The gentle jolts of Pyrois’s trot were enough to keep the red-haired woman from dosing off. The hearing for some criminal from the Pyron underground took all day long it seemed, when it should have only taken a few hours. She wasn’t tired, but she surely needed a break. She had been told about a newly opened tavern many moons before it was built by its proud owner, and more recently still she had been told of its taste. There weren’t any taverns in Asemon for all she knew, but alcohol was still attainable via mainland shipments. Akane’s entire operation on that was still strong, but she wishes so much more to have an affordable and reliable distillery nearby for all.
Pyrois the rapidash stopped before the tavern and pawed at the ground with his hoof, snorting at passing civilians who could do nothing but stop at stare at the pair. A beautiful woman with brilliant red hair illuminated mostly by the mane of a pokemon long considered a beauty. Akane’s eyes quickly surveyed the Burning Wood Tavern. Not finding much other than a wooden building with large windows and a small crowd this evening, she dismounted and summoned her pokemon back. It was almost dark, and she wore a cloak that covered everything but her face and ankles below. Upon entering, she was greeted as a normal citizen. Upon removing her hood, many people in the pub reacted in a whole new light.
She desperately hoped none of them would bother her right now, and to emphasize this, she quickly moved to the bar. The bar tender of course recognized her immediately and offered all her drinks on the house. ”I appreciate the offer. Please give me your most popular drink.” She said before delicately sipping from the small glass. ”But this is a new business, I cannot simply just take from it with no return.” She quickly finished her glass and traded it for a full one, she began sipping at. A nearby elderly man offered her a seat, but once again she refused saying, ”I am going to be here for a while, please sit. I do not need it.”
It was true, with her legs she truly did not need to sit. The muscles alone were built not by sitting behind a desk all day, but by adventuring, working, training. Eventually though, the man persisted and Akane felt it was rude not to. ”You needn’t be so kind good sir. For I am only in a position of power, and in no way does that make me more valuable than yourself.” Again, she finished her drink, the bite was much less powerful.
It must’ve looked silly. A new bar, made almost entirely with wood, hosting a woman praised and regarded by many. The woman with auburn swirling waterfalls of hair, a gentle jawline, lavender hued eyes, and skin tanned by the long hours in the bright sun, was slumped over the table before long with boredom from people with boring stories of old tales or the fact people were too frightened to talk to her. It didn’t bother her so much, she did just come here to drink, but it was a shame no one interesting ever bothered her at times like this.
