Zandrophin couldn't help but chuckle and shake his head at what was said.
"Ah...you're familiar with protocol. That's to be expected...your father was always good about his rules."
He continued after a small pause,
"Indeed I am looking for something else other than the alliance...and I really shouldn't hold onto this secret. My long-term goal is to usurp my father from his position and take over my family's enterprise. Once we've got you back on top in your family, you can help me take my place at the head of my family. A merger such as this would be mutually beneficial for all involved; we could reshape the goals of our families however we wanted."
Another pause. He was getting rather excited, but needed to stay professional,
"As for you...my next step is to take the Underground in Pyron City for my own...to set up as a base of operations and as a staging area for my agents. I can offer you that location and access to all of its resources, manpower included. You could station your agents there to keep you appraised of the goings on...or whatever else you may wish to utilize the space for."
"However...I cannot take that place alone. I will need your help to secure that location. I know how to speak to businesspeople and rational thinkers. The people currently in charge of that place are neither of these. I was hoping you'd be able to assist me in...negotiating a change in management."
Another pause.
"So, what do you say, Miss Nicole?...How do you feel about being in charge of one of the most powerful families in existence? Do we have a deal?"
He extended his hand once more.

Nicole thought about the information she was just given, her arms unconsciously bouncing Rhea in them, having forgotten the baby Pokemon was in them in the first place since she had fallen asleep once more. Orion was also currently asleep; his head resting on her side, thus making it to where she couldn’t stand up and pace her thoughts into place. From beside her legs, she could tell, Nero was giving her a concerned look, obviously unsure about what she was going to do, but still willing to go through with it if needed. From their places on the mats and in the air, away from the interactions, though still paying attention; Kai, Pandora, Phaedra, and Zephyr watched closely to see what Nicole would choose.
“You’ve put me in a predicament…” Nicole found herself saying finally. “On one hand, I want my family’s name to burn and die… But on the other, I don’t want to see if fade away either. Mauville City would pretty much crash without my family’s influence keeping it afloat…” Here she paused for a moment. “And what you are proposing is a fair trade from all sides. If I could put some trustworthy people into the underground as informants, then I would be able to figure out what’s going on so far with the operation I already know probably exists here under the Everfield name, like the foolish often will do for a profit. Plus, I agree, you have no idea how to deal with those who have no business sense in their person.” She wondered if what she was doing was a good idea as she moved one of her hands away from Rhea, and took Zandrophin’s extended hand into her own. “One thing I will make certain here, and I promise you I will follow through with it. You stab me in the back; you will come to regret it. I accept your terms. I look forward to working with you.” She finished, externally giving a small smile, while internally she felt the hope of having a normal life wither up and die.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole

Zandrophin smirked slightly at the warning he'd just been given. With a slight chuckle, he replied,
"I have no intention on going back on my word, and I look forward to working with you, as well...but I extend the same warning to you, as well...as a courtesy, of course."
He took a short pause to take stock of his surroundings.
"Now then...we have much to do. If you will gather whatever you need for a quick side trip to Pyron and meet me outside, I will have Mentus teleport us back."
He snapped his fingers and Squirt cleared the exit hallway, allowing Zandrophin to walk past. Over his shoulder, he said,
"I would suggest placing your companions in their pokeballs...The less exertion Mentus has to deal with, the faster we can get back."
Zandrophin waited outside for his new partner to emerge. After a short while, Nicole met him outside. He extended an arm outwards and placed it across her upper back, along the shoulder blades, and held Nicole close to him. He spoke one last time,
"Apologies if this makes you uncomfortable, but this is standard procedure for these trips; take up as little space as possible."
Mentus had the final word,
Please keep your arms and legs inside the bubble at all times...just sit back, relax...and enjoy your flight.
The pair was quickly whisked away towards Pyron City, landing with a small flash of light near the outskirts of the market.
