May 12th
Wandering in the shadows of the morning, she waited for the dawn to break. Recently she had seen a floating sunrise fluttering about in the gardens. This was the day, she decided, that she would greet it. As it had with the past mornings, shown up at the first rays of the sun’s light as it crept over the castle walls. The Red woman had stood back up when the fluttering creature flew into her gorgeous courtyard, she wore must’ve been built by celebi had she not witnessed her gardeners and their grass pokemon build it for her. Almost as gracefully as the creature had come, Akane stepped forward and made her presence known.
”Morning friend. I am the Mistress of this castle. I have been told a lot about your strength, and if you would, I would like you to join me, be it for battle or otherwise. I am, however, a touch trainer. I have been told though, albeit tough, a very rewarding trainer.”
She paused to let it sink into the vivillion frozen in place by her dark aura. Silas silently strode from behind Akane to issue the challenge. Vivillion responded in kind with a psybeam.
A move I will replace she thought to herself as Silas was barely affected by the weak move and henceforth retaliated with building a thunderbolt that seemed to just recycle the psybeam. ’Perhaps,’ she thought, ’it isn’t as strong as they said. I remember them saying it was unusually strong. She shook her head, but her thoughts soon vanished after Silas released his thunderbolt. The vivillion’s wings were flapping so fast they were vibrating. Bug buzz. Interestingly strong move. The thunderbolt was stuck in front of the vivillion, but what caught Akane’s eye was the increasing winds that began to gently tug her hair around her bare forearms.
In a matter of seconds Akane watched as Silas’ claws gripped the ground, and she found her own feet moving for a good foothold. She watched as the hurricane move wafted the thunderbolt around before sending it out towards Silas, now that the bolt was fire at hurricane speeds, Silas had but one choice. The luxray arched his back and let lose all the pent up electricity and let it loose into he courtyard, fraying Akane’s hair slightly. Akane couldn’t resist a smile. It is strong. Excellent. Akane could barely contain her excitement.
The discharged managed to through the thunderball, now charged even more back towards the vivillion. The vivillion used the existing winds from its hurricane to bat the ball back yet again, and again Silas would bat it back. The dangerous volley continued until the thunderbolt began rallying real thunderbolts from the altered weather. Akane knew it would not last long now. Silas fired another super intense thunderbolt at the existing one. The red haired trainer watched eagerly as the vivillion’s attention was focused on the ball of lighting, but Silas had moved. Using his speed he quickly found his way behind the distracted vivillion and held it in place with ice fang to take the super charged thunderbolt. The vivillion became frozen at the bite, and Silas backed away just as the ball hit the ice that encased the vivillion. Electrically charged shards of ice were scattered everywhere. The vivillion still floated; barely it dropped to the ground, one wing twitching and looked Akane who was now towering over it holding a friend ball.
With a simple ”Viv…” Akane gently touched the ball to the battered pokemon. Instantly, the pokemon was caught in the ball. She gently ran her fingers over the red and yellow gems that gave the friend ball its pattern and gave her thanks before turning back to Silas. He was neither proud, nor upset by the occasion. His serious nature practically forbade emotions on the matter. But he soon gave a small sound of happy-shock when Akane told him he would be the one she helped train their new friend first.
Much later in the day, Akane rested outside in her courtyard with Silas sitting next to her, being gently stroked by his master’s brush. Looking off into the distance she was surprised when a servant of her castle opened the door to reveal a healthy vivillion, whose wings glittered in the sunlight. The blues and reds were radiant and brilliantly gleaming now that it was healthy again.
”There you are. You look stunning, I assume you’re ready for your training tomorrow.”
The vivillion answered with fluttering nods; bobbing up and down with each nod.
”Good. But first, how about a name?”
Silas walked up and looked at her almost as expectantly as the vivillion.
”Hmmm…” she mused. ”Your wings, they’re like the sun… with the rays of light from the fire. But it harmonizes with the yellow sky and especially the blue sea even though the sun sits upon it. That’s it.”
Silas already knew, but was pleased to hear her say it as he fully agreed.
”You’re new name is Celosia. Because you embody everything this kingdom does. No wonder you were drawn to me.”
Celosia could not be happier. It flew around in circles and even Silas let it play with him. Akane smiled gently.
”I know it sounds like a female’ s name, but I think you’ll wear it proudly and advocate Celosia better than any other Celosia out there.”
Akane beamed at the Celosia before the trio returned inside the palace. Celosia, like all Akane’s other pokemon, was offered his own room; but like all of her other pokemon, refused to sleep anywhere except in Akane’s bedroom. However, like the other pokemon, he did use the room to store his super cool stuff, and slept in there occasionally.
