Zandrophin entered the town that was so familiar to him once again. In two years, Silvertree had changed very little, in the grand scheme of things. The snow had gotten remarkably less dense since his last visit, which was a nice change. It made it much easier to navigate.
How quaint, it hasn't changed at all...
Mentus bobbed his head in agreement.
Still, it does possess a certain charm. I wonder who else has arrived here...
In a few moments, his questions were answered. Before him, he saw Ladies Eira and Akane, Miss Maya, and Master Kazi.
Nice crowd...familiar faces everywhere.
Zandrophin approached the group, adjusting the sleeves on his shirt.
"Mister Zandrophin," said Z with a smile, "how good it is to see you again. Thank you so much for helping set up the trade routes to and from Starfort. The City is becoming a truly prosperous place. How has your company been doing?"
As Z talked with him, he put down the ledgers that he had been going over while waiting for the queens to return from their walk. Z was truly grateful for what Zandrophin had done for him and his city. Thanks to the trade routes, the small mining town had grown into a small city. Using metal they mined and occasionally imported, they were able to build up the small houses to create larger and more stable buildings, even creating a power plant where Volt powered the town with the help of electric pokemon that lived there.

Zandrophin bowed his head slightly in acknowledgement. He replied,
"The honor is mine, Sir. In fact, I have you to thank. I must admit, the goods which come to me from Starfort are allowing quite the profit margin. I trust our services are up to your standards. If not, I'd be more than willing to see to it myself. As for the health of my business...the old phrase 'another day, another dollar' applies very well...and there have been many days. My men have mentioned that you now have a sophisticated electrical system. I must compliment you on your resourcefulness...most have little knowledge how to do such a thing."
He sighed slightly and looked around before continuing, but as he looked around, a slight look of concern crossed his face. His next message was telepathic
"Tell me, Master Carter....have you any idea as to why we're here?...I've had a lot of experience with these royalty types...there's always an outside objective...aside from a simple get-together."

"All I have are suspicions," Kazi sent back, having had experience with telepathic speaking from communicating with Alloy, "I am going to wait to see if they are valid. For all I know, this could just be to celebrate Lady Eira's recent marriage."
Out loud he then replied, "The electric system wasn't that hard to set up. Using Alloy's brains, we figured out how to construct and connect the city to a large grid that is powered by the electric Pokemon that reside there. The tricky part was finding the materials to make the power lines. I am glad my city is contributing to your company, as it was your company that allowed me to create the Starfort Mining Corporation."
Kazi closed the ledger in his hand and tucked it under his arm as he talked. He tucked his pen behind his ear with a smile as he got off up from where he was sitting.
As Eira entered her home in front of Akane, she was surprised to see Zandrophin also there with Z. She was unsure of what the two men were talking about, but she was sure that Zandrophin must be in some kind of business relation with Z since Z's home was growing so exponentially.
"It is good to see you, Zandrophin, I apologise for not being here to greet you when you arrived," she said with a slightly bow towards him, being careful not to aggravate the dizziness that came with her pregnancy. "I am glad that you were able to make it out while being as busy as you are."
Cloud floated over to her from his perch above them so that she could lean on his comfortable fluff and get some of her steadily growing weight off of her feet.
"The festival will officially start soon if you wish to walk around or you can also stay here where it is warm until I announce the start of it," she told her guests with a tired smile.
"Are you sure you're ok, Eira?" asked Z, "You look tired and out of sorts. Maybe you should sit down."
Z was concerned for her, as she was one of his first friends on his journey. He hoped she wasn't getting sick or something. Kazi didn't know if the village had a good hospital and it would take time to travel through the snow to Pyron in good weather, and if there was a snowstorm, things would be a lot worse.
Meanwhile, Scorpio went to look for Grace so the two of them could catch up after all this time. He wanted to know how his little sister figure was doing.
"I'm quite alright, Z, there's no need to worry," Eira reassured him with a small laugh, trying to not let it show just how tired and dizzy she was. She took a deep breath and stood taller so she could address the two. "Thank you for your concern though. Akane, do you think that I should inform them of the reason for this festival ahead of time? I'm sure Mentus has already guessed as to why everyone is here."
She tried to smile at the Psychic type, trying to not let the residual feelings of fear come through as she addressed the Pokemon that used to terrify her. She had been working hard with Shimmer to get used to Psychic types in the last few years and could now even communicate every now and then with Shimmer. She was just grateful that Shimmer wasn't very talkative so she didn't have to be put into that kind of situation very often.
Grace was outside with Bullet, working on her defensive moves and his offensive moves. She was getting better at not having to have her protect up constantly and anticipating when Bullet was going to use Bullet Seed. She was still not at the point as some of the others when it came to battles, but she was getting much better.
Z was most curious as to what Eira meant by 'the reason of the festival.' He had assumed that this was just to get reacquainted and to celebrate her recent marriage, but now, he wasn't so sure. Z may only be around 15 years old, but he was a smart one and noticed things like this.
"If you think you are alright, then I will trust your judgement," said Z, "By the way, I like the new renovations to your home. It really gives the place a good feel. I'm sure you will have many happy years here."
Scorpio walked up to where Grace was training and watched as his little sister figure worked to improve her defensive skills. He was happy she was learning these things, as he couldn't teach her himself, due to most of his attacks being dangerous to her due to their poison type. Perhaps one day the two of them would see how far she had come in a real battle.
"Thank you. Publius and I found that the additional space was really needed now since he had to move in here and bring a lot of his work with him," Eira told them with a small smile as she glanced towards Akane before addressing Z once more. "Well, that and because our family will be starting very soon and a nursery is going to be needed soon enough."
Bullet noticed the newcomer to their fight and changed his trajectory ever so slightly so that his seeds bounced off of Grace's protect and towards the very large Pokemon. He had never seen this creature before and was not about to let a hostile Pokemon harm his new sister.
Z's eyes widened, "It seems congratulations are in order for the two of you. You must be so happy. Now I wish I brought you a gift to celebrate this joyous occasion."
Z was beaming with a grin on his face. He considered Eira a good friend and was so happy that she would soon be starting a family of her own. He now understood what this festival was about and why Eira seemed to be a bit under the weather today. Z was glad that it wasn't any sort of actual sickness, and that it was only a side-effect of something quite happy and wonderful.
Scorpio saw the incoming projectile and blocked it with a swift poison tail attack, shattering the seed into dust, *good shot, but not quite enough* he said, *I'm just here to visit the little one. Though she isn't much of a little one anymore.*
”Lady Eira, Mentus never guesses because he simply doesn’t have to. But if Zandrophin doesn’t already know, Mentus is simply respecting your will to surprise us.” But it seemed her advice was without. Eira could never keep secrets as big as this for long, but then again, they were among friends and Mentus would have already detected the extra heartbeats.
The red haired woman was almost jealous of Queen Eira, she finally had someone to happily share her life with-something the red-haired fellow queen could never imagine it working out so well for herself. Images of her sister and many of her potential suitors passed through her mind. Though she was wearing her political mask, her eyebrows gave off a glint of discomfort. She decided she would go and speak with Preistess Maya to forget about her own faults and to see how she was handling her new… responsibility.
”High Preistess Maya, so wonderful to see you.” Akane could feel a rift, like something was off about her. So it begins, and now I doubt she could even let go of that orb. The red queen smiled politely but not overly so, recognizing the seeds of fear, and gently placed her hand upon Maya’s shoulder to lead her out into the festival area away from everyone else.
”Keep your defenses up. Mentus is more than powerful enough to read us from here. So. How is your little… problem?” She offered Maya a cleanse tag, and finally settled on a spot out of view from everyone else. ”The visits more or less… frequent?” Though cryptic, her voice was smooth, as if nothing was wrong and she was simply mulling over some boring paperwork or something.
"Sanity is only an idea made real, to make those who are boring feel better." -Akane
Mentus' whistling laughter was heard after Akane's comment.
"She is right, Lady Eira. T'would be unbecoming of me to share information which comes so easily to me...why spoil your moment?"
Zandrophin chimed in, "Oh, because you're such a gentleman, right?"
Mentus bobbed his head in agreement.
"All right, if you say so."
Zandrophin handed Mentus his favourite spoon. The Abra took the spoon, warped it around a bit, and then proceeded to chew on it comically, making an audible 'nyang' sound with every jaw motion.
Zandrophin scratched his friend's ears, but was constantly scanning the area. He felt an energy coming from somewhere...but he couldn't pinpoint it.
I feel a chill, old friend...but I can't identify the source.
Miss Maya has reinforced her barriers, Sir....I have reason to believe it comes from her.
Uggh....Ghost energy....great....
Don't worry about it, Sir...enjoy the festival...I will keep you informed of any developments.
Do not fight for a cause or for what you believe in: Fight for yourself, because who you are rarely changes. Zandrophin
"Well I thank you nonetheless for keeping this to yourself even for a short time, Mentus," Eira said with a large smile that was strange since she was addressing a Psychic type, which would indicate just how happy she was if her fear of Psychic types wasn't even dampening it. "Publius and I were wanting to keep as much of this a secret from everyone as we could, but I view you as long time friends at this point, so I thought I would tell all of you before we make the big announcement later."
Bullet leaned back slightly and eyed the larger Pokemon as Grace waddled over to Scorpio to give her greeting to him, happy to see her older brother figure. *What are you doing here? Mama didn't tell us we were going to have friends come.*
Scorpio smiled as best he could, *I came with Z to see your mama. We were sent an invitation through the mail and Z figured that I would want to see you too. It seems you are doing quite well, little one.*
Scorpio kept an eye on Bullet, as he didn't quite know this new pokemon yet and wasn't sure how he'd act around him.
*Yes, yes! Bullie has been helping me with my training since everyone has been too busy helping Mama with all of her preparations recently,* Grace told him with a large smile as she turned to Bullet to wave him over to her so he could join in on their conversation. Bullet shook his head aggressively, choosing to keep his distance from the poison type he was not familiar with. *I didn't know we were supposed to be having a party today. We should walk around together, big brother!"
Bullet hissed softly under his breath at Grace calling Scorpio her brother, feeling that the position of Grace's brother should belong to him.
