Major Contest

It wasn't often that Maleko's tribe was able to say that everyone had a birthday in the same place.  It was even rarer that the tribe let anyone else in on their birthday celebrations.  This time was different though.  Maleko had intended to just invite Eira to his village for a gym match, only to find out that the day she was arriving, was also her birthday.  This also happened to coincide with the monthly birthday celebration day.  This left the boy with an idea.  His tribe wasn't all that well known, and his gym was overlooked easily by the larger one in the developing city of Starfort that shared the Eastern Plains with them.  Maybe he could gain some relations, as well as get to know the person whom he had been in many contests with before.  When the woman arrived, he was definitely nervous.  He had sponsored Akane when she had been to his village for their gym match, but he wasn't sure how the other queen would feel about his home.  Pushing the fear back, he began showing the woman around and introducing her to the inhabitants.  He had regretted telling her that she might have to wait until tomorrow for their gym match, but he told her, that he had something planned to make up for it.  While he distracted her, the rest of the village set up a bonfire pit and the band area, while those who were going to be celebrating were happily running around, though most of them were more excited about sharing the day with someone so important to their continent.  As the sun went down, Maleko lead the woman back to the main area and celebration began.  The bonfire was lit and the band started up.  It was the elder, however that had everyone's attention.  "My fellow villagers, I wish all of you who have come to celebrate, a happy birthday, and to congratulate the families on their children's growth.  I am also here to wish our very special guest a happy birthday as well.  Congratulations Queen Eira of Eirlys on your birthday!  May you be blessed!"  He called and everyone in the crowd began to clap before dispersing into dancing.  Maleko looked over to the queen then and gave her a smile.  "H-Happy B-Birthday.  I hope y-you enjoyed t-the surprise."
