POKEMON

The site is up to date with pokemon. Any and all pokemon from Kanto to Kalos that fit within the limitations is acceptable. The limitations and bans are very important to keep the site balanced. Please read them before picking your pokemon. (insert link here)

Pokemon Growth

Pokemon on this site level up when you do. The level bar on your profile (hover over it) indicates your character’s level. Upon reaching a new level for your character, your pokemon’s levels all go up by 5. In order to level up, post more! The more you post, the stronger your pokemon get.

When battling, just multiply the trainer’s level by 5 to know how strong they’re pokemon are.

For pokemon who evolve by trading or happiness, it's pointless to trade and then trade back and there is no happiness meter so treat these pokemon as normal pokemon who can evolve into their traded forms at/above level 35.
*eevees are special and umbreon evolves with a dusk stone, espeon a sun stone, glaceon with an ice rock and leafeon with a leaf stone

For Applications

Trainers and Contest Trainers are only allowed to start with one non-shiny pokemon that will start out with at level 5. Please check the pokemon limitations section in the site rules to see if any of the pokemon you want to have in your party are banned. Also no legendaries are allowed due to their god-like strength and the fact that they are rare and used for plotlines and rewards; making them off-limits without special permission.
*If you are interested in owning a non-perma banned legendary, message Akane about possibly owning said pokemon. Legendaries require plots and stories to own.

However, there is the option to choose one of the three options below as a “site gift”. The site gift for each character is one of three options. These aren’t required to be taken, and they can be saved for later. On your applications there will be a place to select one.

-The first, you can have an extra level 1 pokemon in your party. This means you can have one level 5 and one level 1 pokemon. The species limitations still apply to this second pokemon. And instead of leveling up to 10, it will only level up to 5 before it levels up normally.

-The second, you can make one of your pokemon shiny. You don’t have to apply it right away to your starter, but when you finally get a pokemon you want to apply shiny-ness to, (say you win a normal legendary from a contest and you saved this gift) you can now apply it to your new legendary.

-The third gift is the ability to choose one of the baby pokemon as your starter (check pokemon restrictions to see the list of baby pokemon). The baby pokemon starts off at level 1, and levels up to five when you level up before leveling normally.

How to Accumulate More Pokemon

Any member can apply for a new pokemon when they hit Beginning Rookie rank title. Every time after Beginning Rookie, when you hit the next Beginning level (ie. Beginning Junior is when you can apply for your next pokemon) and by the time you reach Beginning Champion or Recent Master, you are able to have a full team and probably more. To continue to get more pokemon, win them through contests or by being involved with plot lines. Contests are fun, and if you want to make a request for the next contest's prize pokemon, you can pm an admin for a chance. You can also buy the More Pokemon! item.

There is also the ability to trade pokemon with other members. Fill out an app and get it approved before using your new pokemon in roleplay. (To avoid confusion) And even thought the person you're trading with has a higher or lower level than you, the pokemon's level resets with yours. You can also gift and be gifted pokemon.

If there’s a pokemon you really want that’s a legendary or banned pokemon don’t fret. You can get those rare ones from contests, plot-lines, or check back to the banned pokemon list regularly to see if a ban on a certain pokemon has been lifted.
