"So...A while back, back in Enya, you said that you had a different reason than needing a guardian for finding your aunt. If you don't mind me asking, what would that reason be? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, I'm just curious..."This girl is pretty shrouded in mystery. And it is going to be a long journey to keep avoiding this topic...
"Wait a second...How exactly could Mentus 'recognize' this place if he's not been here before? zandrophin?" Marcus was slowly losing his 'no f*cks given' attitude towards those two, and that choice of words sent up a definite red flag. I don't like red flags...

"Wait a second...How exactly could Mentus 'recognize' this place if he's not been here before? Zandrophin?"
Zandrophin sighed at the inane question...but he recalled that the powers of Psychic Pokemon and their Trainers was a mystery to many. As they kept walking, Zandrophin said,
"That's a trade secret, kid...but let's just say...you, like most of the world, don't fully understand the mysteries of Psychic types...and leave it at that. We've got our bearings...and a route. You should be satisfied with that. How we gather the information isn't important."
Zandrophin hoped the conversation would end there...but he had his doubts. Marcus wasn't usually one to leave conversations alone.

"So...A while back, back in Enya, you said that you had a different reason than needing a guardian for finding your aunt. If you don't mind me asking, what would that reason be? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, I'm just curious..."
Maya frowned at his prying but sighed. "Its... difficult..." She started. Dororo made a concerned croaking in his throat but she shook her head and smiled slightly. "My aunt... has something important. Something I- we need. I didn't know about it until I left home... But it is crucial for Snowpoint City. She never should have left with it..."
Or else punk a** people will steal sacred artifacts from the temple and you have no way of properly calming a pissed off giant... She cut her thoughts sourly.
"Point is, I need to find her... and bring it back to the city."
Yeah right, that's Tauros crap and you know it. "Don't fully understand the mysteries of Psychic types hurr durr durr..." Sure......he's hiding something, but I don't want to think any more about this than I have to, it requires thinking about him without getting pissed off. A near impossibility. Marcus shook his head and looked back at Maya, "That sounds...really important. I take it you don't wanna share what it is, and I guess that's fine. Not really my business, but if there's any way I can help you, I'd really like to try." Sofa nodded in agreement. "We have this annoying sense of justice and want to right wrongs whenever we can." Marcus smiled at the joke he made at the expense of himself and his friend.
"Yeah its..." Maya sighed but smiled at his offer. "But thank you for offering. I could... probably use some help but honestly I don't want to put you on a wild goose chase with me." She smiled and at the jibe at himself. "And I've noticed. But it isn't a bad thing you know. Trust me there are far more annoying things then a strong sense of justice."
"Frooooga!" Dororo croaked in agreement. He seemed to be struggling with some moving around, his new longer legs and their speed, were clearly new to him. He managed to keep up but Maya figured he would have to go back in his Pokeball soon.
"Well, I'm going all over Asemon anyway for..." Marcus paused before sharing all that he was traveling around for. I don't know if it's supposed to be kept secret that I'm exploring and filling out the island map for Lady Akane...half the truth'll be fine. "...for my pokemon journey. I've always like the idea of traveling all over the world, but I've always been too lazy to do it." An image of Marcus' mother showed up in his head. -sigh- Among other reasons...
"It wouldn't be too much trouble for me to help you, it'd be on the way; cus all over Asemon is on the way." Marcus smiled as he thought about all the stories he'd have to tell his dad once he got back. He'd have so many new experiences. It'd feel weird coming back home and working on the farm. Dad would probably freak out just from Sofa deciding to do anything that would get him to evolve, let alone telling him we survived a Mamoswine stampede...
"Well, I'm going all over Asemon anyway for... for my pokemon journey. I've always like the idea of traveling all over the world, but I've always been too lazy to do it."
"I honestly hope I don't end up all over Asemon looking for her," Maya said with a rueful chuckle. "But... it has been an enlightening experience. I've never really left Snowpoint City until recently. Oro and Bo have actually had a lot of fun too I think." She rubbed Dororo's head and he croaked happily but she felt a shiver go through him. "But again thank you for the offer. Your help would be appreciated."
She looked down at Dororo. "Oro, I think its time you went back in your Pokeball. It's only going to get colder from here on out."
"Froooga..." He agreed with a shiver. She pulled out his plain Pokeball and he retreated into the ball with a line and flash of red.
"Yeah...it is starting to get kinda cold...but everything's still pretty green. I haven't seen any snow at all. It is summer, so I guess the snow line is farther north..." Marcus shrugged halfheartedly. "I don't know...I used to always go out in the snow when I was little, and since a few years back Sofa and I would go out and lay in it for a few hours, but I never really went walking around in it and we'd always fall asleep before it started snowing. It'd be nice to actually experience it."
Sofa was looking up at the trees as they walked, slightly bored. He wanted to do something requiring lots of energy, like when they were running for their lives; minus the life threatening part.

Zandrophin kept forging ahead...continuing to lead the party down the path that Mentus had laid out...his head was on a swivel, constantly checking around him for any sort of danger...he didn't want to get snuck up on again. Marcus and Maya were having a conversation about....something. Zandrophin didn't care to listen...he had to focus on getting them to the village. He blocked it out as best he could. They still had quite a distance to go, but at least they were closer.
And once we arrive, old friend...our job will be completed. Do you remember what we must do?
Report the village's position...and don't get caught.
See? Simple. Let's keep moving.

"I don't know...I used to always go out in the snow when I was little, and since a few years back Sofa and I would go out and lay in it for a few hours, but I never really went walking around in it and we'd always fall asleep before it started snowing. It'd be nice to actually experience it."
"Snow is pretty," Maya agreed, stepping over fallen shrapnel from a tree. "But it is dangerous too. There might be some heavy snowing up ahead. We should be prepared."
Why would my aunt even be up here? She thought. Evidently there isn't much up here... She looked up at the sky. Despite there being no snow, the sky had that blank endless grey to it. They would come across snow soon, she was sure.
"Where I lived, the snow was always really weak and didn't last very long, so I've never seen heavy snow, but I hear it's very disorientating...speaking of which, hey navigator, why aren't we back on the path yet? How are we supposed to find the outpost at the halfway mark when we aren't taking the way the natives take to it? That was kind of the point of taking the path in the first place, you know..."
-sigh- His confidence in 'Psychic Pokemon' and his arrogance is gonna get us lost and dead, I just know it...why did I let him lead in the first place?
"We were thrown off of the path by the stampede. We've got a new one...even though it's not an actual path. The path goes around that cliff we climbed, but a fair distance away. We've only got about one more kilometer before we reach the outpost going this way. You want to go back six to find a path when we're almost there, be my guest. I'm going to continue this way. Besides...you explorer types don't mind walking the road less traveled. What's less traveled than a road that doesn't technically exist?"
Zandrophin continued walking. The stampede might've set everyone on edge...but reaching the outpost would lift everyone's spirits. As the group kept moving, Zandrophin saw smoke coming over the top of the trees. He pointed to it, saying smugly,
"Told you we'd get here...and we didn't die. Have more faith, next time."
Do not fight for a cause or for what you believe in: Fight for yourself, because who you are rarely changes. Zandrophin
Marcus looked up and saw the smoke and his mouth crunched up. -sigh- You're not always right, Marcus. Need to learn that... "yeah yeah...okay fine. You were right. Thank you." Marcus put on his best intentionally fake smile and looked back to the rising smoke. SO...why is there an outpost anyway? I thought everyone believed there was nothing but ice Pokemon and death up here... Sofa's nose twitched slightly and like a bullet, he started to sprint past zandrophin towards the distant building as the trees started to become less and less dense.
"I guess he's hungry...You know what, Sofa's got the right idea. How about we recharge, resupply and ask around about your aunt, Maya?" Marcus ran after his friend as the clearing became visible and the outpost came into view.
Thank god! Maya thought when they spotted the smoke. Fire!
"Sounds like a plan to me," Maya said, picking up the pace to keep up.
At least there will be people and supplies up there... Maya thought. She was running low on food and other things. She needed to buy more paper in order to make more cleanse tags and seals. Plus she was kind of drained after the Mamoswine thing. And maybe these two won't kill each other with other people around...
Marcus wasn't really excited to get to the outpost, he was just still really bothered by that near death experience and needed to take his mind off it, put his energy towards something else. His hands hadn't stopped shaking even when the stampede had stopped shaking the ground around them.
If I can't last two weeks on this trip without having a nervous breakdown, how am I supposed to make it all the way around the island? Marcus shook his head, -sigh- It doesn't help to think about that kind of stuff, better to just move past it. The trees opened as Marcus tried his best to keep up with Sofa, the outpost now fully in view. The ground around and the roof of the outpost had a significant layer of snow despite the fact that no snow was falling.
It was a decently sized outpost for being this far away from civilization; larger than most gyms. It was built out of trees from the forest, the logs were left as is when they were put into the outside walls; giving the outpost a very rustic feel. The chimney was built out of oblong shaped stones pieced together to make it straight. The smoke closest to the chimney had a slight purple-ish tint to it. The aroma of cooking food and...something burning became stronger as the Petalburg boys grew ever closer to this lone building in the middle of nowhere.
"Sofa, hold up! We should wait for the others before we go in there." Sofa slowed down and, with a pout on his face, he stopped and watched as Maya caught up to them.
