Zandrophin was awake well before the others. He'd managed to jump back from the tree into the room and shut the window, all without making a sound or leaving any trace snow on the floor.
Water is bad for wood, Sir....especially when it's frozen.
After packing up their things, the pair went down into the main living area, where Rhys greeted them with a nod and a soft grunt.
"I don't imagine you slept too well in that tree, kid...especially with the wind last night."
"We don't mind the cold, Sir. It's bracing. Besides, the night was beautiful...quite serene."
"Rare for someone like you, I'd imagine...tea?"
The hermit handed both Zandrophin and Mentus a cup of tea. The pair graciously accepted and drank.
Sir...Master Marcus has awakened...and Miss Maya, as well.
Finally.....we can get moving.
Mentus teleported out of the room, and appeared behind Marcus, who was still coming down the stairs, and greeted him cheerily,
Good morning, Master Marcus!

Marcus spun around on the stairs at the sudden surprise, almost losing his balance. Sofa grabbed his arm just in case. "Gee-aahhh...Don't do that." He turned back around and walked down the rest of the steps, calming his heart. "Good morning, Mentus."
Sofa went to the window to check the weather. It had snowed some the night before; they had some more inches to deal with than yesterday. Marcus walked up to Rhys, intent on starting off as soon as possible. "So, about our supplies..."
"In a rush? Okay. Are you sure you don't want to wake up first, have something to eat?"
"That can wait. I want to clear everything up first. We need better clothes for the cold and some food that'll last us the trip there."
"All right. This way then. Aelhaearn; get them anything they need while I'm helping Mr. Gleyser." The Gastly floated out of the east wall into the room with a blank look on his face, which unfortunately was still creepy; his giant eyes calm as his tiny pupils looked around the room. Rhys lead Marcus into the room full of ski equipment on display as Marcus tried to think up a reasonable amount to pay for all the services Rhys had given them.

Mentus followed Marcus down the stairs, and then flew back up to the second floor landing. He sat down on the railing on the second floor, and waited for Maya to emerge. He'd greeted Marcus, it was only fair that he greet her, too...but this time with less of a desire to spook. He giggled inside about the boy's startled reaction.
Zandrophin watched Marcus walk in and head straight for Rhys...and put his offer of food on the sidelines.
That was rather rude of him...we may have a schedule...but a bit to eat wouldn't put us too far behind.
He chuckled as he thought,
Ironic...surrounded by snow and ice...and he still needs to chill out.
Warily, he kept his eyes on the Ghastly without drawing too much attention to himself...

Maya trod down the stairs and looked up and blinked in surprise. Mentus sat perfectly perched on the landing railing. She paused and gave a small smile. "Good morning, Mentus," she said.
"Maaaaaareeee!" Bo bleated happily to the Abra in greeting as well before galloping the rest of the stairs down. Maya followed after the fluffy sheep with a smile, feeling surprisingly well rested. She pulled her hood up once again as she went to the bottom of the stairs and walked in to where Marcus and Rhys was.

Good morning, Miss Maya, Bo.
Mentus flew down the stairs and rejoined Zandrophin in the sitting room. Zandrophin looked up and nodded at Maya. She seemed to be looking for something.
"If you're looking for our fearless leader and the hermit...they're in there."
He gestured to the adjacent room and went back to his tea, gently stroking Mentus' head.
Alright..we're all awake....now we all just need to eat and we can get out of here. We've already lost a lot of time.....we'll have to make it up somehow.
He decided to go check around the house. He put on his coat and slipped out the door for a bit...the cold air would relax him a bit before heading out.

Marcus was walking back with Rhys as he fiddled with his new coat. It felt weird to have a thick article of clothing on; he was so used to loose, airy shirts and jackets and baggy jeans.
"Seems like it. It's rare that I get paid in Poke, but I'll make an exception for you kids. You are a very interesting bunch..." Rhys paused and tilted his head just as the front door closed, "and I get the feeling I'm going to be seeing you again."
Marcus looked up to see Maya as she walked towards them. "Rhys says that you can go pick any jacket you want from his stock. Don't worry, it's already paid for."
Maya blinked in surprise as she walked where Zandrophin gestured. "Already paid for? Everything? Are you sure?" She looked at the jackets. She had her own very suitable jacket for the ice and the snow... but.
She selected a somewhat lightweight jacket that would be suitable and could fit under her current heavy jacket. It was soft and fuzzy to boot. She threw it on to try it out for size. "Are you sure Marcus?" She questioned again, inspecting the jacket. It smelled like a clean fragrant incense.
Marcus looked at Maya for about two seconds with an involuntary smirk before responding, "Of course. It looks great on you. That big coat and hood hide your face. You should wear it down more often. Although not while we're out in the snow; of course. Now where is zan? We just need food provisions and we should be heading out."
Rhys joined Aelhaearn and turned around, "I prepared your dried food last night. It should last you a few weeks. It shouldn't take that long to get there; but that's if you find it. I'm still skeptical it exists. And I believe that closing door earlier was him leaving the house."
"Great...Sofa, could you go find them and tell Mentus we're going to go join them, so they should come meet us at the door?" Sofa nodded and left for the door, the cold wind rushing in as it closed behind him. "Maya, could you carry some of the food for us? I don't have room in my bag for 2 weeks of food; but I can handle about ten days-worth."
Maya slipped off the coat and frowned a bit. "The big coat and hood is necessary," Maya insisted quietly, more to herself. She looked down at Bo who had dived into a pile of scarves and gloves. Several wool gloves clung to her, static crackling as she moved about. She mumbled to herself about other things such as people minding their own business about other people's clothes before stopping and snapping her head back up.
"Oh, yes of course," she replied to Marcus, pawing through her bag and checking how much space there was. "I can probably handle about eight days worth of food in here. But for three people it will likely be shorter than that... Not to mention any Pokemon that will not be in Pokeballs. Bo doesn't eat much though."
The cold was refreshing. The day was quite beautiful, the sun was shining and the ice and snow was shimmering. Zandrophin adjusted his pack as he looked to the sky and saw Mentus flying back to him.
Perimeter's secure, old friend. How's our path ahead look?
The snow is a bit thick, Sir...but I can assure there are no Mammoswine.
Good...we don't need another of those instances.
Sir, the ape is approaching.
Zandrophin turned around and saw Sofa searching for them. When he saw them, Sofa began gesturing towards the house. No translation was needed.
Looks like it's time to go. Let's head back.
The trio walked back to the door. Sofa went back inside, followed shortly by Zandrophin and Mentus.

Rhys took a biting tone with Maya, "When I said it would last you a few weeks, I meant it would last you a few weeks. I took into account that there were more than one of you, Ms. Reed. Also, this food isn't the pre-made or fresh 'survival food' you have in towns. It's jerky, mushrooms, berries and nuts. Doesn't take up much space and quickly fills you up. I wouldn't eat more than you need to if I were you."
"Okay...honest mistake." Marcus put his hands up passively in an attempt to lighten the mood. "May we have the food please?" Rhys sighed and left through the east hallway. Marcus turned to Maya with a face that almost seemed to say, 'That was awkward...' "....Okaay. So...you carrying about 5 days worth sound good? My backpack has extra room from the food we packed and ate taking the long way to Enya."
Shortly after, Rhys returned with a basket and about 20 small leather bags in it; each slightly bigger than a grapefruit. He placed it on the front desk and turned to the two of them, "Here you are."
Marcus started packing the bags into his backpack and right as he finished, Sofa, zandrophin and Mentus returned. "Oh hey. Enjoy your walk?"
Zandrophin shook the snow and ice out of his hair. He looked at Marcus.
"The immediate area is secure...and our path ahead looks relatively clear; Mentus scouted from the air. We can assure you this time, o fearless leader, that there will not be a rampage of fur and tusks trying to kill us. Our route has been iced over a bit, but thick snow shouldn't cause too much of a problem. However, we should try to leave as soon as possible."
He began to put some of the extra supplies in his pack, just waiting for the word to move out.

"Alright....I guess that's everything." Marcus turned to Rhys and held out his hand. Rhys' firm grip felt almost reassuring, not overpowering but it showed his strength. It reminded him of his father's handshake the day he left on this journey. "Thank you for all your help, Rhys. I can't tell you what it means to me. I'll do my best to send you business from up north to prove to you Silvertree exists. Alright, folks; let's move out." The group left the outpost and regrouped outside of the door.
"Alright, so we head west until we hit the lake. Let's hope we're going the proper way." And that we make it. Walking away from their last safe haven, Marcus looked back at Rhys' home one last time. It's weird, I just know that I'm going to miss him.
"It appears so." Rhys grabbed Marcus' outreached hand and shook it with feeling. He felt a sort of affinity for the boy, like a nephew or second cousin maybe. He was so very much not like him at his age, and that felt like a good thing. He chuckled at Marcus' remark and shook his head. "Be careful; if I become too popular, my secluded little forest home won't be so secluded anymore."
Rhys looked on with a smile as the group passed, "Farewell, young ones. Be safe." His eyes fell on zandrophin and his lip curled ever so slightly, "I look forward to seeing all of you again." Aelhaearn floated happily as their guests started to leave, calling softly from the back of the room, So long, Priestess. Say thank you to the other one for me.
The door closed and his smile disintegrated into a look of concern. "No need to worry..." Rhys breathed in deep and then let it out; his face back to it's usual calm nature. "Team Rocket was bound to show up in Asemon eventually. They might not know I'm here or even care. Even if they do, I'd love to see them try and recruit me again. That Abra didn't even try to enter my head, and even if he had tried; he had no hope of getting in. Still, the odds that he would be someone that was under his command.....and he looks just like him too."

"Sounds like a plan," Maya said hesitantly to Marcus, confused at the sudden change in the Rhys' mood. However, rather then be afraid she felt offended and she frowned as she shoved things into her bag. She didn't say anything though. What did he think she was carrying in her bag? A full course meal and dessert? She wasn't stupid.
"Agreed," she said, zipping up her pack and hefting it onto her shoulders when Zandrophin walked in. The sooner they got started the better. Maya paused as she heard the ghostly voice of the Gastly in her head and smiled slightly though she tilted her head in confusion as they headed out the door. Other one? Thank you for what? She thought in some confusion.
