"Oh, I will be fine, Miss....this just requires a great amount of concentration to be productive...if only his hairs were darker..."
Zandrophin watched with slight amusement as the small electric Pokemon dashed around his chair while the others proceeded with their game.
"Let's hope they don't make a mess...my groundskeeper would never forgive me."
As Zandrophin said this, Phaedra's chase of Pandora was brought to an interesting end. The small Zorua turned sharply in avoidance, more than the Delphox could manage. Phaedra tumbled through the grass and into an assortment of lilac shrubs. Zandrophin shook his head and grinned slightly, rubbing his forehead.
"Why do I even say these things? She's not going to be happy about that."
As if on cue, Rose came around the bend to see the Delphox emerging from her lilacs. The Roserade put her flowered "hands" on her hips and frowned.
"Rose!.....Roserade..."
Zandrophin turned slightly in his chair to attempt to remedy the situation,
"My dear, there's no real damage. They were just playing. Besides--"
"Roserade! Rose-Rose!"
"Yes, but--"
"Rose. Roserade?"
"I'm sure they meant nothing by it. Look at it this way: it could've been much worse, right? At least she's not big enough to crush them, or worse, set them on fire."
This 'joke' was not received well by the flower Pokemon. The next few moments were a cacophony of her cries of distress and Zandrophin's failing attempts to keep the conversation civil. During this time, Mentus hovered over to the table and sipped from Zandrophin's drink while he was otherwise engaged. Then he spoke to Nicole,
"This happens fairly often...but if he didn't need Rose so much, he wouldn't put up with this behavior. She's very passionate, you understand...this garden is her whole life. I wouldn't worry about any reprimands, we'll get this all sorted out."
