Trainer type: Normal
Name: Marcus Gleyser
Age: 19
Gender: male
Sexuality: likes girl parts
Hometown: Hoenn, Petalburg City
Currently living: Ignacia, on a substantial piece of land just outside of the main city. Could technically be called part of the city, but most wouldn’t agree.
Status\Class: He is technically a lord, because of the land he owns; but doesn’t care much for nobility or status. He doesn’t disdain people of power, he just doesn’t care. He rarely spends his time there anymore anyway.
Looks: Has light silver hair; it is about medium length for a boy, sticking up with perpetual bed head and swirling counter-clockwise. He has soft eyes with bags under them. He has gently tanned skin with a slight greenish tint. He always wears a silver bandana around his neck and a brown leather jacket, unzipped with a light brown undershirt, matching a slaking color scheme. He also wears leather pants and dark brown boots, going with his jacket's color. He is about average height for his age; slightly skinny looking but has above average strength and stamina from regular exercise and training.
Personality: Slumped posture. Marcus doesn't like to make movements he doesn't need to, having grown up with Slakoth as his best friend. His usually low eyelids open up when his When about to do anything physical after sitting still, he cat stretches. Wants to get out and try new things, but is still reluctant. Not very stubborn except for when it would be best to not be stubborn. Often very brash and will speak his peace, even if it's in his best interest not to. ESPECIALLY when it's in his best interest not to. Too clever for his own good, he may be right most of the time, but his social awareness falls apart when he gets into an argument, often straining the situation even more before he walked into the room.
Likes: Sleeping, Freedom, Sweet berries, Soft things, Adventure, Being self-sufficient
Dislikes: Losing, Fake people, Putting on a mask, Arrogance, Friggin' Ghosts, man
Almost inhuman ability: When he closes his eyes, he thinks faster. Time doesn’t slow down, he can just think as if time is slowed to half speed. Doesn’t work when he’s sleeping.
History: Marcus was going to be a Pokemon trainer like everyone else, to follow in his mother’s footsteps. He even caught his first Pokemon at age 8; a Slakoth. He was climbing a tree in the Petalburg woods and fell right onto him as he was sleeping. Marcus looked at the slakoth, having woken him up, and smiled at him. To his surprise, he smiled back. They were inseparable ever since.
Marcus’ mother died right before his 10th birthday. One day when Marcus was coming home from training in Petalburg woods with his Slakoth on his back, men from an unknown group in the Kanto region came to Petalburg for a "business opportunity". Little more than hired thugs, most of them, they gave the people of Petalburg an offer they weren't allowed to refuse. Marcus' mother entered a Pokemon battle with the man in charge of this group in an attempt to defend her son. She did manage to force all of his Pokemon to faint, making him leave since he had nothing left to get from their town, but not before she was mortally wounded. She was always a wall, enduring her poor health for most of Marcus' life with a smile on her face. He didn’t have much experience with Pokemon, but his mother loved them. She was a Pokemon trainer when she was younger, but gave that up when she decided to marry. She treated her Pokemon like old friends, something more akin to soldiers who survived a war together, Marcus always noticed that as a little kid. His mother’s go-to Pokemon was her Wobbuffet, an embodiment of her enduring personality.
Her death shaped his personality for the next 6 years. He was afraid of new things, afraid of trying to make friends; they’d just leave him in the end. He spent all his time napping in the woods with his Slakoth, Sofa. Marcus’ dad felt he had to get him away from Petalburg, away from the place that reminded him of his mother’s death; and maybe something else. So they moved to Ignacia. His mother’s Wobbuffet decided to stay with its master’s mother to look after her. For a year, Marcus stayed at his house with his father, not wanting to do anything but take care of their land and sleep. One day, a package came by express in the mail. Wobbuffet had an egg and sent it to him. His grandmother’s Chatot apparently said that she wanted the egg to go to Marcus, to remind him of the good that came from his mother’s life; the love. This gave him new-found resolve to pursue his old dream to be a Pokemon trainer, so he set out onto his journey.
Since going on his initial journey around the entirety of Asemon per the request of Lady Akane, searching and cataloging new and old communities across the continent, he learned that he had a knack for resourcefulness and gained, along with the pokemon that joined his party, new skills, tools and most of all, direction in his life. Marcus initially trained to live off of the land and fend for himself with a small tribe in the western half of the continent just southeast of the windy plateau. He learned his way around a bow from his adopted brother of the tribe, Chayton, and learned how to fight unarmed from his Hitmonchan, Flash. Once his wanderlust grabbed him again, Marcus and his Pokemon set off on the road once more. He spent his days finding new paths to and from cities to ease travelers adjusting to the ever-opening trade of the continent. Once 2 years had passed he had little need to help others on their journeys since Celosia's reach had greatly grown and brought its advancement and infrastructure with it. Marcus planned to return to the tribe briefly before visiting his father back home in Ignacia. Upon returning to his second home in Asemon, however, Chayton gave him a strange looking medallion that was left for him by a mysterious man in a long cloak. The man knew him by name, but the only message that was left for him was, "Go back, Cloud Dancer." In an attempt to uncover this mystery, Marcus set off in search of this cloaked figure that left him this strange relic.
Site gift: Baby Pokemon. Since I can't use him until Beginning Rookie Rank (because that would be two site gifts), he is remaining an egg. *admin special permission granted*
