“Sir Marcus. Step forward.” Akane’s smile was huge.
“When I noticed you were actually a competitor, I was shocked and soon forgot about you and your pokemon. I apologize for that, but as a person who sees many different people every day, you can understand my position I hope. But! Your performance has not let me forget you this time.”
“You made a mess in my hall, you probably gave some spectators whiplash, and your performance was most impressive. Your pokemon I assume only knows physical attacks. An obvious disadvantage in a competition like this. However, you most certainly made up for it in your resourcefulness. That earned you large points.”
Akane shifted her weight and applauded Marcus.
“I also quite enjoyed your pokemon's landing from such a height, though my stage is a little worse for wear. Beautiful ending to a magnificent performance. But alas! It didn't end there.”
The audience cheered for they knew what was coming.
“I don’t know if you timed this or triggered it intentionally, but when a pokemon evolves, it a magnificent sight. The fact that is was immediately after you performance, coincidence or otherwise, it sure pulled my guest’s hearts towards your cause.”
Akane was disappointed she couldn’t give more.
“Your score was a six. But do not fret, for there is still part two.”
Akane gave a slight bow to Marcus.

"I wasn't very flashy compared to the rest of you," said Z, "I'll probably get the lower score." "Axew." said Axew, before going to play with sofa and Spheal. "At least he's happy." sighed Z, "He's like a child sometimes." Z shifted his weight nervously.
Eira applauded along with the audience for her new friend. She had to admit that she was a little happy that his score was lower than her's, but she was glad that he did so well while still not having any advantages. "Congratulations Marcus! You really deserved that score!"

Zandrophin could not help but notice how the Pokemon of the other trainers were all starting to congregate together. He had to ask.
Mentus, would you like to begin creating relationships with your fellow Pokemon competitors?
Sir, all due respect, I'm not sure how well that will go; I can sense their uneasiness. As their trainers are nervous of you, their Pokemon are nervous of me.
It never hurts to try, old friend. Come on, let's take a break and mingle for a bit.

Seriously, there's being unconfident and then there's this! What is with this girl? -sigh- I give up. I'm not good at talking to people. I'll just be kind and friendly, and she can deal with her own insecurities. Although zan did try and give her a compliment...I guess there is some good about him.
Marcus looked to the queen for his score. In all the commotion that happened before and after his performance, he realized he didn't really do all that much, but he still felt confident that he and Sofa did a good job on their performance and eagerly awaited her assessment of it.
After her words, he had to admit that he was slightly disappointed. Even though I'm glad she did well, I still don't like that I got lower than Eira. -sigh- guess it can't be helped, we were against the odds the second we were signed up. It's amazing we did as well as we did, considering. He bowed and returned to his spot. "Thanks, Eira. I told you." Smiling, Marcus turned and faced the queen yet again to await z's score.
Sofa had been staring at zandrophin from the moment he noticed the smell, ignoring Spheal and Axew. He sat with calm intensity, focusing on the smell and why he recognized it. *Something....old. Clothes? No. Something in clothes. Pocket? Probably. What is it?*
Axew poked Sofa. "Ax Axew." *hello? anyone there?* Z nervously waited for his score. He didn't know how he compared to the other trainers' acts. He wasn't as flashy as them and wanted to get a good score.

Breaking from their meditation, Zandrophin and Mentus separated. Mentus slipped off of his trainer's arm and floated over to the Pokemon.
Zandrophin walked over to the trainers. Upon hearing Marcus' score, Zandrophin approached him and said,
"You did well. Your ability to motivate an otherwise uninterested Pokemon is impressive. I believe you have some experience with that? Perhaps in your own life? Either way, it does not matter. Job well done."
He extended his right hand towards Marcus...

"Spheal!" Spheal called to Sofa, not liking to be ignored by people when he so eagerly wanted to play with them. He was very much used to being the center of attention since everyone in Silvertree knew he was Eira's partner and a lot of the Pokemon in the village liked to follow him around. Spheal rolled up to Sofa once again and hit his leg.
"I'm glad that you did so well," Eira admitted with a small smile at Marcus. "You're performance really shocked me."
"It shocked me too." Marcus smiled at the somewhat compliment from Eira.
He turned when he saw zandrophin approach. Reluctant, Marcus met zan's hand with his own. "Thank you. I don't know about uninterested Pokemon in general, but I know Sofa, I've known him over half my life, and I know how he thinks. I don't even have to understand him to know what he's thinking. Like right now, he's..." Marcus turned to Sofa to see the little Pokemon bumping into Sofa to get his attention as Mentis went to join them. Sofa, however was staring with a strong intensity at zan, his nose flaring wildly.
Turning back to his new acquaintance, he stuttered, "He...he smells something on you. Something that's confusing him. I don't...he doesn't usually get this intense, and it's surprising he's as calm about this since he's evolved into a vigoroth..."
"Spheal spheal!" Spheal called to Sofa, trying to gain his attention any way possible. Choosing to ignore his trainer's order not to attack other Pokemon, Spheal blew ice in Sofa's face in order to get his attention just like he did with his trainer. "Spheal!"
Eira looked at Zan with a small frown. She just didn't know what to make of him or his partner. She was sure he was a great guy, but something about him made her feel incredibly nervous.

"Is he dangerous in this state? I'd rather not deal with an enraged Pokemon, at this point." Zandrophin asked, more curious than concerned...but he took a step back, as a precaution.
Mentus, are you getting anything?
Nothing, Sir...but let me ask him...perhaps we can find out together.
Mentus turned to Sofa, looked him straight in the eye, and asked:
What do you smell, my friend? Does my Master have a foul scent about him?

Akane knew what her people liked, and they loved every single one of these competitors. But Akane couldn’t believe how close they all seemed to be score-wise. It wouldn't last during the second round.
“Sir Kazi “Z” Carter… What a mouthful of a name you have.” She laughed. “Step forward if you may.”
“As with Marcus, I suppose your little axew has only physical attacks? Well no matter you also gained points in resourcefulness. That dummy was shredded thin enough to go on a sandwich.” Her statement made her hungry. “Your performance was certainly remarkable. Dragon claw, though not a special attack, is always one of my favorites for a competition.”
She gave her shallow bow to him as well.
“And finally your personal part in the routine just warmed my heart, and I’m sure gave my audience a symbolic appreciation for your routine. If I could award more than one point for unlisted points, I would double it for that one.” She was ready to reveal her score.
“As with the other contestants I think you deserve a higher score, but alas my own morals and rules wouldn’t allow it. Don’t be worried, because this score doesn’t count for much, but please. Accept you five with the highest honor, and realize just how high your score actually is.”
She summoned her guard up to her side while the audience was congratulating him, just so she could make him retrieve a sandwich for her.
