Nicole knew her first move wasn't going to get her many points, but this time, she was hoping it would be a little different. "Alright Cael, take the Acrobatics to offense and use it to dodge the attacks while firing the Dragon Pulse!" She shouted watching as the Flamethrower hit Cael briefly on the wings before the Acrobatic took full course and the rest of it was dodged while the Pokemon released the built up Dragon Pulse. The pulse traveled around in short bursts towards Sparky. "Now, defensive Fly maneuver!" She called watching as Cael moved out of the Acrobatic and stopped the Dragon Pulse to shoot up into the air using his speed. Nicole then looked over at Z. "Your turn." She called with a small smile.

"Sparky!" said Z, "Kick the attacks with a Blaze Kick then get into the air while doing a spinning flamethrower."
Sparky did a spinning Blaze Kick that struck the pulses once they were within range, detonating them in a colorful explosion, before leaping into the air, breathing fire from her mouth while looking up and spinning, surrounding her in a twister of flames.
Once she reached the peak of her jump, Z called out a command, "get in close and use Close Combat!"
Sparky shrouded her foot in fire and directed the fire to be like a jet that shot her forward while her fist glowed with energy and the flames from her flamethrower trailed off of her and faded due to her having stopped using the attack. She shot at Cael looking similar to a living comet. Z post 2
"Cael, turn the fly offensive, add Zen Headbutt!" Nicole called. It was going to be interesting in her eyes to see the battle of speed. "Just remember to not go for the KO!" She then threw in, remembering that it might be good to remind the Pokemon of this fact. Cael immediately moved into the set-up combination, his dive turning from normal the more focused, while sphere of light for the Zen Headbutt formed over his back. Then the sphere shot forward. "Defensive Dragon Pulse!" Nicole shouted as soon as Cael swerved in just enough time to dodge actually physically headbutted Sparky. Stopping far enough away, Cael then started the Dragon Pulse but kept it close to him, moving his head in intricate patterns to create a web like look in front of him.

Z frowned as sparky flipped back from the attack and landed on the ground. This was getting a bit tricky. Z was more used to gym battles than contest appeal battles. Nevertheless, he would give his all in this round. "Sparky," said Z, "use flamethrower to get into the air and do a Blaze Kick straight down!" Sparky nodded and shot flames at the ground, using them like a rocket to get into the air before igniting her foot and streaking down, foot first at Cael, spinning as she went to make a twister-like flame trail.
Nicole bit her lip in thought as to what she could do. [color=7d1b81"So he wants to play from the sky, so shall we... I guess. Let's see what will happen when we combine his and our attacks."[/color] She said to herself, though there was a smile on her face. "Hey, Z, this reminds me of the fact you owe me a rematch at some point." She called before turning her attention to Cael.
"No KO. Turn the Dragon Pulse offensive, add in Fly! Then go into a defensive Acrobatics!" Nicole called, watching as Cael tuned his head upward and he flew towards Sparky's outstretched foot. There was a moment of contact being made by bright light, but there was also the looks of what could have been Acrobatics as well, this hopefully meant that the two attacks just cancelled each other out, and that she hadn't done something silly.

"That is true," said Z as he watched the display, "and I have gotten stronger along with my team since our last match. But for now, Sparky, stay in the air with Blaze Kick and Close Combat when you can. Get in close and keep it from avoiding!"
Sparky shot more flames from her feet, using them like jets as she kicked off the air using sheer leg strength to stay aloft. Sparky had trained her muscles to the point that she could actually kick fast and hard enough that the air wouldn't be able to move out of the way in time, giving her a boost, though it eventually tired her out. She used this ability to shoot at Cael with her fists and feet glowing to give her the boost she needed to stay aloft while she tried to get close to slam Cael with punches. Z post 4
Nicole gave a small smile at that. "Okay Cael, Final countdown time. They want to be in the air, show them why it's your element. Turn the Acrobatics offensive, Add Fly! End with the Acrobatics going defensive!" She called. Cael did exactly that. Rushing towards the still airborne Sparky, he twisted and twirled through the air at fast speeds. She knew, that once the attack hit, the speed would stop and allow for a better chance of Z getting in a hit, but she was happy with how she had performed in the contest, so she was glad to accept whatever happened next.
"Let's make this the best we've done yet!" She called to Cael as he was finally within hit distance of Sparky. She also turned her attention to Z and gave him a smile. "Now it's your move." She called. Nicole Post: 5

"Finish strong Sparky!" said Z, "strike with close combat and land softly with a Blaze Kick. And lets add in an Attract for good measure."
Sparky shot forward and slammed her fist into Cael as he shot at her for their final move. Once that was done, she used a Blaze Kick to slow her descent while spinning and releasing hearts from her attract move to add to the showmanship of the move. when she touched down, Sparky was surrounded by glittering hearts that drifted away.
The red queen stood up, and flattened out the layers of her gown. With Doom trotting beside her, head held high and chest puffed out, Akane sauntered to the stage where her two contestants remained. Akane examined the pokemon, both pretty exhausted, perhaps five minutes was too much? She summoned them to either side of her with a simple wave of her arm, and in the other she examined her notes-just to be sure. She was surprised with the results.
”That was a fantastic contest battle. I realize with your two physical fighters, this must’ve been a tough battle. But I must say, your training has improved over these last years ten-fold. But enough about that, we’re here for the results!” a deep haughty, showmanship laugh roared from the queen’s throat.
”Now, after close evaluation, it was clear your pokemon were growing a little tired towards the end. But Nicole, your amazing thirty-two could simply not beat Z’s thirty-five points. Your Cael was impressive, those were some powerful moves. But I’ve known Sparky since she was a torchic, and her fire burns bright. Plus her cheeky number at the end, I think, won over the hearts of the audience, am I correct in this assumption?”
The crowd roared, hooted, and hollered. ”I look forward for your participations in my holiday contests!”
