she concentrated on putting herself between the barking Houndoom and Nero and Bo. The Houndoom stopped barking when another person entered the area.
”I am sorry. I hope your lovely vulpix is fine. Evening Maya.”
Nicole looked up at the one who had spoken and nodded. "Yeah. He's fine." She said sharply before what the figure, a woman, said next made her freeze.
”I am Lady Akane of Celosia. And this troublemaker is Doom. Pleased to make your aquaintence.”
Oh... Shoot... She had just snapped at the queen. Think fast Nicole!
"Nicole. I am from Mauville City in Hoenn."
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
"...................................What?" Marcus stood there with a completely shocked look on his face. It took him a few moments to gather his composure again. "Uh...yeah, no. I'm not that much of a dancer. I've only danced one time in the last 8 years. I'm sure Maya would love a dance, though."
After hearing what Eira had said, Sofa wanted to go to the stalls and get food and talk with Sealeo a while, but he remained by Marcus' side after zandrophin addressed him, making sure he was there if needed, flashing a mean look at Mentus. You hurt my friend. I am angry at you.
