Nicole giggled slightly at the Golett's action, while Nero gave the flower a small look and then huffed slightly, picking it up gently and handing it to Phaedra. While this was going on, Nicole thought about what the two had asked and shrugged. "Sure, I don't see why the two of you couldn't come along. And thanks Prasha, but I can deal with the desert. I traveled around with Nero as a Vulpix for a long time so I learned a thing or two about survival." She said with a small smile. "Besides, I've lived most of my life in the Desert in Hoenn. I'm resourceful for a fourteen year old!" Saying this she looked down at Nero and patted his side. "And here is my trusty companion and steed." She joked getting a small playful pout back from the Ninetails. Phaedra gave a small snicker at this drawing Nicole's attention to her. "Oh, you don't think I don't have a title for you too? You're my little rising star." She said getting a pout from the Braixen almost immediately. That said and done, Nicole nodded her head and looked to the sky once more. "If you two are ready to go, we should start walking now. I plan to take a slightly longer route to the Desert Wastes as I want to hit the beginning area of the Jagged Ridge first." She informed the two before urging Nero to start moving. Phaedra, taking the cue, began walking as well.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
Victor was quite a bit older than his new companions, but he hoped they had better survivor skills then him. He wasn't a fighter, he used his mind to solve his problems, but in the desert, such a feat is hard to accomplish. He would offer aid where he could, but in a fight he would allow Nachos to take lead. Atlas could fight, but he had only seen him in battle mode once and it destroyed half of an underground city. He was a soft hearted mound of destruction. "That plan sounds fine with me. How about you Atlas?"
Atlas looked at Victor and gave a slight nod. "Can I count on you to play nice?" The pokemon nodded again. Victor took out his canteen and took a swig. "So both of you have been to Celosia? I've never been, but I heard it is the most developed nation on the continent." Victor put away his canteen, and looked at the sun. He immediately jotted down notes in his notebook. "Ok when both of you are ready, so am I."
"Only create what you understand, and even then use caution."
Nicole nodded to Victor and then to Prasha. "Then, I hope you're ready to start walking, because Phaedra has already begun that process and Nero already has his cue." She said feeling the Ninetails shifting his feet from her seat on his back. Phaedra had, luckily, only taken about twelve steps away from the group and was now looking at them with an expectant look that spoke of her impatience to get on with the journey. Nicole merely gave her a look and then sighed and shook her head. "Phaedra has spoken. Shall we get moving then?" She asked before Nero began to move forward to answer her question in his own way. This gained him a small shake of the head and a tighter grip when Nicole felt herself almost slip. "Guess that answers that question." She called over her shoulder trying to include an apologetic look in the process. Really, she was starting to wonder why her sweet, social, little Vulpix had become an anti-social, still sweet to her and her other Pokemon only Ninetails.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
Prasha nodded. "I cannot go with you right now, I need to get back to Pyron ASAP. I wish you all the luck however." Prasha took a sip from his canteen and gathered his things. "I am truly sorry, It was bad timing." Prasha took a few steps to get up to speed and began running toward Pyron. "Good Luck. Nicole. Nice to meet you Victor." Prasha waved and sprinted off across the land.
Prasha was back on track ready to go home and deliver this precious cargo to the Tower. He ran across the last bit of dunes and entered the grass land, putting the wastes behind him.
Prasha's quick change to leave them confused Victor. He would have felt better having the young man around, and with the pokemon for protection he would have felt even more so secure. "Well I bid you safe travels Prasha." Victor nodded and turned back to Nicole. "Well if you will still have me i'd like to travel with you a bit. Do not worry I am self sufficient." Victor was still surprised a girl so young was traveling on her own. He felt a fatherly sense to watch over her. He never had a family of his own, but Nicole's free and independent spirit is something he would wish for his own flesh and blood.
"Only create what you understand, and even then use caution."
Prasha was running and felt a sense of guilt, so he halted and changed his direction following his path of dust back to the two fellow trainers. He spotted the two and came to a skidding halt right next to them. "SOOOOOOOOOOO, Did you miss me?" Prasha chuckled with a toothpick in his mouth. "I thought about it and hell why not travel this delivery can wait." Prasha grinned and reached for two Pokeballs on his belt.
Prasha let loose Steel and Luchy. Who appeared to be extremely happy with Prasha who had found them playing around in a garden on his journey. The two looked at him and let out cries of happiness, Steel the full fledged Aggron was still a child at heart and was a bit clumsy, but still got the ob done. And Luchy the Hawlucha was plain fun to be around.
"Hey, Luchy you think you can fly ahead when I need you too? Scout the area out?" Prasha grinned at the Hawlucha who nodded and waled happily showing off his colorful wings. "Hey Steel stay close to me, eh?" Prasha patted the Aggron on his stomach plate Armour. Steel roared with laughter as if it tickled him. Prasha laughed and then intraduced the two trainers. "Victor and Nicole, this is Luchy and Steel. Both are new additions to my team." As Prasha was introducing the two a flash of light and Zeal popped out of her ball and stretched feeling the beginning of sand in her paws. 'PRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" Zeal purred and rubbed against Prasha's leg. "And this is Zeal, she will probably stay right by my side the whole way."
Nicole was about to respond to Victor when Prasha returned stating he would be coming with the two and introducing his new Pokemon. This gave her whiplash. Could minds be made up solidly? Please? For the sake of those around the impatient Ninetails? Why was that the question? Simple. Nero was starting to twitch under her hold on his neck, his shoulder blades moving forward slightly before moving back as though he was readying himself to launch forward. Phaedra too was showing inpatients, as she had taken a very human stance with her paws crossed in front of her chest, foot tapping in a fast paced rhythm. Taking a deep breath in and releasing it, Nicole gave the two trainers and the Pokemon behind her a wide smile that seemed to twitch slightly as though it was about to fall.
"I believe I have said, almost ten times now that you may come with me. If you are going to then we NEED to go. One more delay and I will have to decline, and Nero will gladly leave you in dust, and Phaedra will most likely cover you in dust using a Psychic for good measure. They've learned a thing or two since we last met, though you only met Nero at that point and I didn't have Phaedra." She said casually hearing Nero huff in agreement while one Phaedra's paws was now reaching behind her for good measure. Shaking her head she moved to calm both of them down by moving one hand to pat Nero on the head and the other hand to shake a finger at Phaedra in a "no" motion. She then bit her bottom lip and gave a nervous laugh.
"Okay... That was harsh... Sorry! I forgot that I had that problem... I haven't had a sarcastic moment in a while.... Forgive me?" She asked bowing her head with her words, the instant regret eating at her. She really needed to learn how to control her temper and her words better. That was something that would hopefully become easier as she got used to being around people for longer periods of time instead of just events that she could easily duck out of, or places she could easily exit.
She also hoped this didn't damage Victor's or Prasha's thoughts about her. She didn't mean to get sarcastic with them... Really, she didn't.... Arceus this was going to eat at her....
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
"She is right we must be heading out. We need to get to where we are going and soon. The Astrapi own the Desert lands and they are a brutal group. Hope that we do not cross their path. Come on Atlas." Victor began walking in the direction Nicole was headed. He didn't want to take lead, but they needed to make enough progress before nightfall. He heard the stories. Astrapi bombing entire villages, stealing, and enslaving pokemon. The few free tribes left in the region were now on the run from them, and Victor needed to reach them before...it was too late. His invention would allow them to travel at a much faster rate and carry more supplies. He didn't care about the money at this point he just wanted to save them from a terrible fate.
Atlas ran after Victor, at an almost wattling pace. The road ahead would be dangerous, but with a few friends it might be a bit easier.
"Only create what you understand, and even then use caution."
Prasha smiled to himself at what Nicole said. Then he hoisted his pack up more and set off catching up to Victor and Atlas. Zeal and Steel were right beside them, The towering Aggron and the Persian prancing next to him. Luchy was in the air the warm air felt good on his wings. They were right it would be better to follow as a group, besides Prasha really had nothing to do and this adventure was going to be really fun.
"Ahhhh Your right victor might as well come along." Prasha walked like he pretended to be a soldier. Steel laughed a bit and the roar shook the ground beneath them. "Steel don't scare everyone, buddy." Prasha laughed a bit too as the three head off.
Nicole was surprised when the two didn't say anything about her snapping at them, and instead agreed that there was the need to get going. Nero, seemingly sensing this, started walking, easily by-passing Victor to make himself and Nicole the head of the group with Phaedra running to catch up with him only slowing when she was beside her brother. When Steel let out his roar, Phaedra jumped slightly while Nero gave a small huffing laugh at his sisters expense. Phaedra, in turn, gave her brother a cold look and then pouted. Nicole shook her head at the two's interactions and gave a small laugh of her own, nuzzling into Nero's neck as she shifted her arms around his neck.
What the group didn't see is a pair of eyes peering at them from one of the natural bushes, slowly tracking them with curiosity. The thing watching them, when it heard Steel's roar, startled and let out a small growl before bolting out of where it was hiding and charging the group, quickly bolting around the walking groups feet towards the area in front of them, angry sounds coming from it the whole while.
The confusion of having a sudden Pokemon appearance caused Nero to stop suddenly, while Phaedra quickly moved in front of her brother and her trainer blocking them from the now apparent Furret.
"What...? A Furret?!" Nicole questioned looking at the Pokemon that was standing threateningly in front of the group growling at them. "Are we in it's territory? But that's kind of odd... You would think they would prefer to be further out in the plains than on the boarder of a land that has high heat...." She mused hoping her companions would not jump to suddenly battling the Pokemon in front of them. It just seemed to be warning them right now, though it did run through the group, it had not attacked as of yet.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
The moment the Furret ran toward them the only thing going through Victor's mind was, [Atlas is going to freakout.] Victor quickly looked at his companion and the Golett was petrified. Atlas for once in his life was standing perfectly still. "What is wrong Atlas? The cuteness is too much for you?" Atlas still didn't move. "Well if we are in his territory, but it seems odd it would just come out and challenge a large group. " Victor thought the pokemon would be a nice catch, but he couldn't handle another pokemon right now. Atlas was too much of a hand full. "Well someone can always catch it." Victor smiled catching pokemon seemed barbaric to him at first, but when a pokemon bonds with a trainer a whole new personality comes out. Much like what he had seen so far with Nicole's pokemon.
"Only create what you understand, and even then use caution."
Prasha watched the Furret and laughed to himself. Steel moved in front of Prasha stared directly at the Furret and began charging a Flash Cannon. "No Steel it might be watching it's young, be careful." Steel stopped charging the Flash Cannon and stood watching everyone carefully. When steel wasn't goofing off or being clumsy, he was a damn good fighter.
"Perhaps He/She is watching their young, but it is strange for a Furret to be out this way, unless it got lost or left behind by it's trainer." Prasha knelt down and tried to coax the little thing to him with a berry in the palm of his hand. Luchy was flying circles around the group looking for anyone else along the path.
Nicole nearly panicked when Steel began charging up the Flash Cannon, but let out a sigh of relief when Prasha stopped him. She then looked at Victor and gave him a raised eyebrow at his comment about catching it before shaking her head. Turning her attention back to the Furret, she watched as, instead of going for the berry in Prasha's hand, it back up it's growls growing louder, it's eyes darting around at all the Pokemon in the group, briefly falling on the trainers as well. "Prasha... Pull your hand back, I think it's too scared to comprehend a peace offering." She said loud enough for the man to hear, her eyes never leaving the Pokemon in front of them. Then a detail about the Pokemon hit Nicole and her eyes widened more. "Is that Furret... A shiny? No... But... I could have sworn...." She commented before giving a loud gasp that she quickly covered her mouth for.
The Furret jumped at Nicole's sudden intake of air and fixated it's eyes on her general area on top of Nero and behind Phaedra, fur beginning to stand on end on its back. It then launched itself forward towards the girl, intent on getting past Phaedra to get to her. Phaedra acted immediately, going to reach for her stick, only to be cut off by the Furret attempting to use Scratch on her. This made the Braixen even more upset and set her to Tail Whip the Furret making it jump back in surprise. Phaedra then pulled fire around her for a Flame Charge and slammed into the Furret sending it even further away. Once the Furret was further away, Phaedra reached for her stick again, intent on keeping up the barrage of attacks.
"Phaedra! Enough, stop it! It's down! See, it's having trouble standing!" Nicole shouted trying to stop her Braixen from continuing the assault on the struggling to stand Furret... That wasn't a Furret. Slowly, the image of the Furret began to flicker and a shiny blue was seen from time to time until it became more prominent and permanent. There in the place of the Furret was a Zorua, glaring and growling at the group. Acting quickly, Nicole jumped from Nero's back, patting Phaedra on the head as she passed her in thanks for her stopping her attacks, and cautiously made her way over to the Zorua. "Hey there... I'm not going to hurt you...." She said soothingly to the hurting Pokemon, who continued to glare and softly growl at her. Meanwhile, in the background, a bright light began to cover Phaedra who looked down at herself in slight surprise.
"I guess normal was never supposed to be a word for me." - Nicole
Victor wasn't worried about the pokemon. When Atlas doesn't understand something he can sometimes get to curious and start an incident. "Atlas, fetch." Victor pulled a metal rod from his pack that was attached to a sling. He mashed the gears together and then slung the rod an extreme distance. Atlas immediately ran after it. "Sorry, I have to do that sometimes he gets all anxious and needs something to preoccupy himself." Victor then sat down away from the current situation. Clearly this was between Nicole and the interesting pokemon and Victor would have no part of it. If anyone needed a lesson electricity then he would be of use, but at the current time all he could do was watch.
"Only create what you understand, and even then use caution."
Prasha stood there and cocked his head to the side. "Well I'll be damned. No wonder that Furret was far from home." Prasha watched Nicole interact with the Pokemon. "I have never seen one of these before." Prasha hung back, but Steel took a step closer trying to be friendly. "Steel do not scare the shaken up thing you are to big." Prasha chuckled as Luchy landed on Steel's shoulder.
"Haawww" Luchy exclaimed trying to get Prasha's attention. Luchy glided down to the ground and walked over to Prasha and showed him a berry. It was silver with blue spots and had a red stem. Prasha had never seen such a berry and he took it in his hand "Thanks Luchy I will have to study this one." Prasha was always on the lookout for rare or unknown berries. He used them in his recopies and teas, as well as a means of medicine as well.
