Melota haphazardly entered the ballroom, trying to grow used to the tiny heels that she had decided to wear to this large shindig. She had had no idea about what to wear and had honestly just purchased the first fancy dress she had come across without even trying it on and now she was regretting it. The large skirt was way to heavy and hard to move in and it was just not comfortable with the make up weighing down her face and her hair pinned way too tightly on her head.
She took in a deep breath to steady herself and to remind herself that she was doing this in order to try to get more clients for her ranch. With that in mind, she threw herself into the crowd with a determined look, trying to find someone to start talking to.
It felt like forever… All these people, Celosian and not, hand after hand, the Red Queen was beginning to get very bored all by herself. Especially with the man who still hadn’t left her side yet, and who also seemingly didn’t notice she wasn’t listening anymore. At one point she did remember her eyes flicking to a familiar face she picked out near instantly. She allowed herself to even be read by Mentus by thinking very clearly, ‘Good evening Zandrophin. Always nice to see you.’ while temporarily ignoring the person in front of her, and only getting away with it because of the polite yet fake smile she always wore greeting her people.
She returned to listening to the people lined up to meet her, waiting patiently for Nicole, not noticing her date was an actual person. She would have laughed to herself if it would not have seemed rude after Nicole yelled back for her to wait. “Surprising the Duchess found someone, being so young.” The women she was greeting angrily grumbled, obviously confused as to why a nobody would have risen to such a high position. Akane only smiled sweetly and responded with a voice like fine silk.
“Age has nothing to do with maturity. With her ability, it’s a wonder she doesn’t have more.” The two women had their forced laughs, and the other moved on obviously upset about not being to size-up Lady Eira.
It was no surprise for Zandrophin to show up. Akane was most pleased someone interesting finally joined her. ”Evening Zandrophin.” She curtsied, outstretching her magnificent, yet simple gown. ”Yes I am pleased. I hope to bring many festivals from our home to this land, but possibly with more of our own flare.” She thought his words had an eerie underlying tone to them, but she wasn’t about to question with so many witnesses. She gestured and announced to those waiting in line that she was done greeting for the time being. Slowly they scattered with only the few truly desperate to greet her still waiting.
”I trust you are well? It’s been some time since I’ve had a mission for you. After the lugia fiasco, I imagined you needed a break… speaking of which…” She never let the eternal burning gem out of her sight. ”How is Zapdos? I trust he is doing well in your care?” Her hand cradled around the gem in the hidden pocket within the folds of her dress. The burning sensation didn’t really bother her anymore, she was used to it.

Zandrophin couldn't help but feel slightly sorry for Akane...the people around her were not the best company...and some still stuck around after she sent them away.
People who gossip where they shouldn't need to learn to control their opinions...it could come back to bite them.
Zandrophin bowed again when he'd finally reached Akane. He grinned slightly at the mention of the last errand he'd been a part of.
"A break? Well, that would've been nice...but I don't have much time for such things. In my absence, business has done nothing but get better....which makes me even more busy than I was before."
"As for Toirneach...he's doing just fine. He's been stirring up some storms around the mountains...he's enjoying himself."
Zandrophin paused for a bit before continuing.
"So, is there anything that needs to be done?"
Do not fight for a cause or for what you believe in: Fight for yourself, because who you are rarely changes. Zandrophin
She had said yes…. She had actually said yes…! He couldn’t believe his luck! Quickly he shared a look of astonishment with Shard before he realized she had said more after that. Something about the two of them needing to head over to where the Celosian queen was and a question of why she had to go over there. “Um… I think it was s-something about g-greeting people?” He too wasn’t exactly sure why the girl had to go over to the Celosian queen either. Hopefully he was right and he wasn’t going to make the other embarrassed. That would suck…. A lot…. “Well… should w-we head over t-there now? I m-mean… I think you’ve b-been talking to m-me for a while.” Then it hit him…. “W-wait…. Earlier d-did the Celosian queen call you D-Duchess?!” This was said loudly and somewhat high pitched. Because if he had heard that right, he had been talking to someone who had power… and had totally made a fool of himself. Heck, he had even almost inadvertently insulted her on accident with his words. Way to go Maleko, you screwed up big time!
’She didn’t expect me to come?’ He was unsure why, but he felt like he had been slammed in the gut at this. ’I guess a classy lady like her needs a letter to reassure her. She deserves no less anyway.’ he grimaced. ’Nothing I do is ever good enough… why couldn’t I have just done away with her like the others?’ he was cut off from his spiraling depression, by her comment on his physical well being.
”Yeah… we uhh kind of had to skip a few meals so we could come back. Not only that, but no matter how much food I shoved towards him, Kaname refused to eat. But we had to go to the Frozen Borders to go see about some mansion that had apparently run down, and then I ran into some… trouble. Long story short ran out of food for a few days, found a tribe, and found work.” he was pretty embarrassed, scratching the back of his head and laughing awkwardly. He didn’t seem to realize just how deep Mariko’s care actually ran.
Kaname at this, was proud of himself for keeping up with Tsubame. But he seemed taken aback when she commented on his feather having lost its shimmer. He began to look around for something shiny to examine it. Usually he hated the female human specimen and refused to let them get near him, but Tsubame must’ve rubbed off because he allowed her to get so close to him, and even gently take his feather and examine its reflection.

Tanya gave a soft annoyed grumble as she tried to remember why she was here in the first place. Was it the prize? Yeah, that had to be it. But then again, the fine print said that it went to the best couple at this shindig. Man, why the heck did there even have to be a holiday for couples? Grumbling some more, she looked over at Esperanza who was holding onto her arm, and sighed. The bug Pokemon had somehow managed to wrinkle up the little ribbon she had put on her, that matched the dress Tanya had decided to buy and wear to this ball. “Ranza, look what you’ve done. That doesn’t look attractive at all.” She commented to the Pokemon, who merely gave her a version of a shrug.
Tanya’s eyes narrowed at that and she brought the arm Esperanza was on up so she could use her free hand to try and fix the problem. “If I have to look nice, you are going to suffer as well, dang it all! Don’t you dare think, just because you are my friend, I will not shove your sorry self back into your Pokeball if you don’t behave!” She snapped, the fingers on her free hand moving on the ribbon trying to un-wrinkle the thin fabric, all the while Esperanza gave off a whine of annoyance and protest at her trainer’s actions. She didn’t want to look nice Dang it! She didn’t want to deal with fashion like most of her species did. She wanted to rebel against her nature, and wrinkling the ribbon was part of it all!
Mariko listened to the explanation she was given by Tsubame with a straight face. She was a little shocked that the man would go so far as to skip meals just so he could come back to see her and to attend the ball. She was also a little surprised at how, after her comment, Kaname seemed to start looking for something. But that didn’t mean that she was about to let how sickly the two looked go. “I really wish that you wouldn’t push yourself as much as you do… I understand your situation, remember? Do you think, that you coming here, looking as you do, makes me happy? It makes me feel guilty if anything.” She stated, crossing her arms gently over her chest, as she gave Tsubame his own concerned look.
By now, Finn had re-approached Mariko’s side, and was hovering there cautiously, just a little behind her shoulder. He was watching the two that had approached his trainer. Sure, they didn’t seem to be trying to hurt her, and they did look slightly familiar, but that didn’t mean that they weren’t dangerous. He didn’t want to take chances with his trainer’s safety. He didn’t…- “Finn, it’s alright. These two are not a danger to us.” Mariko’s voice cut in through his thoughts and he turned his attention to her giving her a sheepish look, in response to the look of chiding that was on her face.
Nicole had no idea why her having a title would matter to the boy. And she also was starting to feel the need to not head over to Akane, if he was telling the truth about her having to greet people. She was not social by nature, so why would the red queen think it would be a good idea for her to talk to people in the first place? “It shouldn’t matter whether or not I have a title… It’s just something tacked onto my name as far as I’m concerned.” She said casually, feeling the need to stall becoming great, but at the same time, fighting it off knowing that making Akane wait would only make the woman upset. “Come on… We should head over to where Akane is waiting. I can’t stall this for too long or things will not be too pleasant.” She said taking the boy’s hand in hers. It was the right thing to do right? I mean he was her date now right? After she took a small inhale and gave a small exhale, she gently started to lead the other over to where the Red Queen was standing, as well as the familiar figure of Zandrophin, who also now was visible to her. She hoped then, that she and her date wouldn’t be dragged into an awkward conversation with both of them.

Prasha approached Lady Akane from behind and whispered. "All Clear, my lady." Prasha had been scanning every guest even the familiar faces he knew by heart. All of his Pokemon agreed to be in their assigned pokeballs execpt for Zeal who had been prowling the royal grounds for any sign of intruders. Prasha did not look like all the others he adorned black combat fatigues with a utility belt housing his pokeballs and a pair of new black leather sheaths to house his kukuris and one for his Katana. His face was shielded by a black mask made of iron to conceal his identity. Prasha kept his eyes at all times toward the ball room floor.
Prasha then asked Lady Akane. "Permission to get up on the balcony my Lady?" Prasha had to his back a strapped compound composite bow with sliver arrows to pierce through armor.

The Chief of the Bureau of Pokemon and Land Management Rangers in Asemon stood at the Food Arrangement table, he quickly thought about what to eat, but decided against it and picked up a cup and poured some Punch into it. This was a Fancy party and it was a shame that the Ranger wasn't quite dressed for it even though back at Camp he had a proper Dress uniform. He felt uneasy as he stood out of place in his Green Cargo Pants, tan boots, black top and red half-jacket with BPLM Ranger Patches on them.
"Hmmm, maybe I should of dressed a little more appropriately for this situation." he thought to himself watching all the other guys at the party, watching all the fancy probably stuck up suits go around and flirt with the ladies "Ugh, I can't believe that they convinced me to come here, what do I do now... they all look as if they know each other."
Suddenly one of the party goers caught the Chief Rangers Eye, a man in a black uniform... a Military Uniform to be exact 'Well... he's certainly not dressed for this fancy party either.' he mumbled under his breathe, trying not to get anyone'sattention.

Maya was quite tempted to immediately spin right back around and out the door when she stepped into the ballroom. This was a very very bad idea. It was loud and right off the bat there were people she recognized, most of which she hadn't seen since before Yūrei no Machi. And a lot had changed since then. Everyone wore flashy and elegant clothes while Maya stood in an extremely modest purple and white dress which was almost a robe. (Outside part is dark purple and the inside is white)
The simple bag at her side felt heavy and weighted down and not just because what was inside was slightly heavy but instead it weighted down with immense power that she could feel emanating from it. It was terrifying and it was probably incredibly stupid to bring it here of all places. Actually, she got that letter about this ball and almost immediately threw it out. But if this... Queen of Power or whatever she called herself could help her? She only met the red haired woman once what felt like ages ago.
She rubbed at her long sleeves, feeling the comfort of the paper seals freshly stuck to arms but it did little to assure her. It was hard to deal with real people sometimes. Particularly ones like this. She stepped into the crowd, not entirely sure how to go about approaching the queen here. Wallace floated stiffly at her side, currently in his defense form.
As if her words metamorphosed into tangible arrows, she fired them straight through his chest cavity. His limbs had drained in an aching, throbbing weight in his chest, leaving the rest of him hollow and numb. His lips were closed, but he pressed them even tighter together to seal any further comments back. He stood there for a moment with no comforts, he wished desperately for a facepalm, a snigger, anything from Kaname to wrangle him back into his comfort zone. But he was only met with Mariko’s disappointed glare. Alright. She had won. She convinced him what he did was wrong. ’Why must she keep staring like that? I’m not a child; I learn and learn quickly from my mistakes.’
The green mass of some sort of pokemon moved in to protect its trainer, a reflex from all the negativity Tsubame must’ve been putting off. Even if his outsides looked like stone, like her words were merely a nick to such an enduring piece of art, his aura surely would have been a thunderstorm, with each bang of his heart against his chest being a bolt of lightning.
Mariko brushed off the pokemon, calmly stating the blue haired man would never hurt her or her pokemon. Tsubame’s insides warmed a little at the comment. Though it was not entirely true, he could do many stupid things without knowing it and endanger many people. A shadowy, blonde figure stuck out in his mind, cracking an evil smile and stretching out a bony, clawed hand for him. He walked towards the side of Mariko that didn’t have the pokemon hovering around it, his face lowered and dark as his deep-ocean blue hair covered his eyes. His heart was pounding, his palms were sweating, he was in so much pain, he thought his heart might actually give out; especially now that he found his arms had wrapped around the cerulean crystal eyed woman he had sought the comfort of this evening.
He soon realized his limbs had begun to warm up, maybe even ignite he was so warm. She smelled wonderful, calming, gentle, everything he needed right now. His palms and his fingertips gingerly held her back to keep her close, at least as long as she would let him. He gently rested his jaw against her hair and closed his eyes. ’If she’ll let me, I’ll start our first dance with her like this.’ The thought drifted into his mind slowly, like a feather falling into a pond. Once the thought it through, he realized she may be uncomfortable with his body (pelvis included ) being so close to her. His brain began yelling for him to release her when he realized just how close she was, but his body was too comfortable to let go. Before she could push him away, he gave her a small squeeze around her waist.

Nicole had finally started to head over, though it was slow. Akane asked her to continue doing the greetings while she attended to… business. ”Thank you for coming. I appreciate it greatly. If you wouldn’t mind taking over for me? Don’t feel the need to stay long however, my dear.” She smiled and curtseyed to her… friend? Walking away with Zandrophin, she thought loudly,
’I see the look of pity in your eyes, Zandrophin. But this is how I find out information and hear rumors throughout my kingdom. Unlike you I have no psychic type pokemon to subtly read them for me.’ She didn’t raise her guard again. She had more to say.
”In your absence, hm? Perhaps you should take on more missions for me then.” She laughed while politely covering her mouth with one hand and with the other slid him a contract.
’I have need of your services. It’s a small job. I desire a psychic type. So that I may also have these subtle conversations. Sneaky isn’t my style, but it might aid me in my newest little… side project. The political barriers resumed quickly, only letting a ghostly image of the battle room in her castle’s map with points pinned. No usual pattern in the pins could be noticed; there were purple pins in almost every area of the continent with most of them being in the Northern Territory.
”Wonderful! I’m glad he has decided to remain by your side. I was worried he would reject you. I’m glad my worries were for naught. As for missions, I have nothing to important. However, Fenghuang dropped by earlier. She mentioned some things. Nothing too troublesome.” She watched a civilian who walked a little too close by them.
’That’s a lie. Fenghuang mentioned something was gathering in the North. Something large, dangerous. Powerful. She also warned me not to host this event. Mentioned something might happen tonight with so many people gathered here. It might… attract something, something that correlates with these unusual forces.’ She realized though she looked engaged with Zandrophin, she hadn’t actually said anything for a few seconds.
”Zandrophin, please meet my newest addition to the red family. Adamantite.” She released the scizor. Usually they flapped their wings incessantly, but Adamantite remained still. ”She was bought at an auction recently. I’m sorry, this is rather awkward isn’t it? Please, let us visit the ordure’s.”
Greeting, curtseying, and bowing the entire way made the short trip into an unbearable five minutes. She was beginning to fray at the nerves. Adamantite quickly shielded Akane from a man dressed entirely in black with a mask to protect his identity. All clear, my lady. She hadn’t remembered hiring him, but if he wished to be on the lookout, she couldn’t say no with Fenghuang’s forewarning.
”Evening Prasha.” The scizor kept her guard. ”Yes you may. Just stay away from the eastern balcony. That is for royal footsteps only and is already heavily guarded. She handed him one of her lesser golden rings. ”Return this ring when you leave. Show it to any guards who give you trouble. They will let you pass in most areas.” She bowed to him. ”Also, do try to stay out of sight, your weapons are unnerving my people.” When Adamantite finally relaxed her guard (somewhat) Zandrophin and the red haired queen scooted by. When they arrived, at the catering tables, she finally could finish her thought for him.[/color]
’For tonight, I simply need you to keep an eye out for anything… unusual.’ Her lavender eyes scanned the room and landed upon something unsettling. The woman Akane had come to know as really no one too important, had filtered in with everyone else, but Adamantite immediately picked her out and stared her down. She never moved towards the brunette, but she waited like a gargoyle that could actually spring to life and attack.
Akane flicked her eyes back to Zandrophin and curtseyed to him. ”Zandrophin, I believe I have more business to attend to. Do excuse me. And please, consider my offer.” Her eyes darted to where she saw him last hide the paper. She would probably find him later for his answer. Slowly and inauspiciously as possible with such a large pokemon clearing the way for her, she sauntered over to the dark-haired woman.
”Maya, what a wonderful dress you have on tonight.” Her voice was dark, but subtle. ”My pokemon thinks you to be an interesting per-“ Adamantite’s eyes flicked to her bag, which now pointed out, seemed to slightly distort the straps of the rucksack. ”-son. So, how are you tonight? Would you care to accompany me?” There were no psychic types involved; this issue would need to be solved outside of the ballroom. She knew she was being rather short with Maya, but she had many people to attend to.
’This is why I prefer working with Zandrophin. I can be discreet and in public with my dealings. I hope he accepts my contract.’ She sighed. ”So my friend, where have you been hiding all this time? It has been a long time since I last saw you.” She chuckled politely. She had honestly lost all tabs on this woman.

Zandrophin shrugged with a small grin at the comment regarding his ability to discreetly gather information.
'We all work with the tools we're provided, Highness.'
Then the request for his aid was brought forth. Zandrophin raised an eyebrow and took the slip he was offered. He saw the map flash in his mind, trusting that Mentus had memorized it.
'A Psychic type? I can't say I blame you,' he ruffled Mentus' ears, 'they are pretty great.' Something up North is stirring up trouble, old friend...perhaps that's why we felt uneasy?
It is possible, Sir...
Zandrophin came back out of his musing to simply nod at Adamantite.
"A very lovely specimen, Highness. I'm sure it will serve you well."
As they moved through the crowd, Zandrophin and Mentus were taking in all information from the revelers around them. Many had noticed them walking with the queen, including his old business associate. He nodded slightly at Prasha as he passed. He seemed like little more than a mercenary, but whatever he enjoyed doing...Zandrophin hoped he was making the best of it.
Zandrophin bowed slightly as Akane left, scoffing quietly as he remarked,
Look out for anything unusual?...Like we do anything else, old friend?
Very true, Sir...this shouldn't be too difficult.
As the party went on, Zandrophin continued to scan the crowd. He recognized many faces, but there were also some unfamiliar ones, as well.

Prasha spotted an empty balcony and spied on the "Ranger" who he had never seen. Prasha faded into the shadows and drew his compound bow and drew his arrow toward the Head Ranger. Prasha was going to pay attention to this man until the very end of the ball. He holstered his arrow and decided to just watch him a hand on his Kukuri.
The ball was beginning to fill up and guests were gathered around. Prasha spied everyone he knew. Security was present, but not to Prasha's liking. Everyone was feasting on Akane's lavish set up and ingesting drink. Soon he knew we would have drunken people as the special event progressed.
The ranger was annoying Prasha just sitting there ingesting punch. Every time he moved, talked, or looked Prasha would be there watching his every move.
