Zandrophin knealt down to shake Axew's tiny hand.
"I do apologize for Mentus' behavior. He doesn't normally go that far, but he was getting beat very badly, he lost control to try to save himself. I hope he didn't hurt you too much."
He called up to Lady Eira,
"We do not require your nurses. We haven't had the best experiences with human remedies for Pokemon problems...except for those that we've created. Mentus will be fine within a few hours, he just needs to rest."
Zandrophin knew that all competitors would be brought back to the stage, so he decided to sit on-stage and begin Mentus' healing process. He pulled out a small capsule from a metal case in his pocket, and fed it to Mentus. His normal stone-faced look softened a bit as he treated his incapacitated ally.
You'll be fine, old friend...we've taken worse thrashings than this.
A few moments later, Mentus' tail began twitching- a sign that Mentus was going to recover. Zandrophin smiled slightly as he sensed the familiar energy and began to meditate with his wounded companion.

Eira sat down with a heavy sigh as two trainers came onto the stage to do a quick fix of it before she announced the winner. It was in her moment of sitting that Eira realized that she was actually shaking like a leaf from her fear of being around a Psychic type. She closed her eyes and took several calming breaths in an attempt to relax and stop shaking so she could face everyone to announce the winner.
Maya sighed in relief, happy that they were fine. She had heard of terrifying stories trainers so linked to their psychic pokemon that the felt every bit of pain their pokemon felt. Sometimes those stories could take some unhappy and sinister turns.
"Flaaaaaafaaa!" Bo gave an indignant bleat from the floor from being dropped, stumpy pink arms crossed as she looked up at Maya with what could be called a pout.
"Sorry, sorry..." She said, picking Bo up off the ground. "You're a little bigger as a Flaaffy you know." Bo just huffed and then gave a smile. "They're going to announce the results soon... I think..."
Axew saluted Zandrophin and followed Z as they walked off the stage. Z watched as Eira had the stage repaired, 'in hindsight, an ice stage wasn't the best idea.' He saw all the boulders and ice chunks left from his battle with Zandrophin and hoped that the trainers that were fixing the stage would be able to restore the stage to its former glory after the beating it took during the battle. Z rubbed Axew's head, thanking him for the battle and the little dragon hoped onto his shoulder and Z saw sparky run up to be by his side as well.
"So....that just happened." Marcus spoke finally after returning to the booth, walking up to the rest of the group. "Everything seems....okay. I wonder what possessed him to use Psychic, he had to know he was supposed to appeal to the judge, and psychic isn't exactly the showy-est move he had at his arsenal. I understand why z was at a loss for a counter to it, it doesn't make sense to use it in a contest like that. Maybe zandrophin just doesn't like to lose...or maybe Mentus doesn't. What I don't understand is, while Axew was struggling, why z didn't have him use Draco Meteor. I know that move and those indents in the ground over there were caused by it and it obviously wasn't another Pokemon that could have used it. At point-blank range, he could have at least gotten it off before fainting. Gotten more points. It is a shame, though. zan would have won if it wasn't for that bolt of lightning hitting him in the head."
The red woman laughed when she noticed Eira shivering. Most would have assumed it was just because of the chilling battle. But Akane wondered if Eira feared Zandophin, or more specifically his pokemon. Perhaps she has a thing with abras? Although Zandrophin himself can be quite terrifying. She couldn’t help but be pleased at the two trainer’s respectful handshakes.

"Ah, yeah, I agree with you," Eira said, looking at him with a weak smile. She really had to get over this fear if she was to continue having contests like this. She shakily stood up to address the audience and contestants. "I believe I am ready to announce the winner if all of the contestants would please make their way to the stage."
Sealeo slid over to Lex and bumped him with his nose once more in greeting.
Maya stood and put Bo down and ushered her out of the stands and towards the stage. Her legs shook a bit to get on the stage, which had been thoroughly thrashed in the battle, and honestly she wasn't sure where to stand that wouldn't be difficult. So she settled for walking along the somewhat unscathed borders of the ice, Bo trailing behind.
She was rather happy with her first performance but was almost certain that battle set her back behind the other competitors. Oh well. She had a good first performance and a poor second one. When added together maybe her total performance would at least be average. Maya could live with average.
Z walked onto the stage with his two partners. Suddenly Sparky and Axew began to glow and change shape. When the light cleared, two different pokemon were standing there. "Blaziken!" roared Sparky. "Fraxure," yelled the pokemon that was once axew. "Nice evolution," said Z, "though a little earlier in the battle would have been more helpful for our score. Sparky responded by hugging Z's arm. Z managed to stop fraxure from climbing onto his shoulder, "You're a bit too big," Z told the dragon type.
Eira announced she was finally ready to announce the winner. Too much waiting… Akane made a strained hnnnn sound and rode Silas side-saddle to the stage. He had much better traction than she did on the messy stage. Humph. And she gave me points of for lightly melting her stage. When Silas reached his spot next to Zandrophin, Akane slid off his back. Silas was a massive luxray, and when Akane wasn’t wearing armor she could ride him. But his mane often times go in her face so she usually didn’t. Doom had walked beside her and Silas and stood on the other side of Akane. Both of her heads were stroking both of their heads. She not-so-eagerly awaited the Frost Queen’s choice. She eyed Maya, willing to bet her houndoom’s life on the fact she would win, after the way Eira raved about her.

Zandrophin remained in his place, occasionally checking on Mentus. The Abra was still twitching occasionally, but his breathing finally became stable.
He'll still be out for a little while...he really took a beating.
He saw Akane ride up next to him. He glanced in her direction and nodded. With Mentus still out, he whispered to her,
"I believe I will be getting the lowest score...and for a disappointing reason. She fears Mentus; by default, I've lost points. She's weak....as I had predicted. I found the village, my job is done...unless you've got another one for me. I really just want to get out of this place...before anything else goes wrong."

Akane slipped Zandrophin a max revive crystal. She was truly grateful for his hard work. She whispered back to him.
”It’s alright Zandrophin. Yes, you are relived, a job well done. I am truly grateful. Take this crystal and use it anyway you like. But my friend, you are correct I’m sure. But do not fret, for I will have a low score as well.”
Akane shook her head to get her hair behind her shoulders. Silas stood perfectly still, his eyes glowing red as he x-rayed the room. Doom was getting fidgety and grumbling at any ice type that waddled by. He especially did not like Eira’s Sealeo. But Akane continued to stroke their heads and whisper to Zandrophin.

"UGH! Seriously, it's overdone. Stop bringing your pokemon to contests so close to evolution." Marcus huffed and turned around. It took Sofa nearly 10 years to evolve and they're just popping out new evolutions like they're poffins. Makes it have less meaning...
Either way, Marcus didn't really care much about who won or who lost as long as it was fair, which is all he ever really cared about in things like this. He looked over to Eira and remembered her response to earlier. Is she able to judge fairly? She hasn't seen that many contests in her life and has little experience in competing. I just hope she stays aware of what her job is after all that commotion earlier...
Lex patted Sealeo's mustache in greeting, his new handshake for his evolved friend. "Wy!"

Zandrophin took the crystal and broke off a piece of it.
Mentus will only need a small piece...healing items go a long way for a little guy like him.
He crushed the piece of the crystal and fed it to Mentus. Almost instantly, he levitated out of Zandrophin's arms, orbited his head, and perched back on his shoulders. Zandrophin couldn't help but smile.
Welcome back, old friend.
It's good to be back, Sir.
Mentus looked at Akane and said,
Thank you, Highness...I would've come around on my own...but now is better than later.

”A showman can’t disappoint his audience.” She laughed and was happy Mentus was fully functional again. She was impressed that Mentus only took a small bit of the crystal and Zandrophin returned it, only one spike missing. She offered bits to her pokemon but as tough as they were neither needed it at all. Akane more forcefully gestured to Silas to take a bite for his jaw, but it didn’t bother him at all. Even Akane was impressed how easily he shattered that solid icicle. She tucked the crystal back in her coat.
