Mariko let out a sigh as she looked over the empty waiting room of her clinic. It was rare now-a-days for her to be able to gain a break such as this, though a small part of her had become used to the fact she was always on the move. Then again, it was probably for the best that she was able to have this break as Snowdrop had caught a cold from one of the Pokemon patients she had helped earlier in the week. The small Pokemon was fussy and hardly wanted to be alone when she awake, which she was not at the moment. Her other Pokemon were running/flying around somewhere in the back, most likely enjoying the break they too so rarely were able to get. She only hoped she would not walk back to the back and find her equipment scattered about like she had the last time something like this had happened. Especially since she had taken to hiding the Metal Coat she had finally managed to sneak away from Finn who had hoarded the item up until now. She wasn't sure where the other had found it in the first place, but she was sure she was not ready to have him evolve yet. Giving another sigh, she glanced towards the doorway to the back, contemplating if she should go back and join her Pokemon in play. It had been a while since she had taken advantage of a break given to her, but at the same time she worried that someone might walk in when she headed to the other area.
"Excuse me!" Melota called out desperately as she entered the building she had been directed to by a nice older couple down the street. She fumbled with the door since she was carrying her wheezing Pup in her arms, a look of panic in her eyes. In all of her training, she couldn't seem to remember what to do in situations like this even though she had helped dozens of Pokemon through similar situations before. She just hoped that the couple had pointed her to someone who could take care of the situation. She didn't know what she would do if she lost her life long partner. "Is there anybody here? I gotsa sick Pokemon that needs help now!"
Mariko stood at attention at hearing the call, her eyes going to the door briefly from their trained gaze at the wall, then to the doorway to the back. "Everyone, at attention please, we have a patient." She called to the Pokemon in the back that still seemed to be goofing off due to not hearing the door. Instantly, Celeste was back at the front, ready to help at the given signal. "Miss, can you please bring your Pokemon here to the counter?" Mariko then called to the distressed girl who was standing in the doorway of her clinic. She could tell that the Pokemon in the others arms was in dire need of help, and she was hoping that she could help, especially since the wheezing sounded awful from where she was standing, and that was saying something considering how loud it was.
Melota quickly crossed the room to do as she was told, her mind whirling at what she could do to help but unable to settle on any one thing.
"We was just taking a lunch break and he ran off all a sudden. I don't know what he ate. I just found em like this when I went looking for him," Melota tried to explain in a frantic, halting tone that showed just how flustered she was at the sight of her precious friend wheezing and not being hyperactive like he normally was. "Please just do something for him, I can't lose him."
Mariko gave the woman a patient look. "Miss, I know your worried, but panicking will only make the situation more difficult. You need to calm down so that your Pokemon remains calm. They can feed off of our energy." She said as calmly as she could before turning her attention to the Pokemon placed on the counter before her. If the Pokemon had suddenly come down with something that would lead to a few conclusions. Either the Pokemon ate something that it was allergic to, or something in it's environment lead to a disagreement with it's system.
"Miss, as calmly as you can, where did you find him?" She asked, trying to narrow down what it was that could cause this reaction. Depending on where the trainer and the Pokemon had been, she could then think about what was in the area. In the meantime, she turned to the herbs behind her and grabbed the one for breathing problems. For now she could give the Pokemon something that would make it easier to breath. Addressing the Pokemon, she held out the herb in her hand. "Little one, can you try and chew this for me? It will help you breath better." She asked, trying to seem as nonthreatening as possible to the one she was talking to, especially since she was a stranger to it.
