Z chuckled, "I think I understand. When Haxorus was still an Axew, he was curious as well. He also always wanted to ride on my shoulder all the time." Tsurara nodded, *thats her. I usually avoid fights so she won't roast me, but pranking isn't that bad once in a while. Especially when the pranks get her frazzled and aggravated, making her embarrass herself in front of her crush.* Alloy opened one eye and gave the ghost type a deadpan look before closing it again and continuing his meditation. He liked the calming aura of this place and found it to be quite relaxing.
"I can imagine that," Maya said with a small smile, taking a sip of the tea it was hot and fragrant, smelling faintly of flowers as well. Fable got bored with the tea pot and instead wandered over to the empty cups, inspecting them and sticking her head in them.
*Oh a crush? Sounds wonderfully painful~* Elly said eagerly. *But I don't mind frazzled and aggravated. And don't worry if she tries to roast you. She can't harm me~ Do you have anything in mind? I find a personal touch is always welcome~*
*You do not scare easily...* Bermuda pouted, floating in front of the Pokemon. *Why won't you be scared?!*
Z chuckled as he watched Fable play with the teacups and watched her to make sure she wouldn't get her head stuck in them, "He doesn't do that any more as he's outgrown it in more ways than one," Z chuckled.
"I don't really have a preference," said Tsurara, "as long as it makes me laugh and irritates her I'm fine. Also, I'd rather not have her shoot a flamethrower at me. I don't like the heat very much."
"I don't find your antics to be frightening," said Alloy, "thus it would be illogical to be scared of them. There are much greater things in the world that I have seen that are more frightening than your attempts. Thus, your attempts do not phase me."
"I suppose it would be difficult for him to be on your shoulders..." Maya mused taking another sip. Fable stuck her little head in one of the cups and.
"Prrrriiiiii!" She panicked, tiny white arms flailing about, as she tried to pull her head out of the cup.
"Fable!" Maya panicked, fumbling her cup, spilling some tea. She frantically tried to help the Togepi by gently pulling on the cup.
*What's wrong with a little fire hmm~?* Elly giggled. *Okay~ Then I think I have an idea~* The iron grin on her face curled up in a devious smile.
*Greater things?* Bermuda questioned, his red eyes suddenly sparkling in interest. Perhaps he could learn to scare people from these things! *Like what? Tell me!* He said, bouncing around in front of Alloy eagerly.
Z smiled and took Fable from Maya's hands, gently removing the stuck pokemon from the cup using techniques he developed while raising Sparky and Axew when they were young and innocent as well.
*do tell,* said Tsurara with a chuckled behind her hand, *you certainly have me interested.*
*Have you ever had to face a swarm of ghost/dark types in a dark and enclosed space?* asked Alloy, *they kept coming and wouldn't stop attacking us. those little pests were relentless."
Maya sighed in relief. "Thank you," she said to Z picking up the tiny Pokemon and placing her firmly in her lap. Fable clung to her and Maya was certain that she had now developed an irrational fear of tea cups. Wonderful.
*Hold on~ I need to go get something first. Be right back~* Elly faded out, giggling gleefully. This would be amazing.
*But I am a ghost type!* Bermuda insisted. *Oh but dark enclosed space hmmm? Hmm a box? Should I be a box ghost? I don't care for dark types either.* He glanced at Dororo warily, who seemed to be meditating but actually was keeping an eye on everything.
Z chuckled, "don't worry about it. I'm sure that she will be fine in the end. Just keep her away from objects she can get stuck in until she's mature enough to keep herself from getting hurt."
Tsurara chuckled again as she looked forward to pranking Sparky. The fire type and her have a bit of a rivalry against each other due to their conflicting natures and types. They often got into fights and Z would have to break them apart.
*You're not a dark type though,* said Alloy, *so you have more weaknesses and are less dangerous and less scary.*
"It's difficult because she gets into everything and when her adventures go bad she becomes afraid of them..." Maya sighed, looking down at Fable who was starting to nod off. "I'm afraid that when she grows up she will still be afraid of everything."
Elly reappeared suddenly, a small cloth bag cinched shut with a string floating by her. *Maya has a variety of things kept in the temple... and one of which is this...* The strings on the pouch pulled apart to reveal a shimmering and bright green powder. *Brightpowder~* She giggled madly.
Bermuda gave an upset sound that sounded something like a wet balloon with air escaping from it. *Ghost types are scary too! There is a very scary one that was once here that still tries to haunt my mistress!*
Z chuckled, "You just have to help her along. One day she'll mature and learn more about the world in a safer way so that she won't have to fear. But for now, just take good care of her and give her lots of love and care."
Tsurara cocked her head, "How will some sparkly powder allow us to prank that fire chicken over there? Remember that I don't wish to run away from her flamethrowers again. Last time was bad enough with the burns that I got."
Alloy cracked open one eye, "Oh? A ghost type was haunting this place once? Do tell. It sounds like an intriguing story to be sure." Alloy gave up with meditating and decided to try and talk with this pokemon.
"I'll keep that in mind," Maya replied with a smile. "I've never really raised a baby Pokemon by myself before. Last time I had a baby Pokemon, Oro over there, I was a baby myself." She nodded towards the Greninja who opened one eye at the reference toward himself.
*That's exactly it!* Elly trilled excitedly. *This stuff is so bright that it can reduce accuracy of Pokemon! Now imagine if all of this powder was all over that karate chicken? Her fire power probably makes it works~!*
Bermuda shuddered recalling it. *A terrifying and powerful Pokemon that tormented Pokemon and humans alike within the city... Cursed as with illness and death and confusion... Nothing would make sense. Up would be down and down would be up... water would run backward... And it would screech something horrible...*
"I only raised Sparky and Axew," said Z, "and Sparky wasn't really a hatchling when I found her and nursed her back to health. It was a good way for me to develop bonds with them though."
*I still do not completely understand the intricacies of your master plan,* said Tsurara, *I don't want her shooting fire even if she misses. That would cause too much collateral damage to the building. also, she's right behind you.* Tsurara floated away as Sparky (with an angry aura around her) prepared to blast the mischievous pokemon.
*Do tell me more,* said Alloy, *what did this pokemon look like?
"I can understand that," Maya smiled. "Oro and Bo have been with me a long time..." She thought back briefly.
*What's wrong with a little fire~?* Elly turned about to look at Sparky. *Ara~ Did I ruffle some feathers? Too bad~ You better watch yourself though. If you so much as break anything Dororo will be on you like a frog on a chicken~* She giggled up at the other Pokemon.
*It was nothing but a shadow... a beastly shadow that slithered around the village with piercing red eyes... Some Pokemon swore they saw swing... sometimes it had legs...* He slowly drifted down to the ground as he recounted the terrifying Pokemon. *It is rumored it was some sort of banished god...*
Z smiled as he sipped his tea, "So don't worry. The little ones always grow up. We just need to point them in the right direction so they grow up right." Sparky huffed and went back to sitting in a seiza next to Z, but she kept an eye on Elly to make sure that the smaller pokemon wouldn't try anything. It was bad enough that Tsurara insisted on teasing her, but now she had an accomplice. Sometimes she wished she could take a bit of a vacation and relax, but there was always work for her to do in the mining town. *Intriguing* said Alloy, *I can think of several pokemon that that discription of the shadow could resemble, but the odds of them being around here would be minimal. Tell me, did people suffer from nightmares when the pokemon was around?*
Maya sighed and nodded. "Harder than is seems sadly," she chuckled. "I'm trying though. Not much of an expert though. All this gym leader stuff is rather... new to me."
Elly was delighted in finding someone else to pester and drifted over to the Pokemon. *Hellooo~* She sang to the Blaziken. *You look like you have something stuck up your butt. Kind of like Dororo. You need to loosen up~* Elly didn't tease or bother Dororo like this because the typing wasn't really to her advantage. More than once he had threatened to take her surfing.
Bermuda shook his head, which was his whole body so it was a whole body twist. *No,* He said considering it. *But it felt like one. It was... everything was topsy turvy. Water would run backward... things would disappear and reappear suddenly. Backwards was forwards and up was down. It didn't make any sense. Nothing would grow. It would die as quickly as it sprouted... And we couldn't leave.* He shuddered. *Occasionally there would be an ear splitting roar that shook the temple... horrible...*
Z sighed, "You'll get through it. Don't worry." Alloy frowned *I don't believe I recognize those occurrences. I've never heard of a pokemon that could cause such effects on the environment around it just by being in its presence. the facts hint toward it being a legendary that is causing these things to happen, but I cannot think of one that has the power to do such things. My first guess would have been darkrai, due to your description, but he tends to affect the dream world.* Sparky remained silent and tried to ignore elly. she had learned to control her temper having had to deal with Tsurara all the time and getting along like fire and ice.
